Their henshins are sooo good that I'm confused of which should I choose! But I decided on Gokaiger because of the sequential order of the henshin process.
Based upon my Top 12 favorite Henshining sequences of Super Sentai, and obvious with the limitations of voting slots up to twelve total, and I am sorry if your favorite Sentai Henshin sequence outside my Top 12 is not on there! As always, this is my opinion, so let’s be respectful. Thank you and happy voting!

Kagaku Sentai Dynaman VS. Choudenshi Bioman - HENSHIN!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Battle 8 - Henshin Sequences!
Dynaman’s Henshin scenes VS. Bioman’s Henshin scene! We’re doing this, everybody! It’s Morphin and Voting time
As always, I’ll be summarizing both Henshin sequences to see which do I like more. Let’s start off with Dynaman!
Kagaku Sentai Dynaman - To say the least, the transformation scenes of Dynaman were pretty much simple. Nothing too of the extraordinary, but it was an early time that technology of editing was still very young before were all familiar with these filming and television industries that are still commonly relying on much more digital and CGI editing techniques and less practical effects that we’re pretty much used to today compare to the standards of editing that requires less CGI and more stop motion back in our time.
So as far as the evolution of Super Sentai henshining goes, the show editors were just about to push the limits with so much budget to contribute being put into. Both Dynaman and Bioman felt like they really indeed had a great amount budget put into at that time. I mean sure we do get a little special effects popping up during the earliest 80s Sentai seasons(as well as JAKQ as a 70s Sentai season)on where Sentai henshining skits were not too extraordinaire when Dynaman actually displays an actual Henshin scene to where this was about to be a huge thing really being stapled to really see heroes transforming into their actual suits.
But back to evaluating Dynaman’s Henshin scene. My thoughts about this is so amusing. Sure it may not seemed all that crazy viewing it nowadays. But imagine yourself at Japan around 1983 when this show first aired to where you were stunned by seeing this pop up on screen. Seeing the helmetless Dynaman standing in the middle of the Green Screen with their suits almost completed until they’ve stretched out both arms while as the camera zooms up to their faces to where the particles formed each of their helmets around their heads to put a nice finishing touch to completion!
(But of course I have forgotten about that infamous parody doubt of Dynaman that simply has no relation to Power Rangers. But I would believed that anyone back in the day that have seen that disgraceful dub would comment about the nice Henshin scenes as a small good token on where you can never dreamt of watching the original version of Dynaman years later to actually recollect that memory when viewing the parody dub back in the day as to now)
I really do like it. Just the idea that, even in an early Sentai show like this, to where we see all the team members without their helmets on. Sure you may have seen behind-the-scene photos with the teams without the helmets. But here it was something that you don’t see earlier on until the later seasons would exhibit the team nearly being transformed with their helmets being put into completion like Kyuranger or Gokaiger for example.
It may looked cheap, but it wasn’t too cheaply done compare to where things had less amount of effort being literally put into with not a lot of patience and details put into with today’s standards of the art of creativity and whatnot. But Dynaman’s Henshin sequence should at least needed to be given some credibility. It’s nothing like the later seasons that managed to increase the visuals through an amount of special effects to make looked so astounding, but it has to start off somewhere! Which is why…
Choudenshi Bioman - Choudenshi Bioman took their Henshin scenes to the next level indeed! It’s really hard to believe that coming out from the previous season of its Henshin skit having less of a background other than a simple Green Screen.
But in Bioman, it gives this an upper edge with attention to details like this really added when they were just now ready to play around and customize the creativity coming to mind. Here you get the Bioman team being placed inside some kind of Bio Nucleus, and they were being struck by lightning and greatly converted into their suits.
When I have first seen this, it was an amazing sequence, even for an old show like this that really reminisced into my childhood of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers of its Morphin sequence when morphed into the rangers themselves.
I cannot tolerate to say, which I know almost all of you will agree, that Bioman surpasses Dynaman’s Henshin scenes! I mean, come on! How amusing is that the show editors really pushed that much effort into making this so surreal! It’s like, “Wow! That’s a Morphin Sequence right there!” It’s the kind of 80s vibe of the kind of technology that really gives this show an impression look at.
The only problem that I have  is that once after Mika dies and Jun replaces her, they cutoff the earliest part of the transformation sequence with the Bioman team just now in the process being transformed into their suits without seeing the actual actors to where it becomes a thing every time we get this fabulous Henshin scenes that shows off the team now in the transformation process. I know they’re saving most of the majority for giant robot fights and all. But, come on! A little budget wouldn’t hurt just to make just one fine update once you’ve got a replacement for just one team member!
But other than my one minor complaint, I still love this Bioman’s Henshining process than Dynaman. You start off by having Dynaman having the simplest scene being switched into their suits to a much more mind blowing scene to where it is about to be a huge thing for Super Sentai and even Power Rangers transformation sequences.  And when I compare Bioman to Changeman’s Henshining, this is on how it shows that the editors were really wanting to step this up to the next level by taking this to limits when Sentai itself was still continuing to soaring in with the rapid of success that many things are yet to come…even for the better or worse when there are several not so great Sentai seasons out there that do have fewer good aspects to look at and to like, but take it on what you get.

I got my Aikatsu 10th anniversary book today! To my surprise (because I pre-ordered it before a lot of details were revealed) this is a full collection of Aikatsu history. It's so interesting and pretty to read but I'll share some of my favourite pages. (Ignore my finger cameo in some of them lol)
When I say full history I mean full history, starting from the original dcd machines, games, how it gradually grew the world, etc.
Tumblr media
Then we go into the animation side of things. There's even pages of the main character's history like their first stage, brands, and what makes them unique. I do like that they put so much effort into showing their side characters too
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are 43 brands in total + 12 dressia types! I never counted how many but wowwww. Each one of them having a description of what they represent, a muse and a full premium outfit that are so beautifully unique. I always loved Aikatsu's fashion ❤️❤️ like they literally put Loli Gothic next to Aurora Fantasy so we can really see the variety that it always has (also also love that they put both Love Queen and Love Moonrise because they are two seperate brands and must be considered such)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I wish I knew Japanese better as we have interviews of both Ichigo and Akari's VAs as well as all of Starry Planet's abiut their thoughts of the past 10 years and their own journey being an idol. Don't forget that all the Starry Planet girls were/are fans of Aikatsu before their roles so they all speak about how they looked up to the previous generations
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally we see most of the merch and stores that Aikatsu has hosted. But we can not CANNOT forget all the albums that they've produced over the years. There's actually so many. And I so wanted to vist the Aikatsu Design Mart in person but I'm glad with this book that it has a small legacy towards it as it has shut down now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though these 10 years have past by so fast there has been so much work put into the series both in the games, anime, music, merch, etc that I'm glad that this book contributes to it all. In a pretty way too. I love love it, happy Aikatsu anniversary!

All of Rainbow Live's Seventh Coords, ranked by me
8. Pop
Tumblr media
Sort of looks like a bad attempt of playing dress-up with random clothes that happen to sorta match. The original version's palette looks like candy, while the platinum version's palette reminds me of ice cream.
7. Lovely
Tumblr media
It looks like something that would be posted on a pastel aesthetic blog. The touch of black is very Pretty Rhythm. I think the original version is pretty good, but the upgraded versions have too many details and it starts to look like a mess.
6. Ethnic
Tumblr media
I didn't notice a huge difference between most of the outfits' regular and brilliant versions, but with this one, the upgrades just make the whole thing look way more complete. It's amazing how much difference some sleeves and roses can make.
5. Radiant Rainbow
Tumblr media
Sure, this can be a Seventh Coord even though no Rainbow element exists. Why not? It's pretty, but a bit monotone. Well, not really, since there are rainbows on it. Idk.
4. Cool
Tumblr media
This one suits Ito perfectly because I thought it was cool when I was younger but the older I get, the stupider it looks to me. However, there are parts of the design I like, and I can't hate anything purple and black.
3. Star
Tumblr media
It's good, but I just don't know what it's going for. Each upgrade makes it look like an entirely different outfit, which is cool I guess, but it does make me confused about what they were aiming for with this one. I don't know why I ranked it this high. It should probably be lower. But I just like it.
2. Sexy
Tumblr media
If we're ranking this based on the original dress, it wouldn't place so high, but for some reason, Bell gets an entire new dress once it upgrades. The black and red skirt looks good in motion, especially when spinning. It's really funny how it starts looking like a candy cane when it turns platinum.
1. Feminine
Tumblr media
Otoha is never no.1 in anything, except now she is. The ornate silver belt, the white fur trimming... it's very delicate and pretty. This is just a really solid design, and it's the one of the only ones where I think the platinum version doesn't take away from the design.

Aikatsu song reviews: Onaji chikyuu no shiawase ni
Tumblr media
Song
This review might not go as in-depth as I want, or I might edit it later, because despite the fact that I like this song, I have not listened to it very many times.
This song feels fairy-like, but not in the traditional "small and delicate and ethereal" way. It's more like a "grand awakening" kind of way. Like taking heavy steps as flowers sprout out of the ground.
I think this is a good song, but I always feel kind of scared to listen to it because the beat is so loud. Aikatsu has done this with a few of their ballads, but this is the first and one of the worst. I get what they're trying to do. They want to give the song a 'heartbeat', to make sure it isn't boring. But in the end, it just hurts my ears and makes me unable to focus on the rest of the instrumentals.
I like how the key change doesn't happen all at once – instead, the song slowly lures the listener in and out of the new key. I find that type of key change far more pleasant and interesting than the kind that happens all of a sudden with no transition.
Anyway, I think that this song is a ballad done right. Ballads sort of have a bad reputation among those who prefer fast-paced songs, and when I hear a mediocre or overly-simple ballad, I can honestly understand why. But I think this one is pretty good. Of course it's not perfect, and I'm sure it's not for everyone, but it's still really nice.
Vocals
The first time I listened to Sakura's vocals, it was in a duet song, and I thought that I would never actively want to listen to a solo song by her. But then I listened to this and changed my mind.
This song makes really good use of her voice's breathy quality. The vocals are mostly soft and gentle, but with surprising bursts of strength that make them much more interesting to listen to. That one low part in the chorus is especially fun... she almost sounds like a completely different person.
Lyrics
I... feel bad insulting the lyrics... but the English translation kind of reminds me of an 11-year-old's first attempt at a serious song. I don't think it's fair to say that about the Japanese lyrics since they contain some pretty high-level vocabulary that maybe an 11-year-old wouldn't know. I think it probably sounds better if you're fluent in the language, which I am not.
But I feel like these lyrics are exceedingly rare for an idol anime. These days, it feels like there aren't that many songs with lyrics about nature, so these lyrics are refreshing. They have a tone reminiscent of a poem or a folk tale, or even a sort of benevolent commandment, which is also quite rare. They feel strangely nostalgic.
Choreography
One of the most ballet-like dances in Aikatsu, outdone only by Aria's performance. It has the same problem as a lot of choreography for slower songs: a bit too much energy. Most of the dance is slow, but then suddenly there will be this fast series of leaps and spins. The dance would be too boring without them, so I don't think it's a bad thing. It's just a thing that happens when choreographing a slower song. If there was any way to improve it, I think that would just be to create a better flow between the energetic and calm parts.
I feel like the choreography of this one might have influenced the choreography of Alicia's song. Some of the poses and movements are similar.
The dance seems like it would be fun to do.
Visuals
This was one of the most visually experimental performances in Aikatsu, or at least in season 1. They had the performer jumping off a platform, moving patterns on the stage, partially blurred shots, plants briefly obscuring the screen, and a sky that changed mid-song. The CGI was starting to get better, and they made full use of that.
And the stage design! It sort of looks like a level of a nostalgic video game, but I couldn't tell you what game because it isn't any one in particular. It just looks really magical. I love the fireflies and the lily of the valley flowers, and how they're so big that it makes the performer look like a little fairy. Sakura's aura matches the visuals so well that could be mistaken as part of the stage. And the way it grows when it first appears is so whimsical. It's all so pretty, it's a shame it was only used in the anime, like, once.
Good points: Good vocals Bad points: Beat is too loud
Rating: 7.3/10 Personal rating: 7.3/10

Joker is 5’9 so Wonder is probably 5’10. Or 5’11 matching Yu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The height difference between Yu and Joker in some of the anniversary art where they're both standing at the same level seems to be about the same (though it varies a bit) as the height difference between Wonder and Joker in P5X, so I think you're onto something with that 5'11 guess!

I was grumpy the VRAINS button set did not include a Spectre design, so now I've bootlegged him I guess. A shame I don't have an ever so slightly larger button maker, but my emotional need not to separate these two is satisfied for now.
