headcanon that theo is extra sensitive to things like bright lights or sudden sounds because his body just isn't adapted to adjust for those because he's artificial. when he gets headaches from them, he tries to hide and cope with them on his own until liam finds out. and liam is angry and shouting but that just makes it worse until liam realizes he's hurting theo more and takes his pain

So I have this little headcanon that I love and it goes like this.

Theo and the dread doctors spent a bit of time in France after the transformation so Theo had to learn French (I like this idea but it could be any country/language).

So, the doctors hated that Theo talked/screamed/cried during the experiments and often punished him for it so Theo, to try to stay calm (to dissociate himself from the pain more than anything else), would repeat lists of words, like animals, or colors or verbs in french, basically the typical things to learn a language.

Now imagine that this has become such an ingrained coping mechanism that Theo still does it, maybe when he has a panic attack or a nightmare or a flashback and Liam at first has no idea how to calm him down because he doesn't EVEN UNDERSTAND what he's saying so he's like there, hugging him and trying to calm him down without the slightest idea how to help him.

And then Theo at some point explains everything to Liam and starts teaching him some words to help him understand what he's saying and as soon as Liam is a little more confident he starts helping Theo with his lists but in English to remind him that he's not there anymore and that he's safe.

Oooh, deep track ask, I like it! I'm gonna go with Tara, and given how minor she is, I'll share some headcanons rather than doing the meme:

Tara was the one into skating initially. Theo got into it because his big sister liked it; he had a habit of copying her that annoyed her.

Tara was loud, bossy, vibrant. She was about eleven or twelve when she died, on the verge of teenagedom, frustrated with all the rules in her life. She found it difficult to make friends but told herself that was the price of independence. She listened to a lot of angsty music. Her brother's unwillingness to be his own person frustrated and confused her.

As a bossy redhead, she was one of Stiles' first crushes. This never registered for her; she didn't interact much with her baby brother's friends.

Depending on how old you think Cora is, they could have been in the same grade.

She carried her little brother's inhaler for him at school because he was always leaving it places. Tara took asthma seriously, and knew a lot of facts about it in that way that kids do.

Since they wound up at that bridge that night, I think Theo had a habit of wanting to show Tara cool stuff he'd found. He was always dragging her places--when he was really little, by taking her hand. Tara made a fuss but always let him do it.

She liked to brag that she was tough, and didn't care about the cold.

She died confused. Who had pushed her? Why wouldn't her brother do something?

i know most people kinda see joaquín as the yapper and bob as the quieter-listener one, but i’d like to imagine that they kinda alternate…hehehe… when they first see each other, joaquín is doing most of the talking, but as bob warms up he takes over. joaquín is talking about anything and EVERYTHING, good spots for cheap eats around the neighborhood and show(s) he’s watching. bob is intently listening, quipping little “oh..i didn’t know that”s, “no way.”s and “really?”s into the conversation.

then bob starts. he talks about teaching himself the wiring around the building, petty drama between the thunderbolts and late nights catching up on the shows joaquín was talking about earlier.

it alternates until they melt into each other, giggling and laughing and shushing themselves. joaquín likes to call bob before missions to yap out his nerves, and bob likes to call joaquín on nights when he’s all existential and weird. its nice having someone to talk to that isnt your boss.. or didn’t see you shoot up into the sky like a rocket after finding out you had powers through guns being shot straight at your stomach. bob thinks that would probably change your perspective on someone. joaquín thinks they know just enough about each other. but he wouldn’t mind knowing more.
