Besides all the trainings, workshops and seminars we’ve attended we also had fun times in between.
As I’ve been preoccupied with a lot of school works, I usually bring them over to the BSE office, however I do take breaks and interact with my fellow apprentices and the members. Upon closing this chapter of our BSE journey, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to everyone who is a part of this humble community.
It started with a meeting in one room, with individuals who had one goal, and now became one family. That is Benilde Student Envoys (BSE).

Smile and Wave.
February 14. What does this remind you of? flowers? chocolates? couples? valentines day? nice. Oh, me? It reminds me of that one time that I spent my Valentines 2019 training for PAASCU's visit. As early as 10am, we were requested to head over to ACKIK to get ready for the PAASCU accreditors tour and observation of the campus. In this event, I was able to use all the skills that the workshops I attended taught me. It was quite nerve wrecking as we were expected to professionally usher to the accreditors. I experienced an accreditor who wanted to deviate from his schedule and visit another floor so that he could pass time. Another accreditor asked a question that I was not prepared for, luckily sir LA was in the same floor so I did what protocol suggests. I brought her to sir LA and he was able to give her the answer she needed. The event, I believe succeeded. The teamwork and cooperation of the BSE volunteers were evident as both members and apprentices worked together for the benefit for the entire success of the event.

Family and Plans.
Exhaustion seems to be the main trend that goes on in my body as I go to BSE workshops. However another trend is happiness. Why? because even if I haven't been as active as I would want to be the people I see, the friends I see in each workshop activity still treats me as if I've always been with them. In a sense, yes I was always with them but not physically. Due to the demands of my course, organizations I am a part of and the trainings for the conference I will be attending as one of the delegates who bears the entire name of DLS-CSB, I could not give my 100% to BSE. However, when I attended this activity, not only did I learn a lot about events planning and how to meticulously lay out every detail, I also learned that when people accept you as you are and understand you, you wont be a stranger to them once you've resurfaced. I allowed this activity to be the gateway for me to bond with some of my co-apprentices, and I have. They've grown on me and I've found a family in them.

Give and Give.
'Tis the season of giving and BSE gave love, hope and joy to the children around our college's barangay. The day started off with BSE members and apprentices excitingly scurry in preparation for our Christmas party x Outreach program. As someone who loves volunteering for outreach works, I was elated to be able to go to such event. Everything looks just as it should be. The children arrived and we all went on with the day, hosting games for the kids to enjoy, giving out Jollibee meals, cheering for the child assigned to each of us. The young boy assigned to me was Martin, he was something special. I could tell that he has the potential to be someone great in the future as I've observed him and how he meticulously analyzes situations. He can be carefree when in the company of the friends he knows but he can also be quiet and observant with the people he just met; Me, for example. I was someone new to him so I could feel that he was still gauging the amount of trust he would place on me. Eventually though, we've established a connection and he became comfortable with atually interacting with me -his mom for the day. All was swell until the end of the outreach program. Oh, but wait! A Christmas party isn't a Christmas party if there aren't any gifts to give, right? Right! And silly me, I forgot to buy my Secret Santa a gift! Luckily, our campuses are surrounded by concept stores, I was able to grab what she wanted in her wish list and make it just in time for the Secret Santa session. For this part of the program, we were all able to receive and give gifts to the people who, in one way or another, became a part of our college journey. And that is one of the most beautiful ways to end the term.

Black and Blazers.
I had just gotten back from training when I opened our BSE group chat and found sir LA asking for volunteers to usher the HIFI x FSUU MOA Signing. Knowing that I didn’t have much to do as exams were done, I volunteered. My initial thought was that it would just be a simple ushering however when it came to it, I was in awe that there were people of great importance attending. The day came and I was rushing to get to the BSE office for briefing. As I got there I, together with other BSE volunteers, was briefed with how the formation and blockings of how we were to give the MOA to the guests were to be properly executed. I was in awe as the technicalities of the ushering was actually diced even to the smallest of details. With this, I learned that events like this, especially with esteemed guests, were to be planned to the slightest of details. I commend the people behind the organization of this event and of course us, the volunteers.

Around the campus.
As a freshman student, it terrified me to know that I will be shadowing a campus tour. Embark 2019 was about showing potential Benildeans just how beautiful the campus is and I thought that one screw up can cause a great deal when it comes to how the student will perceive the school to be. The first time, I shadowed a tour in my own campus, the second I had to shadow a campus tour in SDA. Touring my own campus, Taft Campus, was okay but to tour a campus I barely went to was something else. However, amidst the doubt and fear, I was excited to know that I will be able to experience first had the satisfaction and beauty of introducing your school as a venue for enhancing and honing technical, psychological and physical skills. What more, we were tasked to shadow BSE members to tour the parents of BEE takers. I learned a great deal when it cam to how we are to approach delicate situations and how to maneuver around the school. Moreover, Embark allowed me to exercise my skills in professionalism and leadership. I aspire to be someone who can adapt to situations and handle them professionally and without compromising anything.

Sit. Stand. Sashay.
Sit. Stand. Sashay.
As a student taking up Consular and Diplomatic Affairs, Communication Skills and Professional Image Workshop provided me with insights as to what I needed to develop when we are faced with challenges that will hinder us from delivering a clear and concise agreement with various groups. Moreover, the speaker, who was invited to discuss the technicalities when it come to representing not only ourselves but as well as the entire college, clearly demonstrated how we were to act as student representatives of the college. I've had a lot of background experience when it comes to professionalism and leadership. However, this workshop allowed me to further my abilities and learn how to use my appearance for something more than just to merely be "presentable". I've learned that a good appearance can also make us feel more confident about ourselves and allows us to minimize the look of vulnerability when we are in doubt of whether or not what we are doing is right.

Wider scope.
Sweat and body ache. This was what I felt before attending the Campus Tour Training. Why? Mainly because this event happened on the same day of our Physical Education Finals. Sadly, I was not able to attend the full day however I managed to be present for the campus tour. With exhaustion taking over my body, I felt like I was floating from one place to another as the BSE members were bringing us to various parts of the school campuses. I’ve visited places that I never knew exist and got interested with the functions of each place we visited. What interested me the most was that each of the rooms are placed strategically beside one another for the purpose of accessibility. I commend all the people who contributed in the development of all campuses as their efforts and the present day efforts to make Benilde a prestigious school is evident.

New beginnings.
A wide variety of culture, traditions and interests boomed as I stepped inside the conference room for our first ever Batch Orientation. Batch 9. As I sat, the only person that I knew in the room was my good friend Aaron. I took my time scanning the room, looking at the people that will be with me throughout my journey as an apprentice. I could feel the overwhelming potential inside the room as we introduced ourselves to one another. Each person spoke while emitting an aura that presents who they are and what they can do. As someone who quietly observes, I could tell that the orientation not only iterated our roles and responsibilities as apprentices and who the people with authority are in the program, but it also helped us get to know each other through the activity the Board Members prepared for us. Truly, the orientation gave me jitters as everyone in the room made a really huge impact, but it also gave me a sense of pride that out of the numerous applicants, we were the chosen ones.
