cas fans acting like dean and cas drew the same short straw are really starting to irritate the shit out of me. no, it’s not the same. it’s not the same.
cas died happy and with dignity. he said what he had always wanted to say. he died for love. he didn’t even really die. he was pulled into the empty. he was essentially taking a fucking nap. and, by the way, it was then heavily implied in the finale that jack had pulled him out of the empty and he was alive again, helping jack fix and presumably run heaven. so really he’s fine. bully for him.
dean died a week or two after finally gaining the freedom he had never before had. he fought for his entire life - and then some - for freedom and he had that freedom for a week. he wanted to live. he got a job. he had a dog. he was happy and he wanted, finally, after all those years of suffering and pain, to live a life, a real one. and instead he died an agonizing death, terrified and in pain in what can only be described as an insultingly farcical accident. for nothing.
it’s not the fucking same and you’ve got some nerve trying to say it is.

No, Dean didn't get his "perfect" ending.
No, Dean didn't deserve to die. No one deserves to die young, in pain and terrified, of a freak accident, lest alone the indomitable Dean Winchester.
No, Dean didn't want to die young, he thought he'd die young because of his dangerous profession. A soldier fighting in an all-out war thinks he will die young, expects to die young, but he doesn't want to die young. He doesn't deserve to die young. It's not a perfect ending for a soldier to die young on battlefield. Do you understand?
When your life is full of pain and trauma, when your psyche is as damaged as Dean's was, you start to expect the worse for yourself. You don't dare to hope or dream for a better future for yourself. Not because you feel unworthy, but because you know that nothing good will happen to you, that there's no light at the end of the tunnel for you. Shattered dreams hurt more than anything else so you learn to stop dreaming. And Dean, whose life was one cosmic torture session, who was nothing but a plaything for a sadistic God, had all the reasons to not hope. To not dream.
So fuck you bibros/Sam stans if you think Dean got his "perfect" ending, if you think Dean deserved to die young three weeks after finally finding freedom. That it was Dean's destiny. You're nothing but a sadistic pos so I hope you're proud of being one.

SPN 15.20 coda
“I got a job.”
Sam looked up, his brow furrowing as he quickly swallowed his coffee. “Where are we going?”
Gulping, Dean clenched his jaw. “It…It’s not that kind of job.” Sam blinked, clearly confused. “I’m tired, Sammy.” He shook his head, rubbing his hand over his face and pinching the bridge of his nose. “We’ve done fucking everything. Literally. It’s just…It’s just not worth it anymore.”
Sam set his coffee down with enough force that some nearly sloshed over the rim of his mug. “But-but what about the job? The saving people, hunting things bullshit you fed me all those years ago to drag me back into this mess? Aren’t we still gonna do that?”
Dean shrugged, looking up at the clicking of Miracle’s claws on the tile floor, smiling as he hurried over to him, tail wagging. His head rested on his thigh and he looked up at him with those big, adorable brown eyes, his tail wagging faster as he stroked his shaggy head. “You can, if you want.”
Sam scoffed, and Dean didn’t have to look up to know that he was probably rolling his eyes. “I thought this is what you were all about, Dean!” He didn’t look up from Miracle as Sam’s voice raised. “You can’t just leave this life. This is what you were made to do, and you know it.”
He huffed a quiet sigh, Miracle licking his hand as he stopped petting him and finally met his brother’s livid gaze. As much as he hoped that Sam would be understanding, he expected this. The anger, the resentment. He couldn’t even blame him, since he would have probably felt the same way if he were in Sam’s shoes.
“You can keep hunting if you want to. My number isn’t gonna be changing, so if you need me, just call.” He pushed away from the table, and Miracle ran to the hallway, looking back at him as he stared down at Sam, who was now avoiding his gaze with stony silence. “See ya, Sammy.”
Sam didn’t so much as look at him, though he did feel the weight of his gaze as soon as he turned his back. He packed quickly, and he stared down at the dufflebag that held all of his possessions. He’d been in this world too long to have made such an insignificant mark.
But that was all about to change.
“Come on, boy,” he said, picking up his dufflebag and smiling at Miracle’s excited yip. “Let’s load up.”
Silence greeted him as he made his way through the bunker this one last time. Miracle sat excitedly by the door, his tail wagging harder as he let him out into the yard. He bounded for the car, hopping through the open window and curling up on the front seat, his tail thumping against the worn leather as Dean slid behind the wheel.
The Impala purred to life as he turned the keys, the chorus of “I’ve Been Everywhere” playing as he pulled out of the yard and onto the road. Wind tore through the open windows, buffeting him as he picked up speed.
Something stirred in his chest, something he didn’t recognize at first. It took a few moments for him to realize that it was peace.
He was done.
That life was firmly behind him. He had been to hell and back – literally – and he survived. Nothing and no one could ever, would ever take that away from him.
Breathing came a little easier at this realization. He could work a 9-5 like everyone else. He could settle down with someone. Start a family, if he wanted.
Smiling now, Dean turned up the radio and pressed the gas a little harder.
He was free.
Finally.

Are we gonna mention that SAM WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE AT DEAN'S FUNERAL?!?! Everyone Dean's helped over the years, the 'found family' the writers kept mentioning, and nobody turned up? Jack restored everyone, so surely they should have turned up. Did Sam even tell them, Donna did get an FBI agent to ring Dean. Either way, they should have known and been there. Jody, Garth, Donna, other Bobby, surely one of them would have come!!
And if this is because of covid, they should have waited longer to film the ending Dean deserved, the ending we all deserved. We've seen large hunters funerals, with parties afterwards. Dean Winchester deserved that, and so much more!

Dean Winchester, you deserve the whole world and more, it’s not what we expected but you’re finally free from the writers.
What they did to you didn’t change my love for you.
I loved you, I love you and I will always love you.

You’d think Dean could have Heaven with his mother like he always wished could happen, but oh, no, wait, Dabb ruined her character too. Better sit in your car, reuniting with no one, like a chump and just wait for Sam. No life, relationships, anything outside your pissant baby brother that spent his whole life doing shit like strangling you for objecting to him drinking the liquefied essence of evil out of innocent nurse’s jugulars and forcing you to kill your friends, and couldn’t even squeeze out an “I love you too” as you bled out. That’s paradise, baby

Fuck man, Jensen Ackles investing 15 years of his life, his talent, blood, and tears into Dean Winchester and this small tv-series.
Jensen Ackles A-star level actor declining other roles in big shows and movies like avengers out of loyalty and respect for Dean and the SPN fandom. Jensen Ackles, who could’ve easily earned an oscar had he left the show for something else.
Jensen Ackles leaving his family for 9 months every year to shoot the show.
Jensen Ackles calling Dean his friend and saying that he’ll carry him inside for the rest of his life. Jensen Ackles caring about Dean like no writer ever did, making deliberate changes to the way he portrayed Dean in order to reflect what Dean had been through and how it changed his character. Who analysed the shit out of scripts and made sure they were true to Dean’s character and journey, putting SO MUCH thought into his every single acting decision.
Jensen Ackles, who hated the ending, but was told convicted that he was wrong about it, that he was “too close”, when in reality he was THE ONLY who knew what was right and who Dean was all along.
Jensen Ackles, who worked so hard for so long and gave up so much to make Dean so relatable, admirable, lovable, and complex like no other character out there….only to have him ended like that…
We all deserved better and we all have been spat in the face, but no one more than Jensen Ackles & Dean Winchester. And while I am angry for myself, I am fucking furious for them.

This is what happens when you reduce a character to nothing but a bunch of ships. This is what happens when you deny agency to a character and make him revolve around your favourite ship. You never cared for Dean. You cared for wincest. For destiel. For the profound bond, for bro bond. For your stupid ships.
This fandom is equally responsible for Dean's fate. This fandom never treated him with love or respect, instead they objectified him, used him as a prop for Cas or Sam. Even now, most of you don't care for Dean, or his happiness, no you only care about your ships.

jensen ackles didn’t turn down the role of captain america, name his business after the show, dedicate his entire life to spn, find a reason to live through dean’s courage, overcome anxiety because of the fandom, and find his best friends from the show for the cw to treat him like garbage
