I just wanted to share with you how every time my parents adopt a dog, they always seem to learn somewhere down the line that the dog has a chronic condition of some kind. It can be stressful and expensive, of course, but I truly believe that it takes a special kind of person to have that kind of love and determination to care for a sick dog. My parents are those kind of people, and I think you’re that kind of person too! And that’s why fate keeps bringing you all together ❤️

thank you for saying this ❤️ ive been in and out of a really sad and bitter place which i am ashamed for ever since coconut’s diagnosis came up. but idk, i guess the universe is picking these dogs for me for a reason. people keep telling me that coconut is lucky he found me and not someone else who wouldn’t devote the time and money and research for him, and they said the same with oso, so i hope that means i’m doing something right 🥲

back home from the vetttttt.

coconut’s aspiration pneumonia is clearing up pretty well, we are going to do an extra week of antibiotics to make sure it really stays at bay this time because it has occurred three times now. vet says his xray this time looked better, his esophagus seems to be improved but she does feel her initial assessment of megaesophagus was on the money; she will be getting an opinion from an expert tomorrow and letting me know what he thinks. depending on what the expert says, we may or may not move forward with testing for myasthenia gravis as well as it’s a common cause for mega-E in dogs. i feel a lot better than i did last week about all of it, and his vet team assured me i’m doing a good job managing his new normal.
