                    no  one  put  blair  in  a  corner  ...  or  so  she’d  always  told  herself  .  in  this  situation  ,  one  completely  out  of  her  control  ,  someone  quite  literally  had  put  blair  in  a  corner  .  nothing  about  this  was  very  hepburn  ,  and  she  was  certain  her  skirt  was  ruined  .  yet  ,  she  scrubbed  ,  desperately  ,  in  an  attempt  to  get  the  stain  out  .  “  get  away  from  me  .  can’t  you  see  i’m  in  the  middle  of  a  crisis  ?  suede  is  impossible  to  clean  ,  and  you’re  in  my  light  ,  so  ...  go  .  like  ,  now  .  ”

Josie was growing more and more uneasy with every passing minute.  She hated feeling powerless, and she hated knowing that her friends and family could very well be out in the storm and she couldn’t do anything to stop it.  She’d been wishing this whole time for a familiar face, just to give her some sort of clue that the people she cared about were safe.  But so far, she’d come out empty handed.  Being locked in a cellar wasn’t anything she’d ever experienced before, but it felt a lot like the time she’d been buried alive by her resurrected biological mother.  The cellar might have been more spacious, but she felt just as claustrophobic as she had then, and just as scared.  She had been thinking hard, trying to come up with some way to contact someone, when she was snapped back to reality by the feeling of someone grabbing onto her.  The familiar face caused her eyes to widen and the corners of her mouth to turn slightly upward.  “Yeah, I know who you are.”  She replied, reaching out to help her up.  Elena was practically family to Josie, seeing how close she was to her mom.  She smiled for the first time in what felt like days.  “God, Elena, it’s so good to see you.”

                    elena’s  stomach  filled  with  dread  ,  doe  eyes  widening  with  momentary  fear  .  as  hard  as  she  searched  ,  there  was  no  recollection  of  this  girl  anywhere  in  ever  the  deepest  crevices  of  her  mind  .  had  she  perhaps  known  katherine  ,  pretending  to  be  her  ?  it  wasn’t  impossible  ,  but  with  katherine  long  gone  and  her  compulsions  worn  off  ...  it  didn’t  make  sense  .  “  i’m  sorry  ,  but  ,  do  i  know  you  ?  ”  maybe  she’d  been  a  patient  ,  a  name  forgotten  to  the  sea  of  people  she’d  treated  thus  far  .  her  smile  was  awkward  and  a  little  shy  ,  cheeks  daring  to  flush  the  slightest  hint  of  crimson  .  she  took  the  girl’s  hand  regardless  ,  pulling  herself  to  her  feet  and  hoping  ,  praying  ,  something  would  jog  her  memory  .

𝙵𝙴𝙰𝚃𝚄𝚁𝙸𝙽𝙶  …  osiris  boggs  !

Siris  was  playing  solitaire  on  his  phone. Convincing  himself,  he  was  there because  bad  things  happened  to  people  who  knew  Katie  Fitch.  Period.  He does  his  job  to  stay  upright,  when  someone  uses  him  for  support.  Siris’ eyes  travel  to  the  puddle  he  had  almost  slipped  into  with  her.

“Elena…will  this  be  happening  a  lot?  Contracting  ringworm  from  a  puddle  is  not  on  my  bucket  list.’

                    embarrassed  was  an  understatement  ,  but  there  was  hardly  time  for  that  .  the  brunette  was  quick  to  stand  ,  laughing  softly  at  herself  as  she  worked  to  tie  her  sweater  around  her  waist  .  walking  around  with  a  wet  spot  on  her  behind  was  a  recipe  for  further  humiliation  of  the  likes  she  was  not  interested  .

                   “  no  !  i’m  usually  better  on  my  feet  than  this  .  but  ,  i  should  tell  you  :  contracting  ringworm  from  water  is  pretty  unlikely  .  you’re  more  likely  to  be  infected  by  some  dirty  surface  you  set  your  phone  on  .  ”

               she’s  bleeding  .  she’s  not  entirely  sure  how  the  hell  that  was  possible  ,  but  it  was  causing  her  pale  features  to  look  even  more  pale  ——  if  that  was  capable  .  her  eyes  were  beginning  to  feel  as  though  they  were  hallowed  sockets  ,  hand  gripped  tightly  to  her  side  where  the  switchblade  had  entered  her  skin  at  such  a  quick  pace  that  she  hadn’t  initially  noticed  that  she  was  enduring  a  wound  .  the  pain  was  torturous  ,  showing  rosalie  that  there  was  a  price  to  pay  during  this  lockdown  ,  a  price  that  she  desperately  wanted  to  be  paid  .  she  was  trying  to  find  somewhere  quiet  ,  a  dark  place  where  she  could  be  in  peace  ,  try  to  tend  to  the  wound  without  even  thinking  about  those  around  her  .  she  couldn’t  let  edward  see  her  like  this  ,  couldn’t  allow  anyone  to  pity  her  ;  she  was  still  rosalie  fucking  hale  .  the  feeling  of  someone  grabbing  onto  her  sleeve  almost  caused  her  to  fall  down  ,  hissing  at  the  pain  that  radiated  from  the  slice  in  her  side  that  was  making  one  of  her  favourite  sweaters  stain  bright  red  .  ‘‘  i  don’t  ———-  care  about  your  name  .  ’’  she  finally  said  ,  breathlessly  .

                   𝚃𝙷𝙴  𝙷𝙰𝚁𝚂𝙷𝙽𝙴𝚂𝚂  𝚂𝙷𝙾𝚄𝙻𝙳'𝚅𝙴  𝚂𝙷𝙾𝙲𝙺𝙴𝙳  𝙷𝙴𝚁  ,  𝙱𝚄𝚃  𝙸𝚃  𝙳𝙸𝙳𝙽'𝚃  .  most  people  in  elena’s  life  were  cruel  upon  their  initial  meeting  .  not  a  single  one  of  her  relationships  had  been  easy  ,  or  without  pain  of  some  sort  .  not  to  say  she  was  aching  for  a  new  friend  ,  or  searching  for  one  in  this  stranger  .  quite  the  opposite  ,  if  she  were  to  be  asked  .  elena’s  one  concern  was  helping  others  and  moving  on  .  she’d  learned  the  hard  way  that  getting  attached  was  foolish  .  “  ...  okay  .  are  you  alright  ?  you  don’t  look  alright  .  i’m  a  doctor  ,  i  can  help  .  ”  it  was  a  blessing  that  she  was  so  patient  ,  or  she  might’ve  walked  away  without  so  much  as  a  second  glance  .  she  often  had  to  remind  herself  that  she  wasn’t  katherine  .  her  intentions  were  good  ,  always  ;  she  hoped  .
