breaking from the fandom norm here a bit but i actually do want to see eddie being a flustered mess about buck, too. i want to feel like there are stakes here that matter to him! eddie's only confident and smooth about romance when he's playing a role, wearing his Perfect Romcom Boyfriend mask, and he doesn't wear that with buck. i want to see him flounder a bit. i want them both to be disasters here.

totally valid reasons buck might not be moved out by s9

- eddie can’t find a buyer for the el paso house and needs the rent money

- buck is broke and has a bad credit score

- they’re saving money for family vacation

- buck wants to support the lemonade stand down the street

- they wanna get chris a car for his 16th birthday and need the extra cash

- buck’s jeep explodes and living together makes carpooling easy

- eddie keeps forgetting how to use buck’s fancy shower

- buck gets a dog and chris gets attached

- none of the houses “feel right”

- buck started a vegetable garden and doesn’t trust eddie to keep up with it

- streaming services stopped allowing password sharing and they want to maximize their TV options

- they keep arguing over who originally bought their favorite hoodie and need to share custody

- eddie loves buck’s mattress and the model is discontinued

these are all very good valid reasons and tim minear is most certainly taking note!!
