You know, I am a bit peeved about the fact that watcher are being called the greediest channel on youtube currently, when they literally did what few other youtube channel have done and actually took the criticism to heart and changed. Yeah, they fucked up initially but at least they admitted they did.

so the only mention of any of The Drama was when they were talking about going to the warren museum, and how they were told not to touch annabelle’s glass case. they were warned someone who did tap it later died in a car accident. so shane said he did fully tap on it but that got cut out of the final episode so people wouldn’t be encouraged to copy him lol
anyway he said he was like, ‘how long after doing it did they die?’ and joked that it was like six years. ryan was poking fun at him saying like oh so how long do you have left and shane pretended to think about it and said, ‘you know, i have a feeling it was exactly six years ago on friday’ and that was literally the only mention of the whole thing lmao

Shane: In real life - I don't - you know, I want - I want to hype him up and make sure he's feeling good, you know, but when we're in a haunted location, I want him to be as freaked out as possible. I want those eyes bulging. Ryan: They are, they - yeah. Shane: He's a bulger. Ryan: They were. They were bulgin'. My balls were bulging. Shane: [laughs] Eyeballs. Ryan: Correct.

We all understand wanting to leave YouTube. The issue here is, instead of just getting their own website and shifting the content, they are going full throttle on making their fans pay for every single aspect- including content they’d already been given for free, over multiple years.
Plenty of content creators have had their own content sites over the years, with free content and then content specifically for their paid tiers. Not unlike Patreon but everything in the same place. So that fans could enjoy their content, especially videos they’re already viewed and enjoyed for free, but they are getting their freedom and their subscriptions.
It’s a strictly business decision and that’s fine. I just hope they’re prepared for how many regular viewers they’re going to lose because people can’t afford this, or straight up just aren’t willing to pay for something they used to get to free.

My thoughts on Self-ish
The album Self-ish is a journey of self. Not a journey of self discovery, but of loss of self. Prefacing this essay with: this is entirely my interpretation, not trying to claim I know authorial intent.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, incomprehensible yet beautiful singing emanates from the unknowable horrors in the woods. It's a beautiful part of our local environment. But just remember that the woods are just as indifferent to your survival as the ocean is.

More Oregon Gothic
The rain is starting to breathe life into the woods again. You wonder how long it will be until it wakes up.
A pair of lights burn through your rearview mirror. You are the only driver here.
The headstones of the local cemetery are faint. The moss and lichen smothering them have always been here, and they'll be here long after you're gone.
The campground is usually quiet at night. You pray the wailing outside your tent is just an animal.
An injured deer hobbles by the road. It's herd gazes at you with scorn. You keep driving.
The bonfire is comforting. But in between the laughter of you and your friends after some silly ghost story and the flicker of the embers, you could almost see something vaguely human in the tree line.
The birds sound cheerful today. They sing of things you know, and things you wish you hadn't.
The lake is clear like glass and blue as the sky. But it's whispering feels like it might just pull you in.
Small carrion sits by the sidewalk. An opossum, it seems. Though from the ragged breathing and glassed eyes that follow you, you're not quite sure it's dead.
A snake jumps out from the tall grass and slithers past you. The birds flee and the frogs go silent. You'd rather not find out what they're afraid of.

dana scully character of all time. she's five foot two. her two day jobs are cutting up dead people and professional ghostbuster. she's got daddy issues. she owns a fluffy little dog. she's held multiple different government officials hostage multiple times. she kissed her boss on the mouth. she accuses said boss of trying to kill her like once a year with literally no foundation. she's catholic but her favorite movie is the exorcist. she shot her best friend. she was abducted by aliens and still refuses to believe in them. she dresses like an underpaid arts teacher. she met god in a parking garage. out of the two times the man she's been blisteringly in love with for years confessed his feelings to her, the first time she got so overwhelmed she started crying and the second time she thought he was high on painkillers. she can't park a car. she once had an existential crisis, got a tattoo, and slept with a serial killer. she wears socks on the beach. she might be immortal

Something I love about The X-Files is that the show never objectifies Scully. She’s unbelievably gorgeous, of course, and characters in the show definitely find her attractive, but the show itself never sexualizes her or reduces her to simply an object for the audience to ogle at.
She has agency and depth and convictions, but that doesn’t mean she’s not sexy. She is! The difference is that we get to come to that conclusion ourselves rather than the show presenting her as such.
We never get the gratuitous hair flips, slow shots that pan up her body, or impractical cleavage that so many female action heroes are subjected to. Everything that goes into the show — storylines, costumes, cinematography, dialogue, hair/makeup — reinforces the idea that Scully is not created for the male gaze; she is her own woman who makes her own choices about what she looks like and how she presents herself.
If anything, Mulder is more objectified than Scully, which is a refreshing deviation from the norm
