32nd Annual Lace Seminar
Our 32nd annual seminar will be held June 6, 2020 at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village. The day includes a morning lecture by Gina Maria Kleinmartin on Queen Elizabeth’s 1947 wedding gown and veil (made popular recently by Jennifer Robson’s book, The Gown) and two classes. The Saturday-only class is in beginning Limerick lace (the embroidered net tree) and no experience is necessary. Louise Colgan will be teaching the Celtic design and flamingo in Milanese bobbin lace for your choice of two days through Sunday, or three days through Monday.  A solid foundation in basic bobbin lace techniques is required for the Milanese.
Also come visit our vendors with lace books and supplies, antique lace and other needlework tools. Gina will be bringing her community art project, a very large embroidered map of the city of Buffalo, and participants can add to the embroidery.  Find your special place and embellish it with thread.
