Excerpts from BORUTO Novel.1 (Part 2)

Part 1

Now is the time for me to gush about Mitsuki and Boruto… These are all from chapter 5:

About Mitsuki and Boruto :

The two boys exchanged smiles full of innocence

Mitsuki watching Boruto and Shikadai runing away from Shino:

“Seeing how things are going… He may not be up to my expectations” he murmured with a touch of disappointment in his voice.

I find this one interesting. It’s made more obvious in latter episodes (and future novels) but Mitsuki really is testing Boruto throughout the whole first arc. Why pointing this out now? Because some are under the impression that Mitsuki just when with whatever Log said and didn’t take time to have his own opinion on the matter. Anyway, this is relevant to the current anime arc imo.

Unlike the anime, Mitsuki isn’t drowning but he’s being carried away by a strong water current 

Boruto was pursuing him with a desperate look.[…]There was not much energy left in Boruto but he was determinately swimming towards Mitsuki. “Boruto… Why… are you doing… all of this?” Mitsuki had his golden eyes wide open. He was moved by this miraculous surprise. […] Boruto had had no hesitation. He didn’t think about the consequences or the fact that he was really risking his life. Mitsuki did not understand where this determination was comming from.

Ugh, this one… I love it.

Mitsuki perceived an indescribable nascent emotion deep within him. “Look for your sun, Mitsuki.” his parent had told him before. Even a being born in darkness could illuminate the obscurity, like the moon that reflects the rays of the sun. While being with Boruto, it may turn out to be the case.

Excerpts from BORUTO Novel.1 (Part 1)

Alright so I got the 1st Novel of the Boruto novelization series. Basically, it covers the events of the anime, with some changes here and there. This one is 5 chapters long and covers the 6 first episodes. This one was publish over a year ago in Japan but whatever���

Here just some things that caught my attention (Note that these will be second hand translations):

Chapter 1:

Boruto drinks grapefruit soda. Shikadai’s drink is strawberry-flavoured.

About Hinata: 

“In the past, Hinata had very long hair. Now that she was a mother, she wore a clean and elegant bob cut revealing her neck. Boruto’s friends would often tell him that his mother was very beautiful and that she looked young”.

This one is from the anime but it’s still cute: 

Time goes by so fast … You were still little just a while ago but you’re already entering the Academy tomorrow“ his mother murmured, smiling with nostalgia and emotion. ”It was at the Academy that I met Dad for the first time. At that time a lot of things happened" “I know, you’ve already told me so many times” Boruto grumbled. Was it because they were talking about the Academy? It seemed that the ‘souvenir’ button activated into Hinata’s head. She would never get tired of talking about the past, which made her pretty face’s cheeks rosy. His son had already made the painful experience several times: it was impossible to stop his mother when she was recounting the beginning of her love story with his father.

This one… 

[Boruto] did not really have a concrete dream. Becoming Hokage or ninja did not interest him. The only thing he wanted was much more modest. He just wanted his parents to be together at homee like at Shikadai’s and all the other families.

Chapter 4:

This is when mitsuki appears for the first time, observing the kids after their Girls vs Boys rivalry:

Far off in a high place, two eyes watched what was happening at the Academy. These eyes were magnificent. They were so beautiful that they seemed to have been fabricated. Golden eyes that were reminiscent of the cold glow of a snake’s eyes.

Chapter 5:

This one takes place when Shino introduces Mitsuki to the class. 

[…]the girls were chatting too. Many of them seemed interested in Mitsuki’s mysterious beauty. Yet Inojin, Shikadai and Boruto had each inherited the beauty of their respective mothers, and their faces had regular features. However, the girls in the class pictured them as boys always fooling around. They had excluded them from the list of potentially interesting boys. Moreover, Inojin was way too much sharp-tongued.

Meanwhile, Mitsuki is described as an androgynous beauty.

Ok, so this week we will have 1-hour special episode. Besides the fight between Boruto, Sarada and team 10, I expect they would give us a slight explanation of why my snek boi left the village or at least the plan of those mystery guys. It can’t be a full hour of friends fighting each other, can it???!

Mitsuki gonna have lots of siblings....

I don’t know how to react.... Personally I don’t think Orochimaru need to make another one since my boi is perfect already :((((

And also, the way Boruto cared about Mitsuki is very admirable.
