🍯 Honey Varieties 🍯
A short list of honey varieties in case you want to experiment with your recipes. Some have herbal remedy hints, and pairing ideas.
Acacia :Very popular with a mild flavor. The color is usually light yellow, but can range to brown or purple. Goes well with toast or tea. Medicinally, it is used to calm anxiety or help sleep.
Avacado :A warm, dark brown honey that is excellent for recipes that call for brown sugar. It doesnt actually taste like avocados, but mollasses or burned sugar.
Blueberry :Medium amber color with a medium aroma, blueberry honey tastes slightly buttery, with toasted almonds. Great for fruit pastries, it’s usually not difficult to find this variety.
Buckwheat :Dark brown, with a strong, distinct flavor of mollasses. A staple in southern BBQ recipes or other meats. Also used for coughs and sore throats.
Chesnut :This honey is usually too strong for recipes. It is very dark, with a slightly pungent smell and sweet, almost musty taste. It’s quite unpopular, so it isn’t easy to find.
Clover :Very common, known as “table honey”, clover honey is a light, sweet honey that can be used universally.
Cranberry :Medium-red colored and fruity, it tastes like figs or dates. Use cranberry honey for fall fruit dishes.
Eucalptus :Suprisingly, eucalptus honey tastes sweet, with notes of rose petals. It smells strong, almost smokey, and is very dark in color. Goes well with meats or potatoes.
Forest :Also known as Honeydew honey, it is produced by aphid excretion from trees in the area, such as pine. It tastes woody and sweet, and pairs with just about anything.
Hawthorn :Hawthorn honey has a natural calming effect, so it’s usually stirred into chamomile tea. The flavor is strong so it doesnt take too much to sweeten.
Lavender :Ranging from bright to dark colors, the smell is intense just like the flowers. However one spoonful can help with seasonal allergies, and it’s a good source of calcium.
Mountain :Bees collect pollen from wild herbs and flowers in non-polluted mountain areas so the flavor and color can vary. Excellent for coughs and flu.
Orange Blossom :Light yellow with a mild floral smell, it is readily avalable in early spring when orange trees bloom. It has a sour citrus flavor, so it is best used in citrus recipes.
Rasberry :Rasberry honey is slightly bitter, but still tastes like brown sugar or toffee. It smells almost woodsy, and pairs well with fruits or especially coffee.
Sage :Sage honey tastes sweet with hints of rose petals. The color can be light yellow to purple, and it smells mildly floral. It also has a light violet aftertaste. It has so much body it is one of my favorites!
Sourwood :Slightly rare, it’s only available in June or July before its all bought up. It tastes a bit like cloves or nutmeg and smells like cinnamon.
Sunflower :As yellow as it’s petals and smells just as exceptional. It can crystallize easily, if that happens just heat up the jar in some hot water. It can help with sinus problems and allergies.
Tulip Poplar :Tulip Polar honey can be used for almost any dish. It is dark orange, and smells like cooked fruits. It tastes buttery like toffee and a bit like caramel.
Tupelo :Comes from the ogeechee tree in Florida and Georgia. It is slightly rare, and doesn’t crystalize easily. Tastes light buttery and sweet, use with vegetable or chicken recipes.

✨Witchy Uses For Tea✨
A good way to unwind and replenish your energy after a spell or ritual is to relax with some tea.
🌱TEA TYPES🌿
Green tea- fire, passion, healing, love, sexuality
Oolong tea- reflection, wisdom, concentration
Black tea- earth, water, strength, stability, energy, cleansing
White tea- happiness, wisdom, purification (compliments moon energy very well)
Rose tea: love, compassion, psychic abilities, good luck, protection
Herbal tea- very versatile; best uses depend on herbs used. Examples are peppermint, spearmint, rooibos, etc.
✨ WITCHY USES 💫
If you are performing a ritual or spell that involves sending positive energies out into the universe, steep the tea nearby while it is taking place. Drink the tea when you are done- this will allow you to replenish your energies, leaving you less drained
Brew loose tea and read the tea leaves!
Drizzle honey into the tea in sigil patterns. Stirring the tea charges it (clockwise if you are attracting something, counterclockwise if you are vanishing something) and drinking it activates it!
Brew your tea with distilled drinking water that has been charged with the sun/moon to give your magic a boost!
Make your own tea blends to compliment and refine your intent
Store tea leaves/tea bags near crystal grids to charge them before brewing- the longer you charge and the stronger you brew it, the stronger the magic will be
You can add things like lemon, ginger, cinnamon, cayenne, and give your magick some oomph
You can spread tea leaves (moist, dry, used, unused, etc) as offerings, mix them into or add them on top of the soil to help plants grow (bonus if they’ve been used in healing or growth spells!), add them to melted wax for a personalized candle, etc; the possibilities are basically endless

My fellow apartment witches/witches on a budget/environment caring witches (duh)
LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO THE BEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED:
Tumblr media
Looks like a regular notebook ?
Guess again !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything written on there can be erased using a microwave !!! Which means
basically endless uses
heat activation for sigils
being able to hide your stuff if you’re still into the woods
It’s a nice alternative to burning things: no smoke (so no need to hide from your smoke detector, no toxic shit being released, no waste or paper because it’s EXPENSIVE)
Moreover
If you download the app, you can
Save everything on your phone by just scanning the codes in there!!!
And it will be sent directly to your mail/drive/virtually anything AND will be stored in the app which can be synchronised which means:
Your digital bos can have doodles in them super easily, which is great because you don’t have to struggle to insert shit anymore (I am bad at anything computer related, it takes so much time and I end up just giving up)
You’ll literally NEVER lose it even if your computer/phone dies
And it only costs around 30$/35€ on Amazon!!! No need to buy fancy paper !
And it works with frixion pens which
Can be refiled
Come in A LOT of colours
So far I’ve only used it to draw rough sketches but I’m already impressed by the results !
Tumblr media
I think I’ll first put it to use for a new year spell, writting things I want to left behind in 2017 and heating it before midnight !

Natural beauty tips!
Aloe vera: It helps with acne & softens hair. The best way to get it? Grow it yourself! (bonus: you get to use in smoothies for nutritional benefits as well).
Patchouli essential oil (diluted with jojoba oil, don’t use essential oils without diluting them first): Fades acne scars & It will literally make you glow. Massage your face & body with it. It has also emotional healing properties.
Tea tree essential oil (diluted with jojoba oil): Fades acne scars.
Bergamot essential oil (like always, diluted): Helps with acne. It has also emotional healing properties (helps with depression).
Apple cider vinegar: After showering, rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar diluted in some water. It will soften your hair & it will look beautiful. Apple cider vinegar also works as a toner & helps fade acne scars.
Witch Hazel: My fave natural toner apart from apple cider vinegar.
Rose water: Some use rose water as a toner, i use it as a natural perfume (to cleanse my aura). It uplifts mood. Remember to use a 100% natural one tho.
Jasmine essential oil: Also an aphrodisiac, will make you feel beautiful & it smells amazing. Add a little bit diluted with a carrier oil on hands/neck as a perfume!
These are just some! If you have other tips please add them to the post <3

Flame Communication: Ancestors and Deities
Introduction to Flame Communication
Flame communication is a form of conversing with deities or the dead. I usually consider it as a safer version of the ouija board, as you are not actively touching the communication material, and also because you’re not contacting strangers. When I communicate via flame, I talk to deities I know well (like Gaia) and any of my dead ancestors, especially my great grandparents.
How to Communicate Via Flame
You’ll need:
A surface that is not directly flammable (I use a plastic folder on top of my desk, but if you have anything completely fire proof then use it e.g. a thick plastic chopping board)
A candle that can stand on its own and a fire source like a match or lighter
~
Banish any unwanted spirits.
Light the candle on your fire proof surface, and cast a spell with the intention that only the person/deity you intend on talking to can enter the room.
Say, out loud or in your head:
“My name is [your name (use a name that your ancestors/deities are used to. If you have a new name, introduce it during the talk)]. I would like to talk to [deity’s/ancestor’s name], if you would like to and have the time. Please give me a flicker to let me know you’re here and willing to speak with me”.
If the flame flickers, the deity/ancestor is willing to speak with you. If the flame is still, they don’t want to speak to you at this current time. Try leaving them an offering, or come back to it another time. It might be worth considering that you might have offended them or made them mad at you, in which case you should probably express your gratitude for them and leave them an apology offering.
After your flame flickers, greet the deity/ancestor in a pleasant manner. Then, you may start talking properly with them, mostly in yes or no questions as that’s how flame communication works. A still flame means no or a negative response, a gentle flicker means yes or a positive response, and a really active flame means HELL YES, or an extremely happy and passionate response. Sometimes, the deity/ancestor will not know how to answer the question, so the flame may get lower or higher if they are confused or cannot answer with a simple yes or no. You might need to explain some words to your deity/ancestor to get them to understand.
When you are ready to close the session, say in your head or out loud:
“I would like to close this session now. I thank you for the time you have spent conversing with me”.
If the flame flickers, they are okay with you leaving the conversation. If the flame is still, just remind them why you need to leave and continue.
Say:
“Goodbye [deity/ancestor’s name], and thank you for your time. [Add any personal messages here]. On the count of three, I will blow this candle out”.
Count to three slowly, then blow the candle out in one go. Put your candle back where you usually keep it.
Advice For Candle Communication
Use different coloured candles for different deities/ancestors. I use orange for Gaia and blue for my great grandparents, usually.
If an ancestor/deity is point blank refusing to talk to you even when you’ve left them lavish offerings and worshipped them, give them one last chance to participate in talking to you. If they truly aren’t interested, say out loud that you have received their message and won’t try to talk to them again.
This might be hard, but this was the case once I came out as transgender to my deceased grandad from my mum’s side of the family. To be honest though, I did find it kinda upsetting, when someone who had seen me grow up this way every day since he died, rejected me. But then again, that’s just how life works and I have moved on.
If your deity/ancestor is too demanding and asks too much of you, you must say so. Some aren’t even aware that they’re pushing you too much, and would want to know if they were affecting you negatively in any way. If after talking to them about it, they are still too demanding and don’t seem to care, you may need to tell them to cut contact with you. Again, this may be hard, but your wellbeing is overall more important than satisfying their every need and want. You need to take time for yourself too.
Goodbye and blessed be!

• How to smudge • Smudging is a very old cleansing practice, involving dried herbs, and mostly sage. Smudge sticks can be used to cleanse a space or a house, banish negative energy and unwanted spirits, or cleanse your soul if you’re feeling sad, angry, resentful, or unwell. Smudge sticks can be bought at New Age stores, but you can also make them yourself. Here is what you’ll need to do it: • Cotton strings • Garden clippers • Dried herbs
• Steps • Cut a length of string about five feet long. Put several branches together so that the cut ends are all together. Take 4-6 sprigs and place them together, smoothing the leaves to lay down towards the stem. Then, take 3 feet of thread. Find the middle of the thread, wrap a few times around the bottom of the stems. Wind the stings tightly around the stems of the bundle, leaving approximately two inches of loose string where you began.
• Smudging herbs and their magical properties • Sage (white): Cleansing, balance, banish negativity, strengthening Cedar: Calming, comforting, purifying, protecting Lemongrass: Refreshing, communication, channeling Pine: Cleansing, renewal, strengthening Sweetgrass: Communicating with spirits, ancient wisdom Rosemary: Healing, purifying, mending, cleansing, strengthening
• To dry herbs, hang them upside-down on the ceiling for about a week. Although sometimes, it can take longer for a herb to dry completely •
