a/n: guess who's insane over them.. i can't stop thinking ab them.

melissa doesn't usually receive much attention. with jackie, there's nothing but attention. mel loves rambling on and on about whatever she's currently interested in. jackie adores mel, she listens, and she asks questions because she knows how much it means to her, even though she doesn't quite understand much of what mel's talking about.

melissa's voice is jackie's favorite sound, she could listen to her for hours on end. more often than not, jackie finds herself drifting off to sleep in mel's arms. she's retelling one of her favorite greek mythology stories when she realizes jackie is too quiet now, not responding with her usual 'mmhm's and 'really?'s; mel holds her closer and presses her lips to the top of jackie's head, mumbling a goodnight and thanking her quietly for listening to her.

they have constant sleepovers too !! sometimes jackie shows up with something, like an animal bone she found on the ground (she actually ventured inside the forest to find a gift for mel once and almost shit herself when a wild raccoon came out of nowhere), a rock that's oddly shaped like a perfect cube or a comic book she picked up with mel's favorite x-men character on the cover. mel always reacts the same way each time, a shy thank you and a soft kiss to the corner of jackie's lips.

jackie is physically incapable of sleeping without holding onto something. she latches onto mel within seconds of getting into bed with her. when winter comes and her comforter isn't enough to keep her warm anymore? mel is her personal heater. alsoalso jackie's hands that are always cold with melissa's that are always warm.. they're always holding hands, keeping each other regulated.

melissa is the definition of the word: loyal. she's such a lovergirl and she can't believe she scored jackie taylor of all people !! she's so proud of jackie, and so proud to be with jackie. she unironically parades around town in her i love my girlfriend graphic tee, with a silly print of jackie in the heart. jackie gets sooo flustered whenever mel wears it outside. but of course jackie has one too, hers definitely say i love my boyfriend bcz they love to match w each other !!

melissa who is always, always at jackie's service. she needs someone to hold up her mirror while she fixes her hair? mel's there. someone to carry her bags and books or even the small things she definitely could carry herself? mel's there. obviously there are times when jackie insists she doesn't need mel's help,, but she's there to shush her and do it for her anyways.

leather jackets are nat's thing. denim jackets are melissa's. you'll usually find mel with a denim jacket draped across her shoulders or wrapped around her waist, but now they're commonly found on jackie. the jacket hugs jackie's body perfectly, like it was made for her. she loves how safe and comfy it makes her feel, and it smells like mel too !! she'd be lying if she said she wasn't lowkey turned on by it though lmao

i'd like to think mel knows how to cook, she just prefers to have unhealthy amounts of kraft mac and cheese in her system. jackie on the other hand,, she should never be trusted unsupervised in the kitchen. one time she woke up extra early to try and make something for mel once. it was all so perfect in her mind !! she had decided on pancakes with a sweet affirmation on them but they were burnt to a crisp on one side and it looked like she had been struck with dyslexia halfway writing the letters..? mel scarfed them down anyways, bcz jackie made something for her and that's all that matters !! even if she did suffer the worst stomachache ever later on that day.

jackiehat movie nights,, jackie always orders takeout for the both of them (she takes half an hour choosing a restaurant as mel slowly accepts her fate of dying from starvation.) they're huddled up on the couch, sharing the chinese food jackie had settled on and watching a movie mel had insisted was peak and 'the best movie ever made' (though she says that about every movie she likes.) they sneak quick glances at each other when they think the other's not looking,, ends up getting distracted and having to rewind the movie a lot.
