i actually need enjin and amo to have a life-changing adventure together (à la atla style) where enjin wholeheartedly believes that he messed up even more with her, while amo now considers enjin one of the few men she can trust with her life.

i'm thinking, enjin tries to apologize for putting amo in the situation they're in (regardless of the fact that it was out of their hands and that he was able to help/protect her) and makes an off-handed remark about how amo must hate being stuck with him instead of *insert a more dependable/fatherly figure here* and amo sort of just opens up about how she doesn't mind being with him bc she doesn't really feel scared or small or threatened when she's with him.

and when she tells enjin she actually feels safe when she's next to him, well, he can't help but feel like he's found himself another kid to add to his never ending list of strays.
