colonoscopy bag
Colostomy bags are used to collect fecal matter from the body. They can be placed around the colon to collect waste material. There are two types of colostomy bags; they are either temporary or permanent.
Temporary bags are mainly used in patients who have not yet been surgically fitted with a permanent bag. Permanent colostomy bags are typically worn for longer than 6 months. Patients that receive these bags usually use them continuously until they have undergone surgery to remove their bowels completely. urostomy bag
Stoma pads are used to protect the skin surrounding the stoma area. This includes the peristomal area, where the bag attaches to the abdominal wall. In addition, this also includes the area between the stoma opening and the edge of the pouch.
These areas are vulnerable to damage caused by friction against clothing and other objects. Stoma pads come in various shapes and sizes to fit different sized pouches. Some stoma pads are disposable while others are reusable.
Disposable stoma pads should be changed frequently to avoid bacterial build-up. Reusable stoma pads can last much longer but require proper care and maintenance.
