STOP FEEDING FFXIV TROLLS
Ever since before Dawntrail's launch there has been a slow yet steady uptick of Trolls who say they play FFXIV but constantly use the same talking points about how it's a dead game or the devs do not care or it never improves etc etc. Yet people keep falling for their tricks. Some of you may be new to these tactics and want to so passionately fight for the game but DO NOT INTERACT! These are people or maybe even bots, who are or have been created to cause players stress and dishearten them about their favorite game. Their singular purpose is to weaken you and tire you out of what you love. I understand that yes there is discussions to be had for the game to improve BUT ITS BEEN IMPROVING. Ever since Endwalker there has been over 280 quality of life changes that have been made to the game and its systems that people have taken for granted. Said QoL updates:
Remember we love and play FFXIV despite its flaws. The memories and happiness the game has given us.
REMEMBER why we love our game.

If you deal with any haters hit em with the ol' jaz hands People were still having fun with how shitty the game used to be and people will still have fun with it with "whatever x complaint is now" Don't let haters and troll dictate what you find fun.
#my grating complaint is healers being “obsolete” or becoming that way#like 1. they will never be “useless” because it is an mmo and you need healing classes to be a true mmo#2. there are much better ways to speak about actual critiques of the role structure without sounding so vapid about it#had to listen to people go over that debate again in puppet's bunker last night bc of the update about phoenix downs

Just their rhythm — grown kids tossing ideas, two dads batting back teases, a sister’s snort cutting through the noise… That warm, imperfect symphony they’ve rehearsed for years.

Blood and Ceruleum
The bit where I talk about my WoL lore under the cut
Hallima never calls Kotoli and Mazel his parents, but they're definitely the closest thing he's ever had to it, and the feeling was definitely mutual.
So needless to say, Garuda was an especially bad time for ARR Hallima.
ngl when i came up with this particular bit of Hallima's backstory I was not expecting or considering the narrative parallels between him and Gaius. It's a layer I've been enjoying exploring lately, even if i havent had the time or energy to write or draw it all out properly.
It also kinda made me realise that while ShB and Endwalker were more Harrowing for Halli, ARR was probably more outright traumatizing. Sure he could have died/turn sin eater and lost everyone in shb/ew... but they didnt. ARR tho cost him both their parental figures, Kotoli to Garuda's tempering (and then subsequently Gaius/Ultima), and Mazel to grief.
Meeting Gaius again in the Burn after that was... tense. I'm still not sure who struck the final blow on Kotoli but either way there was definitely a not insignificant part of Hallima that blamed Gaius for her death. It was only by virtue of Gaius returning Alphinaud's body (safe and alive, if comatose) that they parted without blows. (The past still hurts, but his present- his siblings- are more important)
and then Werlyt happens.
And Hallima sees the flip side of the coin, of watching the parent lose beloved children and being unable to stop it. of being the hand that brings their lives to an end. Of seeing all those wrongs Gaius once committed coming back to hurt him in the worst possible ways only after he has realised they were wrong and tried to start the tides of change.
Gaius doesn't blame him for being the one to kill his children. Even if it was by necessity, Hallima would understand if he did. Gaius didn't know what Kotoli meant to Hallima when she was killed. Hallima knows very well what Gaius' children mean to him as he ends their lives one by one.
He doesn't have it in him to hate Gaius anymore. Not after that.
Allie is added to Hallima's list of routine vistations, just under Halric. Hallima isn't really a talker, but they try. For them.
