Open Ghyll Scrambling Session at Stoneycroft Ghyll the Lakes
Sunday 26th August 2018
High Tide Adventure is running an open Ghyll Scrambling session at Stoney Croft Ghyll, Newlands Valley The Lake District.
Ghyll Scrambling is a fun adventurous activity, involving slides, jumps, wild swimming and teamwork, Stoneycroft Ghyll can be described as Wet and Wild outside.
We will be doing the full journey down Stoneycroft Ghyll, including the short canyoning section which includes three waterfall abseils.
For a half day Ghyll Scrambling it is £40 per person, this will include instructors, wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and photos and videos of the session.
We will meet at 9.30 am and travel over to the Lake District, take part in the activity, with an option of a pub meal (not included in the price) before we travel home. Please book early to avoid disappointment, as places will be limited.

Parent & Child 24 hour Survival Experience
Saturday 23rd - Sunday 24th June

High Tide Adventure are running a survival experience for 24 hours for parents and children to enjoy the great outdoor together in the beautiful Northumberland countryside.
You will learn basic survival techniques, which will be put to the test over the duration of the 24 hours. The experience will involve the following: fire craft, basic map reading & navigation, shelter building, sleeping outside, camouflage and concealment, setting up an Observation Post (OP), team missions, target shooting. The rest of the information is on a need to know basis only. Your skill will be tested over the duration of the experience.
This experience is open to everyone, all young people must be accompanied by an adult who is taking part in the experience and activities.
Are you tough enough to take on this physical and mental challenge?
The cost of the experience is £100 per parent and child, with discounts offered for groups.

Coasteering is an adrenaline packed journey along a coastline, involving a number of different skills to traverse along the land and through the sea. Coasteering is a genuine, safe outdoor activity, requiring you to wear satety equipment (it is not Tombstoning). A typical journey involves skills like: scrambling, climbing, swimming and jumping in the water.
High Tide Adventure will supply you with all the necessary safety equipment, including: wetsuit, buoyancy aid, windproof jacket and helmet. Plus photos and videos of the day.
This is an open Coasteering session, for all abilities and anyone above the age of 12 yrs plus (all under 16’s must be accompanied with a consenting adult taking part in the activity).

Hill Navigation Skills day around Breamish Valley Sunday 21st Janruary 2018
If you are looking for some fresh air and exercise after Christmas. Or just want to learn and practice navigation techniques, advance your navigation knowledge or learn new techniques. Ideal for preparation for D of E, ML Training, preparation to join the Military, or just to improve your navigation and map reading skills.
The day will involve walking around the Breamish Valley, using different navigation techniques, to achieve a number of tasks.
The walk will include a visit to the beautiful Linhope Spout, in the Beamish Valley, Northumberland.
Linhope Spout is a 60ft (18m) waterfall, with a plunge pool 6ft (2m) wide and 16ft (5m) deep. Then continue up Breamish Valley.
The cost is £30 per person and will be delivered by a qualified Mountain Leader. All maps and compasses will be provided, however you must ensure that you have your own walking equipment, enough warm clothing to keep you warm all day and a packed lunch.
We will meet at 9.30am, starting 10.00am, finishing at 3.30pm.

Night Navigation around Hadrian’s Wall Saturday 13th January 2018
Learn new map reading skills practice navigation techniques, advance your navigation knowledge or learn new techniques, or just come out on an enjoyable walk to get some fitness in after Christmas.
High Tide Adventure Company are running a hill night navigation session. This will involve navigating to check points around the Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland. Night navigation is a great way to practice and home in your navigation skills.
Techniques used will range from basic map reading, to more advanced methods such as pacing, aiming off and walking on a bearing.
This day is suitable for anyone keen to learn how to navigate in the hills and caters for all walkers, inexperienced up to advanced. This activity is suitable for children 12 + who must be accompanied by a participating adult.
The cost for a days tuition on the hills around Hadrian's Wall, is £25 per person. This includes guiding by a qualified Mountain Leader, and all maps and compasses will be provided. Transport is also available (with limited space in my car, first come, first serve).
Please note you must have your own head torch or torch, walking equipment, enough warm clothing to keep you warm and dry for the whole session and a food and water, tea or coffee.
We will meet in at 3.30pm (meeting place TBC), starting at 4.00pm and finishing around 8.00 - 8.30pm.
