The characterization of the player in Block Tales in the fandom slightly worry’s me. This is more so because a lot of people happen to think that player only cares for the swords and what needs to be done. Did we perhaps forget that Jon(player) had to fight their negative emotions? Of course there will be consequences to this. Without their negative emotions, they wouldn’t be able to differentiate what is truly important. Not without their fear or anything similar. It’s clear that they aren’t selfish due to their wishes mostly consisting of simple things that were in front of them (such as the shovel and the boat in a bottle). Let’s not forget that the player is desensitized to situations that result in death, being forced to witness and be the cause for the sake of the greater good. And with killing their emotions, they won’t be able to comprehend the grief of with the loss of a life. Bringing up demo 3 again, Jon likely thinks that they are truly pure so the shock they must’ve felt to be outed as a traitor likely confused them. Especially since getting the swords is what they thought is best, with the constant pressure of Shedletsky(I HATE THAT THING.)

All in all, they don’t act normal because they physically, mentally, and literally cannot.
