ガゼット history (1998-2002)

Ruki's first band was a punk rock band called 鎖鎌 (Kusarigama). He started it in high school with one of his classmates. After this band broke up, his friend asked him to be the drummer of a vkei band. This was Ruki's first vkei band, Sacrifice. According to vk.gy, Sacrifice formed in 1998 and disbanded in 1999.

Ruki and his friend eventually decided to leave 鎖鎌 to form a new band called 魅琴 (Mikoto). The timeline for 魅琴 is pretty messy, because Ruki and the band's vocalist have given slightly different timelines for the band. According to Ruki, he was there when they formed 魅琴. However, there are flyers that show the band had a lineup prior to Ruki joining.

According to Ruki, he and the guitarist found a vocalist for the band after seeing him perform in Yokohama. The vocalist brought along the guitarist and bassist from his band, and they formed the final lineup of 魅琴 (Mikoto).

魅琴 played their first live on 3/28/2000 at Yokohama 7th AVENUE. On 05/28/2000, both the guitarist and bassist left the band. Ruki joined as the drummer on 6/17/2000. Ruki and the guitarist 悲敬 (Hikei) joined vocalist 舞沙 (Casüga) and guitarist 憂葵 (Yuki) with support bassist 朋架 (Houka).

Meanwhile, Uruha and Reita had been in several bands throughout middle and high school. vk.gy lists Uruha's early band history as before christ → adolf → dis eine. Reita isn't listed as being in any of these bands, but he almost certainly was.

Ruki met Uruha and Reita when 魅琴 played with their band 鴉 (Karasu). Both bands were active in the Yokohama live scene, and they played together multiple times. Ruki and 舞沙 thought that Uruha and Reita were really cool, so 舞沙 eventually approached them about forming a new band with him and Ruki.

Meanwhile, Aoi moved from Mie to Tokyo in 1999/2000. He met Yune sometime after, and they formed a band called Melville. Melville played their first live on 1/27/2001 at hide MUSEUM in Yokosuka.

Mikoto played their last live on 3/22/2001 at Takadanobaba AREA. Ruki, Uruha, and Reita formed Ma'die Küsse on 4/13/2001. Ma'die Küsse played their first live a few months later on 6/13/2001 at Meguro Rock Maykan. Ruki had hoped his fans from 魅琴 would follow him to the new band, but Ma'die Küsse was a lot less popular and eventually ended up having only around 10 fans.

The band tried a few different concepts and sounds, before settling on the medical theme (with lab coats and bloody bandages). Their fans increased, but tensions built up between the members. Ruki, Uruha, and Reita formed a not-so-secret side band called L'ie:Chris ahead of Ma'die Küsse breaking up.

Melville disbanded a few months later, and played their final live on 4/14/2001 at Takadanobaba AREA. Aoi and Yune then went on to form a new band called Artia on 6/06/2001. Artia played their first live on 7/19/2001.

On 9/16/2001, L'ie:Chris played their first live as a “secret band” before the disbandment of Ma'die Küsse. Once they stopped playing secretly, they began going by Kar†te=zyAnose. They played their first official live as Kar†te=zyAnose on 11/12/2001.

Aoi and Yune met Ruki, Uruha, and Reita on 10/05/2001 when Ma'die Küsse and Artia played a live together at Meguro LIVE STATION.

Ma'die Küsse played their last live (at Takadanobaba AREA) before disbanding on 10/28/2001. On 11/04/2001, Artia then announced that they'll be disbanding after their live on 11/26/2001.

Ruki, Uruha, and Reita approached Yune about joining a new band. Yune suggested that they also let Aoi join. The members agreed, because they thought it would be good for the band to have an ikemen member.

Kar†te=zyAnose played their last live on 1/01/2002. ガゼット then formed a couple weeks later on 1/14/2001. ガゼット played their first live on 3/10/2002 at Meguro Rock Maykan.

About a year after their first live, Yune left the band, and Kai officially joined ガゼット on 2/02/2002. Yune did come back as a support drummer for a brief period when Kai suffered from hearing loss.

I cannot believe this day has come. I never thought I would write my goodbye letter to you. I hope my words and letter reach you and you can see our love for you from above 🥀

This is a devasting news. I woke up today with this news. I will never forget you... You have been in my life for 20 years.

For 20 years I have been following you and found my support and strength in your music. Your music has been a huge part of my life. Bigger than any musician ever will be. Being a part in one of the most difficult time of my life, my childhood, my teenage years and adulthood. Part of my pain, memories, strength, weakness and more. When I could not rely on others, I had you and your music.

I will miss you dearly. I am grateful I could go to your concert twice and could meet you twice. You were so nice and so talented and amazing

My heart is pieces.... I hope you didnt suffer. I hope youre happy... I hope you know you meant the world to millions and you changed the life of many for the better...

I hope the other members are okay. I will respect any decision the band will take now. No matter how hard it is.. and to the other Sixth Guns out there. I hope youre doing okay.

Gazerock will never die. The Gazette will be forever.

The hardest goodbye I have to do for any musician. If you know me in real life, you know how much the Gazette means to me. 20 years is a lot to be a fan of..

💚 BAP in Düsseldorf - Forever with Babyz tour 09.12.2018 💚

I know this post has been very late, but I was sick and made a thread on twitter too!

We went to Germany the day of the concert, my mom was travelling with my sis and I and I also met one of my closest friends at the venue and it was so fun on our way to the hall and the concert. The next day we also went to the Xmas market (quiet boring SKDJKSJDK) and I will never forget this, but when I went to buy waffles and pancakes at this Turkish place, they also gave free food to homeless people (bless them omg)

Concert This concert, was honestly SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD. Theyre even better irl than seeing them on youtube, I couldnt believe my eyes and ears wow. Thank you for the great time ;;;

I have been following BAP since predebut and I never got the chance to see them live and knew this would be my last time and whatever happend I had to see my faves ;; Ive so many great memories with them, and apart from their amazing music, they're amazing people too and they went through so much :( their music helped me through a lot ;;

I had silver seats, but the venue was so empty I was front row in silver GA and Babys are one of the most mature fans I have ever seen, because nobody pushed me :o Even tall people gave me their spot ;;; so sweet! But tbh the empty venue made me very very sad, because they used to be damn huge and got sold out venues (even bigger than this one) but nobody really cared bc BAP was having fun with their loyal fans <3

BAP had made eco bags they would distribute to fans (there was a lottery I think?) (THIS IS SO ADORABLE MAN) And before the encore they also showed handwritten letters, which made me cry bc they talked about their hardship too.. :(

During the MC fans chanted SARANGHAE, and daehyun was like ‘wow your Korean is SO GOOD’ LMFAO and fans also chanted Johnny Depp, I have no IDEA why SJDKSJD maybe its a German thing? And also pls be quiet during MCs bc BAP couldn't rly talk and asked certain fans to be quiet too ;; and if you wanna bring a cardboard, please think about other peoples view..

Anyways, during the MC Zelo also said he didn't had his contract anymore and they didnt plan to go Europe but desperately wanted to see us ;; They didnt want to leave for encore either, and they did it TWICE. I cried so much during goodbye, because it felt like BAPs last concert ever. But I trust BAP a lot and will support every decision by them ;; Youngjae also called Yongguk during the encore and it was honestly so beautiful to sing goodbye with them and the fans and seeing their old videos on the background ;; I also had a lightstick btw!!! and the green ocean was honestly beautiful ;; 

During this concert, I rather paid attention to BAP than having fun, I wanted to have memories and my view... wow I would never exchange it for seats, I could see them so damn well and oh my god they’re so talented!! The vocals, the raps and the dance moves, they deserve so damn much.. Im so happy with this setlist bc it had SO SO SO MANY old songs ;;; 

Thank you, Yongguk, Himchan, Youngjae, Daehyung, Jongup and Zelo for the amazing time, I will be waiting for your next step and concert <3

💖 BTS LOVE YOURSELF IN PARIS (DAY 2) - ACCORSHOTEL 211018💖

Travel I was never meant to go to Paris, heck I was never meant to see BTS because I have been looking for tickets ever since they were selling it and I couldn't get it :( Until one day before the Amsterdam concert, I got tickets and could see my loves live ;; Who knew fate would give me another chance one week later? Friday the 20th I got tickets for Paris and immediately booked hotels too ;; 

We left in the morning at 10 AM and arrived in Paris in our hotel (which was in such a shady place HAHAHA) at 5:00 PM. We made a few breaks while going to Paris, but we hadn't had dinner yet; but we had to leave for the venue bc we would arrive there at 6:00 PM. When we got there, we couldn't find our parking but luckily we figured it out and got some merchandise and went to our seats: WHICH WAS LOCATED AT THE FIRST SECTION, THIRD ROW NEXT TO THE STAGE AND THE STAGE WAS SO CLOSE, I COULD SEE THEIR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND OH MYG DOOODDD

Concert BTS waved and came to our section a lot!!! And when Taehyung says he tries to look to every army; he really means it! He loved with so much love to everyone ;; And Jungkook danced SO MUCH this time??!I was so shocked but so happy he could walk/run/dance more ;;; And Jimin didn't seem to be hurt either, of course I dont know for sure, but he did the original Serendipity Choreo!

Since I was pretty close to the stage (3rd row), I could see them going on that stage elevator thingy and they were preparing each other (by talking / fixing the clothes) while everyone was screaming! And goooood I will never get over IDOL LIVE. that DANCE BREAK ;; After IDOL, they all introduced themselves in French. Damn those multilingual French kings GUYS!! My French isn't good either, and I dont know how to pronounce it but wow theyre so good?? How??! And now Save me + Im Fine, im literally sobbing and shaking in my seat, because theyre sO CLOSE TO ME I COULD SEE EVERYTHING, I DIDNT NEED ANY SCREENS OR PHONES T_T. During the Rap of Jhope, Jungkook was dancing along in his chair; babyboy. AND oh shiiit, there was Magic Shop again (AND I CRIED). Taehyung came to our side and oh my god he looked at everyone with so much love and sweetness ;;; The VMIN part still has me on the floor crying, I love it so much :’) and the army bombs looked so so so amazing..

Just Dance is still a very great performance, the best performance you could ever see to see how talented our Jhope!! Please stand up for our dance king! AND GUYS!!! JUNGKOOK WAS STANDING AND DANCING TO EUPHORIA (Amsterdam is still my favourite, because he had the most beautiful and genuine ive ever seen of someone ;;) but oh my god, his voice is magical! It’s so pure and so good, truly a voice of the century ;; When I saw I NEED U in Amsterdam I thought I have seen 7 angels live; I was not wrong. The white & flowy outfits, with the I NEED YOU remix? Please, can it get more and more perfect? Run was just as amazing as I need you :’( and now... the...... song........ which... makes... me.. so weak: SERENDIPITY! oH GOD GUYS, I loved the Choreo in Amsterdam a lot, because he was playing with bubbles, while being super adorable and doing a slow choreo. THIS TIME HE DIDTHE ORIGINAL CHOREO (meaning his back and neck didn't hurt that much (I hope)), so that really caught me off guard :x Im only quite sad that the fan chants in almost every song lacked, perhaps this was only my section, but it was kinda sad :/ uPTO OUR PRESIDENT: NAMJOON, I loved it a lot!! 

DNA GUYS!! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PERFORMANCES OF THAT DAY, SO SO MUCH HAPPEND???! FIRST JUNGKOOOK DID THE CHOREO ON THE CHAIR, THENTAEHYUNG AND JHOPE WERE DANCING FACING EACHOTHER, THEN JIMIN DID THE TAEKOOK PART OF DNA WITH TAEHYUNG AND WHILE JUNGKOOK WAS SINGING HE LAUGHED SO HARD AT JIMIN AND GAVE HIM A THUMBS UP SJKSDJ AND AT HE END THERE WAS A TAEJIN PART (JIN HUGGING V) AND NAMJOON AND JIMIN WERE SHAKING HANDS TOO. Medley THE MEDLEY WAS SUCH A WILD RIDE! Especially Jungkook wow, he couldn't stop jumping around and dancing EVEN THOUGH HE IS INJURED LIKE????? Boys with Fun is really fun to watch and I think it was during Attack on Bangtail when Jungkook and Yoongi were rapping/singing together???! ANYWAYS FIRE, DAMN wow wowow, Jimin’s just screaming the lyrics, the ENERGY, them jumping around (including Jungkook) and then doing the 3:33 just [closed]. Obviously Baepsae had to come too AND CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE PUT JUNGKOOK ON HIS CHAIR BECAUSE HE WAS WILDING DURING BAEPSAE SKFJKSFKJ. I also love how they act and dance during baepsae??? its so?? crazy??! But oh my goddd during baepsae Jungkook also gave someone water in the crowd ;; that was so sweet! And then DOPE! There was a part where Jimin didn't sing (but not many fans sung for him either like ???? but anyways, they did the dance break on the MainStage and jungkook was somewhere in the corner doing his choreo I LOVE HIMMMM. Again Jungkook was VERY VERY wild during this medley

Concert part 2 Even airplane pt2 was WILD today! Jimin flipped his hair and exposed his forehead, until after the Jhopes rap part, I saw jimin sitting on jungkook?? excuse me? whats going ON! But oof they say el Mariachi so beautifuuuuuuul ;____; 

And now, my death was waiting for me: Singularity! Although Taehyung had a cold, he sung so GOOD and his deep voice OOOOOOOOOF and you really couldn't notice his cold at all ;; thank you for performing while being sick bb ;; AND ANAD NADNDN THEN FAKE LOVE GUYSGUYS I have witnessed fake love so close and I dont think im oKAY. their mf damn clothes, the whole choreo and just THE SONG???! please have mercy.... ;; 

im so glad Seesaw was up next so I could calm down a bit (Seesaw is my favourite rapline song!) and just... how can you nOT LIKE seesaw? hOW. And obviously after my favourite rapline song, my favorite vocal line song had to come: Epiphany. He got his flowers on his suit fixed so they were all bloomed too! And just Seokjin playing the piano, with his beautiful voice reaching those high notes which really touch your heart, the fans singing along with him... Everything about this song is perfect, thank you worldwide handsome :’) I cried this time too.. 

And when The Truth Untold came, wow. The visuals (even the clothes) and just the vocal line singing with piano, what else can I ask? Unfortunately Taehyung didn't change his notes, because he got a cold but he performed so well! Jimin did do a high note and just Jungkook singing with Jimin and Jin made me CRY SO HARD. THIS SONG IS THE BEST VOCAL LINE SONG TO EXIST, FIGHT ME ON THIS. And you know? There is something about Tear, which makes it so intimidating you cant do anything but watch and hold your breathe. Their stage presence is so damn amazing and cool, them showing everyone how to rap and what rapping MEANS. GO OFF MY GUYS, SHOW THE WORLD HOW TO RAP!!!

And...... the mic drop dance break... please I still cannot watch it without screaming the fan chants so loudly and sobbing on the floor. Just wow, I cant even describe how GOOD this is LIVE? please tell me your ways bangtan, im so so so so so amazed by it ;;;;

Encore The fans were doing fan chants, and something like oHOOOHOOOOHHHOHHOHOH (idk if its something French? it sounded something what you do during soccer games??) and were also making sounds with their feet (will comeback on this bc bangtan loved it). BTS also FILMED THIS ENCORE! They filmed themselves and crowd a lot (I hope I can find myself somewhere HAHAH)

During So what they appeared with blue pants and the black tour-shirts. Jimin and Taehyung both came with beanies too and Jin suddenly had a Army bomb SDJKSDJK and when yoongi had to rap, he was walking with Jimin on the catwalk, but he was dancing SO WEIRDLY jimin just tURNED AWAY HAHAHA. Also the iCONIC TAEHYUNG AND JIMIN PART WAS ABOUT TO COME and then jimin was done and came in between THEM I CANTTTT. This time I didn't start crying during So What HAHAHHA. AND mY SONGG! ANPANMAN ;________; Jungkook was jamming by himself like he was in some sort of club, and namjoon and taehyung got distracted by him and almost forgot to dance haha, and at the part where namjoon gives something to jimin he screamed jimin and the fans started to sing his part too! 

and now... the... final.. song.... LOVE MYSELF and Yes I cried again :’) There were so many moments ;; Im not even gonna talk about the vmin part, bc I will start crying ;; but just before jins part he almost HIT JIMIN (without army bomb this time) and THE LOOK THEY GAVE EACHOTHER WAS SO FUNNY DFKJDFJ. but oh god I miss them so so so freaking much :’) I had so much fun the past week :( 

Army time + MC BTS turned the lightsticks into the French flag. Also the armys did the OHOHOHOHOH part and started making sound with their feet and BTS really loved it, especially Taehyung and Jungkook! Jimin was also saying how he went around the venue to look around at the fans (fans didn't notice him), and something about fan chants (I cant speak French and Korean well but this is what I understood :X) During the whole encore we showed our banner too which said ‘’우리의 해는 영원히 지지 않아’ I also got merch btw, the white tourshirt (the quality is so fine and good?? its so thick and heavy?? wow legends) and an army lightstick! 

I honestly never expected when I said ‘Until we meet again’ would be in 7 days. I never planned to go, but Im so dan glad I did go because I was so close to the stage. They came to our section a lot, waved at us, also filmed us. But they had so much fun and it was their last Europe stop too ;; Im so glad they had so much fun, despite them getting a bit injured! The next day I also went sightseeing in Paris and went back home :’) 

Im going to miss BTS so MUCH. I love them so much and I have never done this for another group (seeing them 2 times in a week). post con depression hit me like a truck, but it was always fate to see them twice. Thank you so much for the amazing night.. I will never forget this, ever <3
