There are many people who don’t like riding roller coasters. But I’ve been told riding a roller coaster is actually safer than crossing the street and even getting behind the wheel to drive. Have you ever thought how it will feel if you were able to fly? If you ride a roller coaster and it twists upside down, think of it as if your flying. You get to stick your hands out and feel your on top of the world. I also like roller coasters because of the screaming you get to do. I think of it as a stress reliever. If you have been going through a rough time and have a hard time dealing with it, releasing your you anger or stress through screaming. When you are on a roller coaster you get to laugh also. If your fearful of a roller coaster you can laugh your fear off. I remember my first time riding a roller coaster. After I felt accomplished and rewarded myself. Maybe you can do the same for yourself to motivate you to go on roller coasters.

My friend Ann and I are so much alike yet so different. We been friends for 10 years and it feels I’ve known her forever. She is the sister I never had. There are people who meet us for the first time and really think we look alike and ask us “Are you two sisters?” We finish each others sentences as if were thinking that same thing. There are a lot of similarities that we have in common, such as, our patience, attitude, work ethic, our characteristics, etc. The only thing that makes us different is the way we live. She comes from more of a religious back ground. She goes to church every Thursday and Sunday. I’m not that religious, but I have my religious beliefs that are somewhat different than hers. She is also, what we call, a “clean freak.” Its funny to see her clean up after everything that touches the floor instantly. When I go to her house and walk through the front door, there is not one day that I don’t smell clorox or febreze in the air. You will never see her house dirty, even when it comes to her front and backyard. It’s not that I’m not a clean person, it’s just that I feel things aren’t going to always be perfect or always clean. I have two kids at home. There is no way I can clean up after them after every mess they make.

When it comes to writing is grammar and punctuation in general. When it comes to punctuation, commas are my biggest opportunity. I’m always having a hard time placing them where they belong. I over think and tell myself that a comma doesn’t belong there. As for grammar, I tend to use the same words over and over instead of using other words that are similar. I use words that I already know instead of looking up other synonym words for that word.  I also have a hard time indicating verbs.
Grammarly rule for commas, is that commas indicate a smaller break other than a sentence. Some writers think of a comma as a soft pause—a punctuation mark that separates words, clauses, or ideas within a sentence.

As for verbs, there are up to five forms for each verb: root, third-person singular, present participle, past, and past participle.

When I was in high school i experienced my first love, heartbreak, and breakup. I was with someone from high school for 4 and a half years. It was the worse experience of love that I encountered. I would think that every relationship would be the same way. I decided to focus on myself and get a job and even go to school. After my first and only relationship, I didn’t believe I can feel loved or be loved by someone like all my friends. I felt as if their relationships were horrible but they were doing a good job hiding it. That all changed when I met Andrew, December of 2015. I had my guard up for some time but finally I decided to let my guard down little by little. I didnt know this was true love is. I didnt think someone would make me feel loved. He would do little things to remind me how important i was to him, like buying flowers with a card, or taking me on random dates. He will buy me things to wear. I felt so spoiled. I cant help but think how lucky I am to have the man that I do. He respects me, he cares for me, he takes care of my heart. There is not a day that goes by that he doesnt tell me he loves me or gives me a kiss on the forehead. We now have a beautiful family of 4. We have a daughter and son.

Before I decided to come to Platt, I wanted to go to West Coast University to become a RN. My family comes from a medical background so growing up that is all I ever wanted to do. All of that changed after my pregnancy. I had my first birth child back in September 2017. After my first trimester I started to faint. It got to a point where I had fainted at work and I instantly got put on disability. Throughout my whole pregnancy I was going to one ultrasound to another. After I had seen a cardiologists, once a month I got put on a holter monitor and got an ultrasound on my heart. They found that I had developed a heart murmur. The specialists were on top of my ultrasounds to make sure my son didn’t develop one either. One day towards the end of my pregnancy I had asked my OB questions about becoming an ultrasound tech and what schools she recommended. She asked “why do you want to become an ultrasound tech and no more RN?” I said, “after going through so many ultrasounds not just here in your office but also with my specialists, I really found something that I’m more interested into learning than a RN.” Since then she introduced me to a friend of hers who came to Platt College and got her bachelors degree in the sonography program out in Ontario. By the time I had my some the next course was in October 2017. I felt it was too soon to go back to school with my son only being a month old at the time. So in January when I got the “OK” from my doctors I called Platt College, set up an appointment, and everything happened so quick I got a start date for February 1st 2018.

Quick Write 2-7-2018
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because that is the only time my whole family is finally together. I love waking up the morning from bed to the smell of breakfast that always consist of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, and with homemade orange juice. My parents cook this big breakfast only for thanksgiving mornings. First, I get up and walk to the bathroom that is located next to my bedroom. I begin to wash my face and brush my teeth. As I begin to wrap up in the bathroom, I will listen to see if I hear my brothers downstairs or anyone else that may have came early. Next, I will go and change into something that is more casual to get out of my pajamas. By noon everyone is hear. My brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, etc. Throughout the day you will see my parents and grandparents coming in and out taking turns to cook or prepare for our thanksgiving dinner. Throughout the day in our house, were playing music, playing games ( board game, video games), watching television or even out back under the patio cover chit chatting. I like putting on the family feud show to get everyone to participate and break into two groups. One year I made my own question and answers so I can act as if it were my own and have my whole family involved, which was my personal favorite. Finally, the dinner is ready to be served. My family likes to set up the kitchen as if it were a buffet. You have the starting point where each person can a plate, napkin, and utensil. Often when I get to my seat, before we say grace, I like to look around my plate to see where I want to start off at and work my way clockwise on my plate. As we begin grace, I smell the mashed potatoes and gravy next to the turkey and ham, the steamed veggies, fresh biscuits, and even the pies that are always homemade. When everyone finishes their dinner, we all go around and say what we are thankful for and why. I’m always thankful to be able to wake up every morning knowing that I have a loving and supportive family. There are people out there who don’t have their parents or family with them.

Quick Write 2-5-2018
In general, I like to write writing when I’m the only one who can read it. As for academic writing, I don’t find myself too strong at it. I find it a bit challenging at first because I overthink what topic to write or I overwhelm myself with opinions, ideas, and thoughts. I feel this way because I seen in the past that is what I struggle with. My past professors will tell me I take too long to think about what I want to write about. My biggest opportunity/liability will have to be my punctuation. My best asset is organization.
