The thing that really gets me about "I think it might have been better for him if I was the one who got shot," is like........yeah??? I mean, obviously it would be better for a child if their parent was spared????? That's just a given, why are we even talking about it.
Like, Buck is actually totally and completely rational in saying, "I don't matter as much as you do, because you're Chris's dad." He's not being stupid in that moment. He's stating something that should be obvious. To Eddie. To the audience. To everyone.
But then the reaction Eddie has is soooooooo "what the actual fuck are you talking about" that you realize, oh, that's not how the narrative wants you to see it at all. Eddie reacts the exact same way you'd expect him to react if it was Shannon sitting there saying it would be better if it was her. He reacts the exact same way you'd expect him to react if he and Buck were married and Buck has adopted Chris years ago. He reacts like they are both equally important figures in Chris's life, and it's wrong to argue about who should survive.
Buck takes this very understandable survivor's guilt to Eddie like, "I feel awful that you can't be there for your son, and he's stuck with me instead," and in a moment where most single parents would simply be freaking out about how close they came to leaving their child an orphan, Eddie's response is instead, "Excuse you? That's our son. And he needs you too."
HELLO?? WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE? GET THEM OUT ALREADY.

Is it too much to ask for Buck or Eddie to fall on top of the other, and then there’s all that breathy tension and they lay like that a little longer than necessary because they’re caught up in their feelings. Then it’s kind of awkward once they get up because they’ve been close but never like that and it makes certain feelings harder to ignore.

It’s the fact that this season Ryan is more open to sharing and tagging Oliver on his Instagram that’s making me side eye them and be hopeful than ever. Usually it’s Oliver but the fact that Ryan’s not only tagging and sharing photos that Oliver has taken, but also posting his own photos he’s taken of Oliver is such a bold statement. Things have shifted for real 😅

Oliver and Ryan are almost the same height. But I would love a scene where the slight difference is acknowledged.
They are kissing someplace and Eddie mentions that he is not used to leaning up for kisses. So Buck hoists him up on a table or a counter or something. And Buck is now the one looking up and he asks Better?

Lmao not people mad that Oliver and Ryan are friends and Oliver and Lou don’t seem to be. Like grow up this isn’t about a ship….they’re coworkers. Sometimes you’re good friends with coworkers sometimes not. Like grow up and leave Oliver alone. How old are these people because they sound like they’re 13.

honestly sometimes i miss s1 bratty little bitch buck. all bucks r my most beloved angel but i'm kinda obsessed with him. the way he started calling his boss pops + went to a bruce springsteen concert with him within a few months of meeting him. the way he stole an emergency vehicle from his job to fuck in it and he thought that wasn't a big deal. the way he asks random anonymous hookups out on dates. the way that he uses sex as both a form of self-harm and self-soothing. the way he immediately fell in love with the first milf who showed him attention. the way he wanted to hold off from making their relationship sexual in an attempt to heal but when he realized that he helped her feel sexy and he was Doing Something Good For Her he gave up on that. the way that he's kinda completely alone in the world like he hasn't had any contact with his family in years and doesn't have any close friends and instead of being wary or cautious he throws himself wholeheartedly into building relationships with the people around him. the way he tries to leapfrog every normal stage of developing a relationship with nicknames like "pops" or having sex with someone immediately or helping someone with major life events. and so many of these things haven't even necessarily changed about buck over the years but there's something almost frightening about s1 buck and his approach to life where he's so untethered that any strong breeze could sweep him away and he's incredibly aware of this so he's grasping at any tether he can find with no regard for whether it'll tear the skin from his palms or wrench his fingers from their joints. there's just something about s1 buck.

Buck: Bro-
Eddie: No, no, hold up, rewind.
Eddie: My tongue was down in your throat just a second ago and now you're calling me bro?
