day 5 of Greek booth camp, I had to slow down from cramming to just studying bc the rhythm I was at immediately took a toll on my Charles dickens ass frail health, so now I'm studying everyday but also watching TV and I'm happier but it also never feels like enough. and the vocabulary improvement has been only so so tbh
#also I remembered when I eavesdropped on a bit of conversation last summer and I don't think the professor in charge of this year's program#even likes the approach they are theoretically considering hiring me for. so this whole interview prep is most likely pointless#realizing that has been both freeing and big sucked#or άμα ολοφυρομαι τε και χαίρω ελεύθερη ούσα αλλά αγνοεω ο τι ποιησω τον βίος#(maybe. my coach had food poisoning and canceled today so who even knows)#I actually think it's supposed to be τον βίον here. whatever

The climb to Abano Pass, in Georgia is regarded as one of the most dangerous on Earth. Every autumn, a spectacular animal migration takes place in Georgia’s Tusheti region in the northern Caucasus Mountains. Radio Free Europe photographer Amos Chapple recently joined a group of shepherds and their dogs on what he refers to as a “deadly, boozy journey” from the steep mountains to the plains, as they brought their 1,200 sheep down to their winter pastures. tumblr users looove to make posts that are "flavor of the week trope but I take out all of the elements that characterize it so it's just about people being lame and normal but in a genre". they don't realize it and they live it and need it to live. and anD they don't know welcome to night vale did it before in like 2018

day 3-ish of spoken greek boot camp: vocabulary is slightly better but athenaze's audios are still a bizarre experience; still can't get the Latin out of my head bc it's the only ancient language that ever occupied that space before!! so I keep going "ναι, αμεινω εστιν, αλλά δει με plus μανθάνω ει το aetatis έργον εθελω έχειν..."
#if I don't get this job I'll probably lose my mind#and if I get it I'll probably loose my mind too but my greek will be so much better
