“Earth’s history?” That was a weird way to put it but nothing about this stranger was normal as far as Conner could discern. “That’s cool, I guess. I study biochemistry.” He stuffed his hands into his pockets and continued walking. At least until he realized something. “I am, uh, I’m actually lost so I don’t know where I’m going,” he confessed, a small blush coating his cheeks. “Do you happen to know how to get back to GothamU? I can find my way back home from there.”

M’gann mentally patted herself on the back for being able to start a normal conversation. This definitely qualified as a meetcute. “Biochemistry! Wow that must be so interesting from an Earth perspective, I mean at University level,” M’gann quickly corrected herself, flushing again. She looked at him with wide eyes, her heart melting at the way his cheeks burned red while he blushed in embarrassment. Her already high mood skyrocketed further when he mentioned where he want to school. “You go to GothumU? That’s where I go to school. Go Gophers!” She gestured to her cheerleading outfit. 

“I’d be happy to take you!” M’gann said, a little too eagerly. “Are you new to the city? It is a bit intimidating. One of the most populous cities in the United States. Very intimidating. When I first got here I ended up on a bus to Metropolis on my first day.”

Did Megan just squeak…? Was he hearing things? Did he have his super hearing on? He narrowed his eyes and focused on his ears, pretty sure that he didn’t. No, she definitely squeaked. Conner wasn’t a social guy but this girl definitely wasn’t normal. Conner wasn’t really scared of anything but he was slightly creeped out.

Her immediate response to him leaving really didn’t help the situation. Still, if she was insisting on going the same direction as him, he couldn’t exactly stop her. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked again, wanting to clarify. “I mean, you are kind of acting weird and you did just fall…”

Megan laughed nervously. “Wierd. Nope. Just regular old Megan. Hello, Megan! What a dork,” she said, trying to sound casual but unable to calm her nervous smile. She started moving in the direction he had pointed to, attempting not to literally float. She was grateful that the direction he had pointed in was indeed the way to her apartment. 

“So um I’m in school,” Megan started, trying to think of conversation. She went with her classic WWMD (What would Megan do?) protocol for the situation. Making small talk seemed to be a good option. “University actually. I’m studying History. Earth’s history is quite fascinating.”

Conner furrowed his brow and cocked his head to the side, wondering if he heard her right. Did she just say he was gorgeous? Was that a normal thing people did? He hadn’t encountered it thus far and his programming didn’t exactly prepare him for regular human interaction. Was he supposed to say it back? He was finally beginning to understand why his father kept insisting he make friends. “Um, thanks? You’re gorgeous too..?” Nailed it.

He took her hand and shook it. “I’m Conner. It’s nice to meet you.” The name almost felt weird coming out of his own mouth. He had been awake for a few months but had never really introduced himself to anyone, preferring to avoid people in general. Conner always thought it was pointless to interact with people and make connections with them because it wasn’t like he was actually supposed to have a life. “So, um, I was just heading that way…” he stated, gesturing vaguely to the area behind her.

M’gann’s heart fluttered inside her chest. Did he just? Did she hear? If Conner could hear her thoughts it would just be one shrill squeak of excitement. She had learned about these kinds of events in her Intro to Comedic Film class. What was it called again? A meetcute? Was she having her own real life meetcute? Mars above she loved earth!

Conner. 

His name was Conner. 

She actually did let out an excited squeak, but she was too distracted by the perfectness of the moment to acknowledge it. She managed to blink out of her stupor when Connor gestured behind him, overly-eager to make sure the moment didn’t end too quickly. “I’ll go with you!” she said. Realizing that could potentially sound creepy, she coughed again. “I mean, I was going that way too! We could go that way, er, together. If you want.” She looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Conner simply watched as the girl talked to herself, somewhat bewildered by her strange reaction. She was talking to herself, right? It was kind of over the top and Conner briefly wondered if he had accidentally hit her a bit too hard. He was about to ask when she began to stare at him and suddenly turned red. “Are you okay?” he asked, pretty concerned that he broke something. “You’re, uh, you look kind of red… Do you need a hospital or something?” He began to scan her body, looking to see if she was bleeding or if he broke something. He didn’t have complete control over his powers so it wouldn’t be unnatural for him to have accidentally overreacted.

M’gann continued to stare at the boy in front of her. She had seen many people on earth already, but she couldn’t recall encountering anyone as attractive as him. He was even cuter than Conner from Hello Megan! And that was saying something. It took her a moment to realize that he was talking to her. When he said she looked kinda red, her whole body tensed and she quickly looked at her hands, afraid she had unknowingly shapeshifted into a giant heart. Relief flooded her when she saw her dark skin--her normal human form.  

“Oh I’m great. You’re gorgeous. I mean fine. You’re fine too!” she said this with a touch of nervousness, suddenly very tempted to phase into nothing due to her embarrassment. “ She coughed, holding out her hand. “I’m Megan.”

For all of her abilities, M’gann was rather unobservant when it came to watching people around her. She would have been better at it, but her Uncle had given her strict instructions to not use her telepathic abilities on earth. Aoarantly humans didn’t like when you spoke to them through their mind, which seemed horribly inconvienent. Still, M’gann had adjusted. Even if it meant not always being aware of her surroundings. 

On her way home from cheer practice she had collided with a rather broad and surprisingly hard chest. She let out an “Oof,” falling to the ground in a way reminicent of her favorite television character. She pushed herself up, adjusting the lopsided cheerbow perkily attatched to her ponytail.  “Oh no please don’t be sorry. Hello Megan! watch where you are going sometime would you.” She bonked her own head with her hand, smiling. “Are you oka--”

Her words cut off as she caught site of the boy she had run into, her cheeks suddenly flaring red. “Wow,” she said, after a long pause of ehr just staring at him. She flushed again, hastily getting up. She determinetly brushed the non-existent dirt off her cheer skirt. “I mean, um, hi.”

Conner groaned as he turned into another dead end. He was looking around the city and somehow got lost. Unfortunately, his phone was smashed after a little engagement with a car and he wasn’t allowed to simply leap his way home. Not only was that too visible, he also apparently left small craters whenever he did and his father couldn’t have that.

He turned around and was about to head back when he collided into someone, sending them back. He reached out to stabilize them. “Sorry about that,” he apologized.

M’gann glanced around the ship, her eyes reflecting a mix of nerves and excitement. Even though she had been on earth for nearly three years now, she had never had the chance to go into a magic shop. She had eyed it every time she walked past, hoping that one of her fellow cheerleaders would offer to go with her. But alas, no one had. The moment she stepped foot into the little store, her eyes found what looked like a can of peanuts, she opened it only to have rubber snakes fly at her. “Ahhh!” She dropped the can, backing away, before turning to see the girl who apparently worked at the shop. She flushed. “Oh, um nope. Actually, I think there might be something wrong with your peanuts...”

Zantanna was in the back of the shop when she felt someone’s presence. Not long after she heard the bell chime signalling that the person had walked into her shop. Making her way to the front of the store she smiled before speaking. “Well, what can I help you with today.”

M’gann raised her hands in the air startled by the site of the vigilante, letting out a squeak. “Sorry, sorry! I didn’t realize you were...” She stopped, the hero coming into view and her eyes widened in recognition. “Hey, you are Green Arrow! Oh wow, We heard all about you on Mars. You’re earth’s best archer. It’s an honor to meet you.”

❛   dammit.   ❜    the arrow mutters between gritted teeth, anger very visibly lying underneath his mask, and his eyes fixated on the escaping figure that grows smaller on the horizon. son of a bitch got away. now, his gaze turns to the culprit who got in his way and interrupted the whole operation.   ❛   what the hell do you think you were doing?   ❜

‘ello lovlies!  Say hello to M’gann! I’m super excited to play this seamlessly adorable and complex ball of insecurity and power. Here are a few things you should know.

In this timeline, she has just come to earth about four years ago after storing away on her Uncle’s spaceship. 

She currently has little interest in being a super hero. She just wants to live life on earth and forget as much about her time on Mars as possible. 

She is in school as a History/Communication majors and will absolutely tell you about all of the amazing things she is learning about. 

She also managed to weasel her way on the cheerleading squad so watch out flying pom-poms.
