Daily reminder that Rhysand is a pimp. He pimped Feyre in the Summer Court and had her act the part of a whore in Hewn City. Nesta was asked to seduce Eris and before the series is over I'm sure he's going to attempt to do the same to Elain. Also telling Nesta that it'll be either her or Elain who will dance with Eris isn't a choice. Once again, Rhysand gets people to do what he wants by offering up a lesser of two evils. Forcing them into choosing the choice he wanted them to pick all along.
Is the feminist choice king in the room with us?

I’m tired of explaining why a certain act is an abuse when it is clearly described word for word in these books. Why don’t you explain how these are romantic instead?
Why a man essentially stripping a woman naked and parading her in a room full of strangers is hot.
Why a woman in her drugged state forced to grind up against a man is hot.
Why a woman being dressed up in the same clothes she was traumatised in and kneeling to a man is hot.
Why a woman sitting on a man’s lap and getting off in front of people who have zero interest in such shows is hot.
Why a man keeping secrets about a baby growing in a woman’s body is romantic.
Why a man locking a woman in an inescapable tower is romantic.
Why a man controlling what and when she eats is romantic.
Why a man forcing her into clothes she isn’t comfortable in and taking her to a place she won’t be comfortable at is romantic.
Why a man training a woman in a skill she has no interest in is caring. Or to the point she is so physically exhausted she passes out later.
Why a man laughing at a woman with bruises is fun and flirty.
Why a man having sex with a woman, who is forcefully isolated from society and hurting, under his supervision is hot.
Why a man punishing a woman for her issues with her sister is caring.
Why a man dragging a suicidal woman up a hill, isolating her even more, without even checking on her once is romantic or healthy.
Why a man pushing a woman to be vulnerable when he never did so ever with anyone is romantic.
Without the names, looking at the actions objectively, if you still believe these are the ideal scenario in romance, you need to sit down and really need to reflect on why the concept of a woman being helpless with a man is appealing to you.

Did SJM ever apologize for using Breonna Taylor’s death for marketing?
Did she ever apologize for the harmful stereotypes of POC and LGBTQIA+ representation in her books?
Did she ever apologize for disrespecting and slandering both world religions and mythologies, pretending as if she created them herself?
Did she ever apologize for plagiarizing most of the aspects of (probably the only good aspects) her books?
Did she ever apologize for her fake-feminism, her conservative ideals threaded in her books, her poor representation of healthy and toxic relationships and her poor representation of mental health and helping mental health? Especially when so many of this influences younger readers?
Did she ever apologize on her lack of research in any subject, especially ones that involve representation and ones that can seriously affect others?
Did she ever apologize for using a real place like Illyria and scythia (spelling is not my friend here) and claiming them as her own world building?
Did she ever make a statement regarding the genocide in Palestine, therefore solidifying her stance and no longer making her indirectly complicit by not speaking up on her platform?
Did she ever apologize for trying to trademark things like Illyria and the name Bryce lmao???
I heard she doesn’t even play nice with other authors. 😬

the way what Rhys does UtM gets so glossed over is actually insane. and I'm not even talking about the lap dancing or the touching or the licking her face that's always excused. I'm talking about him KISSING her

he literally says he did it hec he was jealous and pissed off but people will skate RIGHT around his own words and still say it was "to protect her"
ok

I wholeheartedly believe that Tamlin is a better male, nay a better MAN, than Rhysand in any book.
People treat Rhysand like a pretty prince that does no wrong which doesn’t work if you also want him to be the bad boy love interest. I can’t stand him and don’t trust him alone with my drink at a party. He doesn’t respect his wife (and that is a FACT: you don’t withhold someone medical information if you respect them, you don’t withhold all plans from someone you respect, you don’t sideline a “co ruler” in every political discussion, you don’t just not educate her on the way the world works, I don’t wanna hear it) or his subjects, or his employees. He does not value Feyre and in fact cut her out of everything politically, she is an accessory to his ruling and nothing more. Feyre wants Rhys and I’m glad she has him, I just wish he loved and respected her. He doesn’t respect his family. He carries himself as so much better and pulls rank every conversation. All his actions have “reasons” while everyone else has “excuses”. Why do slums exist in your segregated utopian paradise? Why did you abandon the women and children Illyria? The Hewn City? Oh wait no, you do care if they can serve you in the military but you don’t want to do anything about mistreatment. “Change takes time” bullshit, you had hundreds of years and just don’t care enough.
Tamlin at least acknowledges that he has done something wrong and takes actions to change. Locking the woman that couldn’t function in public yet without breaking down because he couldn’t trust she wouldn’t try and follow was wrong and he agrees with you. He has a magical outburst (morally neutral action in all other books by the way) from a panic attack and was fucking distraught over the idea he could’ve hurt the woman he loved. Tamlin cares about his people. He didn’t want this job and he is trying his hardest, almost singlehandedly to protect everyone. Tamlin never tried to kill someone for being inconvenient. Tamlin never forced himself on someone. Tamlin is against slavery. Tamlin actually played spy instead of just offering himself to evil to save his own skin. Tamlin can play an instrument.

Saying this right fucking now.
I don’t want to see ANY of you touching that fuckass new Harry Potter series.
That woman has set us back YEARS. YEARS. And whose money is she using to do it? People who continually support her and her sorry excuse for a book series.
If you simply must watch it? Pirate. It’s not hard.
Do not give her money. Do not give her a platform. Do not contribute. Please.

Is Rhysand really against slavery?
When Rhysand talks to Feyre about slavery, he says the Night Court freed the human slaves not because slavery is immoral, or cruel, or dehumanizing but because humans breed too fast.
Hear that? They freed them not because slavery is wrong, not because oppression is evil, but because it was “inconvenient.” Because humans reproduce too quickly. That’s it.
This is the same man the story wants us to root for!!
The same man who’s paraded as a feminist, a kind ruler, the supposed moral compass of the series? 🤐
And let’s not forget the Illyrians, who are basically slave soldiers.
The males are forced to train from childhood—no choice, no freedom. And the females? Their wings are clipped to keep them grounded.
Oh sorry I forgot our sweet precious Rhysand made a rule to stop the wing clipping, but let me guess: change takes time, right? 🫠
Side note because I can't not think about this:
If the roles were reversed—if Tamlin (yes, the one who was ready to die to fight slavery and tyranny) had said that line about freeing slaves because of breeding issues, and Rhys had actually fought for freedom?
Tamlin would be canceled into oblivion.
Rhys would be crowned the eternal hero, oh wait I forgot again! he already being crowned.

People who say Tamlin playing the fiddle is an ick….
Get up and play a song right now.
With the amount of time, effort, and actual skill it takes to master any instrument, it should never be considered an ick to play one.

Tamlin let Feyre go because he loved her and feared for her safety. Sacrificing himself and his court for her.
Rhysand did not let Feyre go and forced her into a magic bargain/ and justified his SA and abuse towards her.
Tamlin has hobbies as in playing the fiddle, writing dirty poetry, and is a lover of art.
Rhysand has no hobbies unless you count being an asshole and taking joy in hurting others because he can.
Tamlin opened up his court for refugees.
Rhysand closed his favorite city while ignoring Hewn City and Illyaria except for when he needs to scare, threaten, or use them.
Tamlin told Feyre to dance and encouraged her to express herself in dancing.
Rhysand sexually assaulted Feyre forcing her to dance, drugged her, and paraded her barely clothed body in front of people.
Tamlin warned her family of the dangers of Prythian and made them wealthy saving them.
Rhysand threatened Feyre's family and doomed them to their fate when he didn't fulfill his promises to keep them safe.(exposing them to dangers and essentially letting them get kidnapped.)
Tamlin is loved by his people and only when Feyre manipulated everyone against him did they turn on him.
Rhysand is hated by 2/3rds of his court and most people other than the citizens of Velaris and the IC.
Tamlin tried to keep Feyre safe by locking her in his mansion.
Rhysand used Feyre as bait for the Attor.
Tamlin apologized to Feyre, learnt from his mistakes and tried to make amends with her.
Rhysand never apologized to Feyre and continues to lie and manipulate her even though he said he wouldn't.
Tamlin became a double agent of Hybern, gathered intel, saved Feyre and Co, and fought against evil without harming innocents.
Rhysand played the villain by terrorizing, hurting, and killing innocents, gathered no intel, and basically didn't do anything good while "playing a double agent".
Tamlin saved Rhysand's life and told Feyre to be happy.
Rhysand after returning to life promptly went to Tamlin's court to antagonize and suicide bait him without so much as a thank you. Only when he got called out by Lucien did he stop doing it.
Tamlin was never as bad as SJM tried to portray him and despite her trashing Tamlin he still is a better man than Rhysand. In fact going into Acotar I was spoiled that Feyre ended up with Rhysand and that Tamlin was the worst and I'd hate him. Well I ended hating Rhysand which was the opposite of SJM's intentions lol.

I would like to point out something the ACoTaR fandom and even the books themselves seem to forget but Feyre has a DAD. Like a living, breathing, mentally functioning Father. I really don’t know why every body and their mommas keep blaming Nesta for not stepping up and parenting her instead of the actual adult in the house.
“oh Nesta let Feyre go out and hunt” their Dad couldn’t have said something?
“oh Nesta never taught Feyre to read” THEIR DAD IS A MERCHANT YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO READ AND WRITE
i know he disabled but that doesn’t mean we can stop raising your children.
