"A Window To My Soul" When we had first moved to Wyoming when I was young, we lived in an apartment in the middle of a very small town, about 400 people. I would often go on walks down the dirt roads leaving out of the town, just exploring and taking photos. There was a pasture down one of the dirt roads that had a few horses in it, including this Belgian mare who would come up to the fence side and I would pet her. I believe eyes are the window to the soul, and this old girl definitely had some character to her. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDrlxDgnlB/?igshid=xb7ersk0yawz

"Calf #516" Living in Wyoming means living around a lot of farms, ranches, and open grazing areas. During the summer months, ranchers usually have their cattle out on public land to graze, so you could be out driving around in the middle of what you think is nowhere, and you would end up crossing cattle guards at some point and end up running across cattle somewhere. On this day, I just happened to get this cute shot of a little calf who was curious about me stopping to say hello. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDrcvIAKpW/?igshid=1migk5xeiw6il

"Wapiti - Cow Elk Herd" Years back while living in Wyoming, I had taken a drive one day up toward the Teton National Forest and Yellowstone area. I only lived about three hours from there. Outside of the Teton National Forest, off the side of the highway, down in a valley, there was a huge herd of cow Elk with their young. There weren't any bulls in sight, but I could hear them bugling up on the mountain side. The first photo is just of a cow that had spotted me up in the ridge, I was using my long range lens so I wasn't anywhere near them. She was checking me out, making sure I wasn't any kind of threat. The next photo is of a couple of cow Elk just having a little spat. Fun fact is Wapiti is another name for Elk. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDrQ0lAEKp/?igshid=oxpz2rel8737

"Old West Buffalo" These two go along with another buffalo photo I had posted awhile back. While I lived in Wyoming, we lived about 30 miles from Thermopolis, which was this little town with these hot springs you could go swimming at. But, there was also a nearby rancher who owned some Buffalo, and let them graze out in an area near the hot springs to where people could drive around a loop and see the beautiful creatures out in the open. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDq-e9gLgm/?igshid=j927nupywmui

"Hawks And Falcons, Oh My" These are a few of some Hawks and Falcons. I have always had a love for watching and photographing birds. Even if most of the time I can't get the shot I want, because they are usually too far up, or fly away as soon as the camera comes out. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDqW0WgZO0/?igshid=14h9njx0qcxo2

"What Does The Ground Hog Say?" Once again, while living in Wyoming and during one of our outings to the mountain, I discovered this guy up on a rocky outcropping on a hill. I have no idea what Ground Hogs say, do you? Just kidding! Reminds me of that song that came out awhile back, what does the fox say? https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDktICgWNB/?igshid=1g9v9n95mwwqh

"Roar Of A Sunday Crowd" It seems so long ago now while I was living in Wyoming, every year they would have a 4th of July rodeo down in Lander. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I would usually go every year. This shot lined up perfectly to show the cowboys at the chutes, getting ready to ride, and shows you the crowd waiting in the back. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDko27g6jS/?igshid=5v4a4yb1quig

"Can't Take Me, I'm Free" It seems so long ago now while I was living in Wyoming, every year they would have a 4th of July rodeo down in Lander. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I would usually go every year. During the rodeo, they always had an event they called the wild horse race. Three or four different teams would be ready at the shoot, a rope attached to a horse. When the shoot opened, they would have to try to wrangle the horse, get it calm enough to get a saddle onto its back, and one rider would have to hop on and manage to ride the horse around a barrel to win. This photo just happened to be taken during that event, when one horse ended up getting a little wound up in his rope. But not to worry, he left the event unharmed, even if he was a little sweaty and wore out. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkjM_Arw9/?igshid=z5t82ifj50p7

"Tamin' Wild Horses" It seems so long ago now while I was living in Wyoming, every year they would have a 4th of July rodeo down in Lander. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I would usually go every year. During the rodeo, they always had an event they called the wild horse race. This photo just happened to be taken during that event, when this horse got away from the team that had finally managed to get a saddle on it's back. While this horse was making it's escape, the saddle ended up coming undone and falling off. But not to worry, he left the event unharmed, even if he was a little sweaty and wore out. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkeZZgg6Q/?igshid=dc23uw6ijct7

"Bulls And Blood, Dust And Mud" It seems so long ago now while I was living in Wyoming, every year they would have a 4th of July rodeo down in Lander. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I would usually go every year. This was taken while they were trying to get a bull out of the arena so they could continue. Since it was getting dark, it was hard to capture good photos of the event, but I still ended up liking how this one turned out, it's dark and moody and just seems to fit well. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkYeVARzs/?igshid=1kdean8xrcfwi

"Wild Bronc Ride" It seems so long ago now while I was living in Wyoming, every year they would have a 4th of July rodeo down in Lander. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I would usually go every year. Unfortunately with the spot I was at, I couldn't capture the rest of the horse in this shot, but I think it still turned out good, showing this cowboy trying to last his 8 seconds. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkQQpAEme/?igshid=gskibdh67ikm

Perfect timing to catch this cowboy leaving the shoot on his bronc - just have to stay on 8 seconds! https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkLvEALDt/?igshid=vjz1m0apclk

"Live Fast, Die Young, Bull Rider" It seems so long ago now while I was living in Wyoming, every year they would have a 4th of July rodeo down in Lander. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I would usually go every year. Unfortunately with the angle, I couldn't capture this full photo, but even so, it still shows the action taking place and this cowboy trying his hardest to stay on for those 8 long seconds. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkESUgeFR/?igshid=omhaveh14w77

Unfortunately, it was getting dark and getting harder to capture shots, but even so this one turned out pretty cool, again dark and moody, catching this cowboy leaving the chute, aiming to stay on for his 8 seconds. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDkAChALup/?igshid=pf72umm47gao

"Light Up The Night" My best friend got married about a month back, and after all the celebrating, we lit up a bonfire and sat around enjoying the night for awhile. It was a beautiful day, and I ended up getting these cool shots of the huge bonfire. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDj7s-AaUT/?igshid=1dr6fqx99ciz9

"Curious Gull" Even living in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, we still had Seagulls all over the place during the summer. Walmart parking lot, the lakes, the parks. One day while at the park with my daughter, having a picnic, this gull decided to pay us a visit. I already had my camera out, taking pictures of my daughter, so I managed to get this shot of the curious gull, wondering if we had any spare food it could have. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDjIepAMTV/?igshid=8j9rifnxnrt3
