     Leslie is taken aback for a few seconds  –  it had never occurred to her that her way of living might be odd .  It always seemed so practical  ,  for her to be sheltered and protected as she was .  A little sad for her at times  ,  but not out of the ordinary .  ❝  No  …  never ,  ❞  Leslie finally answers  ,  an embarrassed smile on her lips .  She won’t mention why  ,  however  ,  as she knows what happens at home stays at home  ,  and she doesn’t put it past her father to punish her for oversharing .

     ❝  Our move to America was the most I’ve ever experienced  …  and truth be told  ,  it wasn’t a lot of fun .  —–  Will you tell me  ,  then  ,  some of your favorite travels ?  I’d love to hear them !  ❞

       it wasn’t that she was judging the girl’s lifestyle, as she understood that not everyone was going to do the same things she did, or even enjoy it. but she was curious -- considering that she was someone who traveled for her work and loved it. it was always an interest to see how different others lives were to hers. 

her head moves in a nod in understanding, pausing soon after she asks to hear about her travels. ( she might as well have asked her about tenth century europe. ) a smile curls along her lips, a look of excitement flickering in baby blue eyes. ❛  of course!  ❜ she exclaims, hands clasping together in front of her. ❛  i’ve been to places like greece, rome, even places like china and the philippines! is there a particular one that you’d like to hear?  ❜
