anyway, the 8 hour workday and the concept of “8 hours work, 8 hours rest, 8 hours recreation” is outdated and based on the lives and needs of married straight men who had a wife at home doing all the unpaid domestic labor, childcare, and elderly care. We should all be fighting for a 4 hour workday tbh

Hi, have you learnt to transform horizontal into vertical? It confuses me a lot.

Converting horizontal Japanese to vertical Japanese is not too complicated! I found this handy guide (thanks Google) that explains how to format a genkouyoushi (Japanese writing paper). There is no change in the way you write the majority of characters, but the position of punctuation, direction of the extender for katakana long vowels, and position of small hiragana/katakana characters is shown above. Also, don’t forget to start on the right and move to the left! Vertical writing is quite standardized, and I think it is easier to do than writing horizontally (which is probably because Japanese was designed for vertical writing). I hope this guide is useful, and thanks for the ask!
