The Surprise

Sequel.

Uh. I forgot to say this was a Normal!AU in which they're all just kpop bands but with F!reader amongst them.

They're all humans.

Rumi and Jinu are just rivals.

And Mira and Zoey are going out.

You were at your house and scrolling through different job offers.

It's been a month since you quit.

When you quit being Huntr/X's assistant, you had enough savings to last you a decade of not working. If you didn't splurge or buy games.

But you did do those two things for like a whole week.

So that decade was halved and now here you are.

You sigh for the fifth time as you consider a manager gig.

"Fuck no. I don't want to see Rumi anymore." You say out loud but you know that it's an impossible thing to do. After all, she was a superstar. One for out of your house and you will somehow hear their newest single or one of their classics.

And it doesn't help that the trio somehow finds a new number everyday to call you.

You look through your house and sigh.

"Time to be productive." You clean your house that day while you wait for more job offers.

Rumi looks at everyone around the table and sigh.

"Still won't talk?" Zoey and Mira shake their heads.

"When she hears it's you, me or Mira, she immediately hangs up." Zoey says and Mira nods in agreement.

"Bobby?"

"She blocked me too! I was going to offer her a managerial job too."

"She probably doesn't want to. She probably wants to avoid Rumi as much as possible." Jinu says and Rumi scoffs at him.

"Shut up."

"I was just stating facts. If it was me trying to move on from someone who can't even tell the public that they love me? I would want to avoid them as much as possible." Everyone nods in agreement.

"You're not helping." Jinu holds his hands up.

"Just saying." Zoey gets a bright idea.

"Have YOU tried calling her?" Everyone looks at him.

"Hmm. I should give it a try."

You hear your phone ring and pick it up, hoping for another interview or job offer to come through.

"Hi. You've reached Y/N Y/LN. How can I-"

"You sound polite." The voice makes you freeze. It was familiar and not familiar.

"M-may I ask who this might be?" You sit on your couch.

"Jinu. I'm the leader of the Saja boys."

Ah. Rumi's new boyfriend. The one she told that you were just her assistant.

"Ah. Can I help you?" You can hear his chuckle.

"What a sudden change. You must hate me, right?"

"I don't hate you, Mr. Jinu. If this all you called for then-"

"It's not. Make sure to watch the Huntr/x's portion of interview later tonight. You'll find a surprise waiting for you."

"What?"

"I informed you. Oh. And one more thing. I absolutely have no interest in Rumi. She and I are purely work rivals."

"I-" He hangs up and you look at your phone.

"What the fuck?"

You were playing games on your console when you look at the clock.

The exact time those late night shows usually start.

"Fuck off. Stop thinking about her. Stop." You say to yourself but groan as you know your curiosity had already won.

"GOD! FUCK YOU, JINU!" You shout to your ceiling and save your game. You browse through the channels then stop as the screen shows Huntr/x appearing and sitting on the couch.

"Welcome back, everyone!" The host greets them warmly and the trio greets everyone.

"So. Your new single has been absolutely fire. Takedown has reached new records this week."

"It has truly been a blessing. Writing Takedown took so much out of us. We spent late nights buried in notebooks, lyrics and with our instruments." Zoey muses.

"I remember you always dragging Y/N to go on late night snack shopping."

"Right! Y/N! Most of your fans have noticed that your lovable assistant has been missing."

"What? The fuck????? ME???????" You question your life.

You????? PEOPLE NOTICE YOU?? HOW???

"Well, yeah. Y/N quit." Rumi says bluntly and everyone, the hose and audience gasp at the information.

"She did? Damn. That woman has always been a force of nature. Back when you guys first started, she always made sure you guys had more than enough screentime. I think if she could, she would the editor like a hawk." Everyone laughs at that, including the trio.

"Y/N has always been protective of us." Zoey says fondly.

"I'm telling you guys, she's really the true delinquent." Everyone chuckles at Mira's joke.

"She quit because of me. I was being insensitive. I was being secretive."

"Secretive? Of what?"

"My relationship with her." Everyone gasps and you freeze at her words. "Y/N and I are girlfriends. I never revealed it to the world because didn't want her to get hurt. For our fans to come after her." Rumi chuckles. "But to my surprise when she was just gone for a week, everyone looked for her." Rumi looks at the camera. "Thank you for caring about the girl that I love." Her words make your heart beat faster.

"So, is this you coming out? Are you saying that-"

"I'm bisexual. All three of us are." Mira and Zoey nod in agreement.

"And another announcement! Me and Mira have been dating for the past couple years!"

"That one was obvious, Zoey!"

"Yeah! Everyone knows!" Zoey shows a surprised at Mira who chuckles.

"Wait. They do?"

"Zoey, #MiraZoey always trend. Baby, you should really look at trend topics more." The endearment makes their fans squeal.

"I hope Y/N is watching this." Rumi looks at the camera then bows slightly. "I'm really sorry for making you wait. For saying you were only my assistant. But you're not. You're my partner in crime. My ride or die. You and your protective nature always shielded me and the girls. I have always loved you for that."

You turn off the TV quickly and you stare at the ceiling.

Why now?

Why do this when you left already?

"We both know why." The voice in your head says and you sob.

Because you were never enough.

Because you were just average.

Huntr/x and Saja Boys are gods. Idols.

What were you compared to them?

You cry to sleep that night.

You wake up to a loud knock on your door. You look around and see that it was just 6 am.

"Who the fuck knocks this early?"

"Y/N!" You scramble at the familiar voice. Why is your sister here at your house in the city??

You open the door and see Yuna.

"Finally. Pack your bags."

"What?"

"I'm dragging you back home. Pack for a week."

Protecting my Heart

Summary:

In a world where Honmoon doesn't exist and multiple demon hunters exist.

You're a demon hunter. A beast tamer.

You're the one whom the organization considers the best. So you were tasked in protecting the trio who could possibly hold the key to creating the barrier which can finally chase the demons away.

Along with two other agents.

So here you are. Protecting three idols with a punk who's name is Angel and a sadist who's name is Light.

How the fuck did you fuck up in your last life?

A/N:

A SUDDEN BURST OF INSPIRATION SO SUE ME.

You kill the group of demons and your sword disintegrates. You look around and nod in satisfaction. This group has been terrorizing the local village for a week so you came at the right time before they got bold enough to kidnap someone. You turn and smile as tiger goes to you.

You hum as the tiger rubs it's head on you.

"You really should be more careful. Some of my colleagues are angry because of you." Tiger meows and you smile at him.

"Don't worry if any of them wanted to hurt you, I'll hurt them so much more." Tiger bumps his head on you so you comply and ride his back. He walks slowly and you cast an illusion to make it seem like he's an ordinary tiger to normal humans.

"You're not so clumsy anymore." You chuckle. "Had enough of Crow's remarks?" Tiger grunts and you pet his head. "You shouldn't mind him too much. He's just too smart for his own good." You hear an indignant caw and Crow lands on your head. "What? I'm just stating facts."

You get back to the village and inform them of your missions and they all cheer for you.

You were about to open a portal to the organization when a white dove comes for you. Crow was going to make it go away but you stop him.

"It's a message." You let the dove land on your hand and you take the message tied to it's feet. Crow stares at the dove menacingly and the dove inches away from him.

You open the message and hum.

"Thank you, Little White." You give the dove a treat and pet it a little then let it fly away. Crow caws at you and you hum.

"They need me."

You arrive at the organization and look at the scoreboard.

"Huntr/x has been steadingly climbing." Angel teases as she approaches you.

"Are you afraid? Want to group-"

"No, thank you. You're both too much for me." You brush off their invites and continue your way to the head's office. You see them both following you- "Can you two not take a hint-"

"What- the boss called for us too!"

"It's true." Light shows their message and you sigh as you open the door to the office and let them first inside. You pause as you see Huntr/x already there and sitting idly.

"You're all here." Celine addresses you, Light and Angel.

"Congratulations, by the way, Y/N for the successful mission." You bow at the compliment.

"Thank you, Miss Celine." Celine gestures for the other trio to stand.

"You three know of them, no?"

"The Rookies from three years ago." Was Angel's answer.

"They've been climbing up the scoreboard recently. Maybe it's time to take-" Light gets stop by Angel's chop to her head.

"Y/N?" You shake your head.

"I have no interest in such matters."

"And yet you remain the number one on the board."

"It's not my fault that some groups are weak." Both Angel and Light glare at you. Light even put up her fist but Angel just stops her.

"The how about the Honmoon?" Now that peaked your interest. Celine knows about it?

"The who what now?"

"Honmoon?"

"An ancient barrier that is said to have been used centuries ago to keep the demons away. It's been said to be activated by rituals? The books weren't clear enough." Celine nods at your answer.

"Not rituals. Voices." That got you confused.

"Voices?"

"Yes. Honmoon can be activated through singing."

"If you're going to ask us to sing, I will walk out of this organization then and there." You say seriously. Singing is not your forte. Fighting demons are. Celine chuckles at you.

"Not you." Celine looks at Huntr/x. "Them." Celine nods at Rumi and suddenly, a beat comes from nowhere and they begin performing then and there.

Even Angel and Light enjoyed it. You couldn't care less.

This is precisely why people call you the robot demon hunter and beast tamer.

"What is the point of calling us here then?" You question Celine while Huntr/x catch their breath.

"I want the three of you to protect them while they activate Honmoon. It's not instant and it might take years."

"You're taking out your best agent to protect ag-"

"Y/N. You know Gwima's right hand man." The sentence makes your blood run cold.

"Jeonjo."

"Yes. He's been hunting for the girls. And as of right now, only you can fight him toe to toe. And why I need you with them."

"They know about your plan with the Honmoon then."

"Precisely. I've long suspected one of theirs are amongst us."

"It's Jinu." You say decisively and everyone except Angel looks at you.

"It's true. It's Jinu. He's the spy."

"How do you even know that?"

"Girl- remember the marks? The patterns he told us were tattoos? For fuck's sake! We're demon hunters! Why the fuck would you get demon patterns as tattoos!?"

"Oh. Right. I was too busy petting Tiger to notice. Where is he, by the way?"

"I told you. She likes you." Tiger appears from the floor and Rumi, Zoey and Mari scream in fright. Crow appears from your back and caws at everyone.

"Crow. You've come back." Celine says fondly and Crow caws back at her.

"Y-You have demon pets?"

"Not pets. Companions. You three need to get used to them." Tiger goes to Rumi and gently bumps his head to her hand. Rumi looks at you and you just not at her. She begins petting his head.

"Oh. Cute." Zoey joins in and squeals.

"And Fluffy."

"So fluffy." Mira buries her head in his fur. Crow flies to Light who gives him a treat and gently pets his feathers.

"I will take on the mission, Miss Celine."

"Great." She turns to Light and Angel. "You two?"

"We will, as well."

"Good. All six of you will not only reveal yourselves to the world but capture their hearts as well. You got that?"

All six of you look at each other then at Celine.

"Roger."

2. AU in which Reader is a superstar actress whose status far surpasses Huntr/x. Reader falls for Rumi unknowingly while they're paired up for a movie.

3. AU where Reader is in a band specifically to find Rumi. But she finds out RumiJuni exists and wants to move on, not knowing that RumiJuni is just a PR move. Two more ocs for both Mira and Zoey because I love them too.

4. Manager!Reader of Saja Boys. Part Human. Part Demon. She falls for Rumi while planning against Gwima. (Angsty af and I will make it that way lmfao)

5. Demon!Reader who has long since answered for her sins so she's immune to Gwima's whispers. Cue a demon hunting down demons and helping Huntr/x.

6. AU in which Gods, Demons and Humans co-exist. Reader is a demigod tasked by her goddess mother to protect humans from dangerous demons. She then gets assigned as a bodyguard for the trio.

7. Former Delinquent Reader who becomes Huntr/x's assistant so she becomes their part-time bodyguard as well.

8. Goddess Reader who becomes infatuated with Rumi's voice. So she walks the earth and becomes their assistant.

You freeze in your tracks as you hear their conversation.

So all her promises. All her laughs. All the kisses. All the nights spent together in her bed.

All of those were nothing.

You can't help the big tears as you clutch your heart.

You feel your whole world break down.

You stack another box and groan.

You finish getting everything after fifteen minutes and look at the four boxes.

"Two trips it is." You decide and so you carry two boxes down to your car.

You put the boxes in your trunk and hum as you check the Livestream.

You picked this time because you knew the girls would be out.

No tears. No pain. No sadness. No regret.

No one would stop you from leaving at all. Even Bobby was informed already and although he protested it at first. You debated him for hours until he reluctantly agreed that you make your sneaky way out.

Out of their lives.

The thought makes you freeze.

Right.

No more late night bursts of inspirations with Zoey.

No more analyzation of choreographies with Mira.

You weren't just going to lose Rumi.

You were going to lose everything.

But still. Knowing that she only still sees you as nothing but an assistant makes you weak in your knees.

You were patient. A saint, really. After all, she had promised for years that she'll reveal to the public that you were hers but she never did.

And you were okay with that.

Because you know deep inside that Rumi was not someone who you can reach.

Huntr/x is god level status among the groups. Tops all the groups. All the time.

You ride the elevator up to the penthouse again. Not knowing that while you froze up. The Livestream had ended abruptly because Bobby can't keep a secret.

You were about to pick up the other two boxes when you were dragged by Mira.

"What- why are you here already!?" She doesn't answer but her grip on your wrist tightens. She makes you sit on the couch and you look at her.

"I left on my bike. Zoey and Rumi are on their way."

"What? Why?"

"Because you were leaving! I asked Bobby why you weren't there and he-" Mira can't stop her tears. Her voice went from angry to sad.

"Why are you leaving?" You panic as she cries.

"Mira! It's not your fault at all, okay? You guys did nothing wrong." She grabs your collar.

"Then why!? Y/N, you fit in well with us. You always supported us from the start so why- why are you just leaving us when we're at the top!?" You feel your heart clench.

"I-"

"Did Zoey make you stay late at night? You know you have your own room here-"

"No- I-"

"Did Bobby skimp out on your bonus? I can give you a thousand percent bonus if you want to-"

"Mira! Stop!" You shout and she freezes as your tears are just flowing.

Mira has never seen you cry. You were their rock. Always calm. Always there. She even jokingly refers to you as the true delinquent of the group.

"Please. Let me leave. I can't- I can't live like this anymore."

"You- have you hated us?"

"No! Never! I just-" you sob as you clutch your chest. Your heart hurts so much. It hurts too much. Everything is collapsing before you. Your heart that was given away is utterly destroyed and in pieces. And now you were about to leave your best friends too.

"Please. Just let me leave. I need to go. I can't- my heart can't take anymore, okay?" You sob. "It hurts so much. So fucking much."

"What? I-I don't understand." You chuckle at that.

"How can you? Please let me go. I can't see her. I don't want to get hurt anymore. Okay?"

"Who-"

"Rumi."

"Your girlfriend?"

"No. My boss. I'm just her assistant, after all."

Rumi and Zoey freeze at the door as they hear you.

"Rumi?" Zoey questions her and Rumi can only stare at you.

You heard her that day. Fuck.

"I- Juni doesn't know and I had to-"

"This is why I told you to stop fucking around and announce it!" Mira shouts at her and you snap.

"STOP!" The trio looks at you and you look at them with such calm eyes that they instinctively took a step back.

"I'm leaving. Don't fight."

"Wait-" Rumi tries to hold your wrist but you slap it away.

"I'm done." You say with a cold tone and she felt her heart die.

You were done. With everything.

With her promises that never came true.

With her vague flirtations with men.

With her excuses.

With her inaction.

You were done.

Eight years that they climbed to the top.

Eight years since you fell.

Five years since you confessed. Five years of her promises. And now you were just tired.

Done.

You calmly take the boxes by the door and look at the trio. Rumi was crying silently as she looked at you.

"Good luck on the idol awards this year." You say and get out of the penthouse.

You take the final box out of your trunk and get inside your house.

You take your phone out and see everyone's art for today's Livestream and the new fandom that emerged.
