eat delicious things in every sense. savor novels that unravel slowly, like decadent meals for the mind. let sunlight kiss ur skin, bask in its warmth like an endless summer. hold close the people who make you feel alive, kiss them tenderly, love them fiercely. laugh at bad jokes, the kind that make you roll ur eyes but secretly smile. plant basil on your windowsill, water it with care, breathe in its fragrance as you stir it into your meals. be unafraid to indulge in beauty, to notice it everywhere and to consume it greedily. there is no virtue in starving yourself of joy, no wisdom in rationing delight.

You are not disgusting. You are not gross. You're not inherently dirty, unclean or contaminated. Even if you're physically unclean right now, that does not dimish your worth or respectability as a human being.
Your body is not "wrong" or "broken", if it functions differently, or on a different level compared to other people. Each body is unique. Even if your body functions in ways that would be considered flawed or embarrassing by others, it does not and should not diminish your worth and respectability.
You are lovable. You are enough. Even if you're too tired, or unable to upkeep yourself all the time. Even if your needs are considered an inconvenience by other people. You deserve to have your needs met. It's not a question of if.
Regardless of your physical or mental state, you are not disgusting, revolting, shameful or gross. You are normal, acceptable, and lovable. You are human.

Uneasy
Today I wear shoes that hurt me
because I think I’ll look better that way.
It won’t look better later when I’m limping,
strain written across my face.
& today at the meeting I was so nervous
to open my mouth but then I couldn’t shut it.
Every word a bell I can’t unring. Every face
less friendly.
Yesterday I was joy.
Unusually good things happened to me.
I thought: is this it? Is this healthiness?
I chopped vegetables and did laundry
and made mistakes and fixed them.
But holding onto that feeling was like trying to
hold water in my hands. And today I’m doubly
fragile. I feel myself sinking and sinking and I
don’t know why. I turn my eyes out to those
around me expecting them to answer.

Spill
So
spill
open.
Stretch
your arms
wide enough
to let the love in.
Even when you think
it’s not what you deserve.
I will be waiting for you at the
place where the light touches the
grass so tenderly that for a moment
you will forget you are determined
to be unkind to yourself.
I will meet you there again and again until the
forgetting becomes a habit. Until you no longer
require distraction to be at peace with yourself.
