My thoughts on PLL

Fans thought of theories that were so much more thought out. I mean this was shocking and all, but it wasn’t the kind of shock that makes you go “wow this all makes sense, this is so good.”

The problem with Pretty Little Liars is it’s massive build up.This story the writers wanted to tell could have worked well in, say, a 10-20 episode miniseries. This is not a story that should have taken 6 years to tell.

 This show is about a murder, about blackmail and threats. And it’s about the mystery surrounding them. Because it’s a mystery, we have to assume every character holds some importance, and all the major events are connected. All the clues ACTUALLY MEAN SOMETHING.

Instead most of the characters hold no real relevance to the story. And two of the most important characters, Red Coat and Black Veil, turn out to be someone who’s name we heard once in season 4 and only saw in 10 episodes of season 6. Everyone who looked suspicious wasn’t at all.

All the murders but one were accidents? We’re wondering who tried to kill Ali for 6 SEASONS and it turns out to be an accident?? The show looses all of it’s intensity because really, there was no murderer. The Liars were never really in danger.

The motive. The motive for torturing the Liars was so, so incredibly weak. They had an opportunity to make the motive Bethany’s murder. We’re thinking the whole time, “What could the girls have done that was so bad to deserve this? To deserve being blackmailed, threatened, kidnapped, tortured?” What did Ali mean when she said the Liars all know more than they remember? All the clues were there.

But, um apparently NOTHING??? Cece just got mad because they were moving on after two years and she wanted to play with them like dolls?? That is such LAZY LAZY writing!

And, please correct me if I’m wrong because I don’t know to much on the subject, but wasn’t the way they showed Cece to be transgendered in par with mental illness a little offensive? I mean I know they were not trying to say “being transgendered makes you crazy”, but because of poor writing they kind of made it come off that way.

Basically the fans came up with more intricate ways to make everything in the show tie together, to connect clues, to come up with theories that are shocking and make way more sense than what PAID WRITERS OF THE SHOW came up with.

The writers gave us so many clues that meant absolutely nothing.The answers we did get were rushed and unexplained. 80% of the show was drama that was irrelevant to the plot. So, so many plots were dropped.

Honestly if it had ended in season one with Ian having been A and Ali’s murderer due to the NAT videos, it would have been way better. At least there wouldn’t be any loose ends.

And the writers constantly lying to us didn’t help make the show shocking, it just annoyed the shit out of everyone.

The writers of the show had such a huge opportunity in their hands to make this the most brilliant mystery in television. And they blew it.

However I WILL say the actress who played Cece did a very good job and was pretty moving.

(If you actually liked the finale though than like good for you and im jealous! This is just my personal opinion)
