You hurt. All the time. Constantly. Every second. But most of the time you don’t let me see it. I don’t know if it’s to protect me Or yourself. There’s nothing more aggravating, more infuriating, Than knowing you are hurting. Knowing that someone made you hurt, And I can’t do a damn thing about it. I know that things are so fucking hard right now, Baby, I do. But I swear on my own fucking life that things WILL get better. And I know people tell you that all the time But it’s the truest thing that I have ever written. I just want to take you into my arms And wrap you in an embrace And keep you from harm. I want to take you away to a place where no-one will ever be able to hurt you again. But as much as I would love to take you away I can’t. Not now at least. So until then I will make you a promise. I promise one day you won’t feel the roughness of his hand on your back You will only feel the love from mine. I promise one day A kiss from your children Will be the only thing you will need to get through the day. I promise that one day you will never again feel the need to push that self destruct mode on your wrists. I promise that the one day You will only know laughter And happiness And love.
