i feel like one of the bigger differences & likeness between eight & hinata is how they deal with pressure. eight is aware they’re the last hope rubrum has, but is also strong enough to live up to the expectations and accepts that they forget the dead, so death in itself never weighs him down (very broadly said at least, it’s a bit different during&after the big bridge battle & when it’s him doing the killing, he does dislike having to kill ppl after all, and hates that its so easy to do that with weapons (hence why he doesnt use them!!)). but eight grows stronger with pressure, having it his goal to make Mother proud.

hinata, however, crumbles beneath it. hinata’s pressure is self-caused most of the time, each dead body is a reminder he’s still too weak. but hinata is a good healer, he’s not class 4 for nothing. but he’s someone who takes on everyone’s problems and he can’t carry that much. so while hinata does live up far above the expectations he has as a healer he still doesn’t see it as enough.

eight is a lot more….realistic in what he knows he can and can’t do? while hinata is almost always more negative to his own abilities once the war starts.

#yuuna&hinatas relationship especially turns rly sour the further the war goes cuz gets angry and tries to tell him that him saving everyone #aint possible but hinatas cant throw away that responsibility so easily #not to mention that yuuna wants to see militesi dead and that doesnt align w hinatas morals at all #i mean in the end shes still the reason hinata survives but yknow ! #it still lines up w how she normally acts but its also.....hinata as a healer is more important to keep alive than someone like her

IT WAS HIS MOTHER who taught him how to tie his shoelaces, using a common children’s rhyme to explain the movements to him. Already then he was careful to make the bows even — taking his time doing it until it was just right.

By length it became a moment of peace for him, a minute of just breathing and thinking about nothing but a rhyme he didn’t know who taught him. It was what he did when he needed to think; crouching and retying his shoe. In addition it helps when he’s distressed before and after missions as it gives him some sort of familiarity he can’t put his finger on.
