During the 2019 New Year’s celebration, Nintendo of Japan arranged an animation to be projected onto the side of a building at Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo. The animation featured an original dog character in the Mario series art style, representing the ending year 2018 (that being a year of the dog in the Chinese Zodiac). The dog helps Mario by giving him a dog power-up (top image), which Mario uses to defeat Bowser, who pilots a golem (second image).

Unfortunately, the animation was only shown once, projected onto a wall with a prominent grid, and as such, a version of it without artifacts is not available to the public.
