[Spotlight] No Place to Hide by Opa Hysea Wise
As a fan of thrillers, particularly this year when theyâve helped me out of some deep reading ruts, I was pleased when the publicist for Opa Hysea Wiseâs No Place to Hide reached out to me to spotlight her newest book. It is, quote: âa captivating and fast-paced mystery thriller that is stunningly existential.â

Welcome to DCâs blog tour for Teen Titans: Beast Boy by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo. đ
Among my favorite superheroes, seeing this cast of characters portrayed by one of my favorite artists has been a blessing since I picked up Teen Titans: Raven back in June (see my review here).
Now weâre in for a treat with Garfield Logan aka Beast Boyâs entry in the series. Utilizing Gabrielâs art style and Kamiâs storytelling, Iâm looking forward to seeing how theyâll build upon the foundation of volume one.

Garfield Logan has spent his entire life being overlooked. Even in a small town like Eden, Georgia, the 17-year-old with green streaks in his hair canât find a way to stand outâand the clock is ticking. Senior year is almost over. If Gar doesnât find a way to impress the Chosen Onesâthe social elite at Bull Creek High Schoolâhe will never know what itâs like to matter. Garâs best friends, Stella and Tank, donât understand why he cares what other people think. They miss their funny, pizza-loving, video game-obsessed best friend.
Then Gar accepts a wild dare out of the blue. It impresses the Chosen Ones and his social status soars. But other things are changing, too. Gar grows six inches overnight. [Review] Across the Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire
[Review] Across the Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire
Every year I look forward to a new Wayward Children book. This year, a blessing was that I was able to read 2021âs Across the Green Grass Fields early and when I tell you I was excited, that is underselling my reaction to the news that I could do so by a lot.
The hope, the magic, the adventure, the underlying darkness that each volume reveals is an experience that makes January a thing to lookâŚ

[Publisher Blog Tour] Review - He Started It by Samantha Downing
[Publisher Blog Tour] Review â He Started It by Samantha Downing
The premise of Samantha Downingâs first novel, My Lovely Wife, about a husband and wife who kill together, was such an amazing concept that I knew I wanted to put it on my tbr right away. It had all the pings for a book I wanted: morally bwuh characters, will they or wonât they get caught, and against the grain âwho are we rooting forâ plot.

The topic of the week is Books I Wish Iâd Read As a Child. As long ago as that was đ (not really, but it feels like it), I canât quite remember everything I read, but there are some recent favorites that I know would have made a world of differenceâŚ

[Tag] The Animal Crossing Book Tag
After a morning playing the Stalk Market, what better way to take a break than an Animal Crossing book tag? đ
I played a lot of Animal Crossing on the DS, not so much the GameCube. The bug has bitten me with New Horizons, though, and I am loving it. đ
I wasnât tagged, but I saw Pauliina @ Bookaholic Dreamer do this tag today and thought Iâd do it as well.

[Top Ten Tuesday] Books With One Word Titles
[Top Ten Tuesday] Books With One Word Titles
As a fan of fantasy and sci-fi novels, Iâm used to some fairly long titles, especially if theyâre part of a series because then that becomes part of the mouthful. đ This weekâs TTT topic is interesting because it poses the question, what about one word title books? I had to have a good think after the first couple that sprang to mind, which was fun because the digging led me down some rabbitâŚ

Growing up Iâll admit that I saw Cinderella a ton and thought that it was fairly basic: she wanted to go to the ball, dance with the prince, and that was about it. Holy crap is there so much more to the story though? Disney does a number on you. đ

[Blog Tour] Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin - Review
[Blog Tour] Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin - Review @WednesdayBooks
Retellings are a particular favorite form of storytelling. Among the ones Iâve read are typically fairy tales, such as Beauty & the Beast (Brigid Kemmererâs A Curse So Dark & Lonely) or Snow White (the Evil Queenâs story in Julia C. Daoâs Forest of a Thousand Lanterns).
Hannah Capinâs Foul is Fair, however, delves into a darker, more delicious corner of retelling by taking up the mantle of aâŚ
