roy and his taste in hats

one note about my roy har.per? unless plotted, i won't have lia back. his daughter dying had a huge impact in his life and i often feel the comics don't push through their ideas. unless plotted or it's an au, lia would be dead ( or he is unaware of some miracle survival .)

roy is a recovering addict. as well an amputee. he has a mechanical arm but he is going through recovery and the trauma response . his relationship with oliver is testy at best but they are trying to bond back.

The   mention   of   his   old   friends'   makes   the   mutant   smile,   of   course   Charles   already   reached   out,   and   just   out   of   the   goodness   of   his   heart.   "Turns   out   Charles   Xavier   might   be   the   best   person   to   do   that.   You   can   at   least   trust   he   won't   prob   until   he   has   permission."   Relationships   run   their   course   and   they   grow   cold   but   he   can   always   trust   his   old   friend   would   do   the   right   thing.  

If   he   is   offering   to   help   Sargeant   Barnes,   it   must   be   just   with   the   purest   intention,   as   infurating   that   is.   "I'm   sure   you   could   find   a   way   out   of   that   wall   faster   than   others.   At   least   your   skeleton   isn't   made   of   metal."   The   inside   joke   causes   the   old   man   to   pull   on   an   easy   smile,   bringing   finally   a   drink   to   his   lips.   The   coin   falls   to   the   table   and   picks   it   up   with   his   fingers.  

The   old   coin   a   reminder   of   where   he   had   been   during   the   war,   a   reminder   of   why   and   what   he   is   fighting   for.   "I'm   sensing   you   are   about   to   tell   me."   And   the   mutant's   body   frames   itself   to   oppose   the   other   and   face   him   at   last,   his   attention   on   the   soldier.   

HIS VIEW ON MAGNETO WOULD ALWAYS DIFFER FROM THAT OF THE REST OF THE AVENGERS. They knew he was in pain , they could recognize it and even sympathize with it but Bucky had a unique understanding of it. HE HAD LIVED THE WAR , he had lived the consequences of it. For Bucky , what had happened was deeply personal and for that reason alone , he didn't consider this man to be an enemy. He wouldn't call him a friend either , but there was an understanding there.

AN ADMISSION AS HE DRAINS THE REST OF THE DRINK IN HIS GLASS. Bucky knows that whatever is buried in there , won't stay hidden forever. He's more worried about what will happen when it comes out. Pain. He expects. He craves the good memories but he knows they're tied to the bad. There's no other way around it. "Forgetting would be worse - trust me , i get it." HE'D FORGOTTEN , MORE THAN HE'D LIKELY EVER REMEMBER - and part of him was glad that it was the hardest memories , that had come back the quickest. To forget again, would be a disservice. To himself. To his family. To others. "Kinda assumed that." He adjusts in his seat now , gaze finding Magneto with curiosity. "If you were here for a fight , i reckon you'd have chucked me through a wall by now. Your reputation proceeds you." HE CAN'T DENY THAT HE WAS FINDING THE CONVERSATION TO BE INTERESTING - and there was definitely a sense of comfortability about it , if only because he knew that what Erik was saying , was the truth. Bucky's been surrounded by people who didn't understand , who couldn't understand. Even Steve had trouble getting it. "Do you know what the worst part of it was?"
