It’s been a while. I plan on taking my main blog down soon and making a fresh start. This one will go down with it of course.

I’m posting now in case there’s any people who still look at those old posts I did to get an idea of if there’s any interest in reuploads. I’m not in the fandom anymore and haven’t been for years, but if those old posts still hold some meaning to people who are still here, I’ll take the time to make sure they’re preserved.

Credit goes to Hetarchive for the translated panels. I want to ramble a bit about France and America and this interesting side of their relationship that’s easy to miss. On America’s side, he has nearly lost his patience with and threatened France twice now. 

Meanwhile, France is visibly intimidated by these threats when they happen and has said in another instance that he finds the way America and Russia hide malicious feelings underneath carefree, happy facades to be scary.

Compare this to how England reacts to America’s more threatening side. When America broke apart a bundle of spoons to try and intimidate everyone into agreeing with an idea of his, England wasn’t even phased and started laying into him and the idea anyway. Regardless of how America is acting, England doesn’t find him intimidating and is very confident that America wouldn’t harm him. France doesn’t seem to have that confidence and there’s a side of America he thinks is scary.  America and France are overall on good terms and there’s moments like when France gave America the Statue of Liberty that show they have a good relationship. But small moments like these can help with getting an idea of what the extent of their closeness is.

I know America is supposed to canonically be a fashion disaster, but Hima really didn’t need to give him that green jacket and then combine it with a blue uniform to get across that point.

I’m increasingly convinced that one of the objectives of the anime is to remind viewers that America is hot.
