My prussia headcanons because he’s stupid and I love him

• ~ Prussia is not good at communication when it comes to relationships, he tries to show that he wants to understand what you’re going through or if something is wrong, but he ends up doing it in an aggressive manner.

•~ Prussia raps! Prussia tries to rap but he’s totally blind and produces the most diabolical things known to man and thinks it’s good.

•~ Prussia is really good in bed, he definitely learned a thing or two from those magazines he reads on his free time.

•~ Prussia is a huge softie but hides it behind a tough demeanor. Whenever he gets embarrassed of something or breaks his persona, he scoffs and says that he only did that because he felt pity. He tends to do this when he’s concerned for Germany.

•~ the bad touch trio are each others friends with benefits. They like to have sex every now and then, and say ‘no homo’ afterwards. There isn’t no specific role assignments, they’re all switches.

•~ Prussia has an embarrassing photo of Germany and uses it against him. He threatens to show the photo to everyone to get Germany to do something for him.

•~ Prussia is like SUPER GOOD at video games. He wins almost every game. He asks Germany to 1v1 him in game and he wins every round. Whenever he looses a game, he gets mad and says that you’re cheating and that he technically won.

•~ Prussia likes to sing, he sings all the time, extra obnoxious around Germany just to piss him off.

Countries have their own jobs outside of just being the country and taking care of county businesses (aka setting up organizations, policies, unions, etc.) for example, Germany is a car mechanic. Italy and Romano work at a small little pizza shop together. Hungary would be a healthcare professional, maybe a doctor or pediatrician (it’s one of the most in-demand jobs in Hungary currently). The countries see picking up these jobs as a way to connect to their people more.

I like to imagine that Prussia works for the Jungendamt (Youth Office). It’s basically Germany’s version of Child Protective Services.

Prussia forever, my boy is not dying anytime soon.

But I pose a different theory on why Romano might not have the same side effects as Prussia. I think maybe it could be the cultural divides, let me explain. The cultural divide between East and West Germany is definitely there, separation for what, 40 years? One under Communism snd one under Capitalism, there’s definitely gonna be differences to work out. But I think that the unified Germany recovered rather quickly, the difference is there but it’s slowly being reduced. Hence the reason Prussia may be getting weaker.

Meanwhile, the cultural divide in Italy from North to South is HUGE. I mean, even from state to state you’re bound to have cultural differences in dialects. It is wild how different North is from the South, it’s way more drastic than in Germany. That’s why Romano is still there without getting weaker, he still has a very solid identity.

Those are just my thoughts, I’m really into studying the Warsaw Pact and East Berlin too btw

My Theory on what exactly is going on with Prussia and his immortality

Something that has always bothered me about Hetalia is the fact that Prussia and Romano are both in the same boat and yet only Prussia’s immortality seems to be in question. Only he seems to have issues with regenerating now at human speeds. I also hate to admit I have spent way too many hours on this but I think I finally have a working idea that works with cannon.

Now I am a sorta armchair expert on East/West differences in Germany. I am obsessed with everything from the cold war and eastern block as well as the after effects of it. Not only that my bestie's grandma in-law is an East German and we have often talked about East Germany as she loves to tell me her stories. She calls me an honorary Ossi not to brag or anything. 😏

So when I finally read up on the difference between south and north Italy I let out a ‘What the fuck? How is Prussia even dying when Romano is not?!’ and then prayed no one in my family heard me say that so loud.

Now I am going to start with the kicker. That was the post private concert. If I remember correctly it was about 2014 when that strip was released, give me a little leeway, I was like 15 at the time. There isn’t really any solid pin point on the exact date it was set in other than post Berlin wall so I am just assuming it is also 2014.

So if we go off when reunification was completed in 1990 we can safely assume its 24 years on from Prussia no longer being a nation. Also by the fact Prussia is suddenly so pushy for Germany to learn the flute and in essence pass the torch on to him it is also likely the first time this has happened to Prussia.

Now the unification of Italy finished in 1861, leaving a whole 80 years between this and WW2. Yet we clearly see in Hetalia that Romano had not remotely lost his immortality, since you know, he isn’t dead from the war and he's still kicking about 160 years later. You mean to tell me Romano in this time didn’t get majorly hurt once? ROMANO?

So then why is this not ever brought up with Romano too? Well it could but Hima just never touched on it, or doesn’t care. However, that is boring, so let me introduce you to the phrase:

‘The higher you climb the harder you fall’.

Let's be real here, Romano was always… well… kinda pathetic. Meanwhile Prussia was one of the most major powers in Europe. So for Romano his body is used to the meek amount of power that being a region is and no changes are happening to him or his regeneration abilities. Nothing has really changed for him.

Prussia on the other hand had great power and had it all vanish in less than a century. A short time for a country. So maybe it isn’t his dying but his body is so used to having so much power it's struggling to adapt to the lower power he has now. Leading to things such as reduced healing, possibly even making Prussia more prone to illness and pain. 

As for why it would only show up 24 years later, it was likely a more slow creep. It just happened to slap him in the face as a cold truth 24 years later. So in essence his body isn’t used to being a region and is going to take time to adapt if it ever does and in that time he will be more human like in his healing and likely sickly.

And for how he doesn’t know this is normal for a nation as powerful as him, simply put it, he wouldn’t tell anyone about it. He is willing to hide it from Germany, likely the person he trusts most in the world, so he isn’t going around telling Brandenburg or Saxony. Honestly he doesn’t even seem to care about his brothers all that much other than Germany and Holy Rome.

So his only reference point is HRE, who died quickly and got sick. It makes sense he believes full heartedly he is dying. However unlike him, where East German is still an identity, Holy Roman was never really an identity. 

So in conclusion, Prussia isn’t dying yet just like Hima said. He was just so powerful his body is struggling to adapt to being a region, hence why unlike Romano, he is plagued by slow healing and potentially health problems.

So write your angst away and bask in the fact our dearest Preuchen is safe and sound as a region just kinda a little weak and sickly now.
