Updates: my bra doesnt feel as snug on me anymore. My chin and cheeks are not as chubby or bloated. The back of my pants feels more loose. I hope I'm not losing my ass because that happens 😭. Jeans are hugging my waist and not pinching it.

Treadmill: 2 miles / 40 mins / 2.5 incline / 3.5-4.5 speed
Plank: 90 secs w/ arms straight out on mat (changed form to target triceps, moving forward with this)
Arms: 30 reps each, 5 lbs dumbells each arms
Lateral raise w/ twist
Overhead triceps extension (single 5 lbs)
Bent over row
Overhead press
My arms felt like jello half way into the sets. I can already predict when doms sets in tmrw, my arms will fall off and ill have to regrow another pair of triceps 😭
Note to self: my legs are short. For most people, every one step that they take is two steps for me. Running at a slower speed does not dictate my fitness level as long as I'm able to see progress. I am running at the speed that makes the most sense for me. Also, I can't be afraid to look like a fool when I try something new otherwise I'm never going to do it. My form isn't perfect but that's what I'm striving to be.

Today was a difficult day. I couldn’t raise my heartbeat to 170-175 range without feeling like I was gonna die from exhaustion. I think it’s because I’m working out during my luteal phase. My workouts are always the worst during that time of the month. And I haven’t been eating enough protein as well to counter the calories spent.

I would love to learn how to jump rope effortlessly and learn tricks because it’s just one of those bodily movements that I am not coordinated enough to get it correctly but I still want to try. I never knew how to double Dutch jump rope and I was always so jealous of the girls who could. Like how do you know when to jump in????

Note to self: DO NOT go to the gym before 7pm again especially on a Wednesday evening. There’s too many people and I hate people.

Today I found out that my scale has been LYING to me. I’m actually 10lbs heavier than what it was telling me. 😭
It makes sense because I thought I was just getting old and that’s why my body and face looked different. 😢

I think one of my biggest fears about losing weight is that if I ever get below 120 lbs, I’m afraid I’m gonna get snatched up. And when I say snatched up, I mean getting lifted up by a 6ft tall rando man on the streets and thrown into an unmarked vehicle. I’m 160 lbs right now and I do not fear getting snatched up because some people can’t lift that heavy unless they’re a body builder, and I’ve only seen 6ft tall body builders at the gym. Anyone can easily lift 120 lbs. That is one of my fears about being a woman and being short and being “normal” weight. 🙄

Check in: my large leggings I bought back in September for my AL trip are starting to look loose on me. There is give in the thigh areas. My knees are coming back. There is a noticeable gaps in the armpits holes on my pink tank top. I’ve noticed my stomach isn’t as round anymore and where the fat and muscles are on my core is noticeable now. My face doesn’t look as bloated anymore. A win is still a win even if I don’t think I’m losing enough yet.

So I was reading up on how to activate my core and glutes and I just found out I've been engaging my core incorrectly my whole entire life. I'm supposed to be sucking in towards my spine to activate it. This whole time I've been pushing down and activating my lower back, not my core. 🤦🏻‍♀️ No wonder my core is weak af.
Also note: I am working on my posture. My whole life my thunder thighs have been blocking my ability to stand up correctly because I haven't been planting my feet straight and that affected my glute development. My knees are also whack af and I want them to stop clackityclacking.

The first time I tried doing this I got down to 145lbs and I was plataueing and couldn't lose anymore weight. I still ate the same and increased my milage on running but was not able to go down for whatever reason. At this point I had lost 50lbs already and the extra 10-20lbs felt impossible.
The good thing about this time is that I'm not starting at such a high weight. It took me about 2 months to build a habit to workout 3-4 times a week, about 7 months to lose that amount of weight, and the whole entire time I had to rewire my brain on how I view food.
I think the most difficult thing about weight loss is that I know I have bad eating habits at time. I indulge myself too often. My depression, anxiety, and mood affects my effort levels and my willingness to want to continue further. Hiccups in my routine feels like a life altering roadblock and it can be difficult for me to pull myself away from it and restart.
Exercising and eating healthy was part of the discipline in weight loss that I was able to manage, but my mentality, my inner demons, and who I was as a person was another disciplinary aspect that I struggled with more. If my mental health was not doing well, I often sink. That will always be my biggest struggle. Running to lose weight changed my outer appearance but I couldn't always run away from who I was internally.
The weight loss definitely gave me a boost of confidence but that was short lived and temporary. This time I want something that will last forever.
