It's kinda unbelievable how bad I am at journaling once a week. But I'll get it one of these days. This past week was also a busy one. Continuing off of last week, the rest of the weekend was busy. On Sunday, the day after the engagement party, I had a friend come from further up the state and stay over. We went shopping in downtown and then chilled at my house. The next day we went and watched Weapons, great movie by the way, highly recommend. Then she headed home. It was super interesting cause she lives in a more rural part of the state while I live in the suburbs so it was fun showing her around downtown and for her to see and experience the suburbs directly.

So she left on Monday, to clarify. That night, I went to watch Grave of the Fireflies. Which, is a crazy follow up to Weapons. Loved it, cried a lot, but Studio Ghibli never disappoints. Then Tuesday I went to go see a concert in the city with my brother. I would say it was the best concert I've ever been to since it was in the back of a restaurant so it was like a private concert. It was very intimate and unstructured. The artist took requests, pulled people on stage, and told us a bunch stories in between. It was terrible weather that day, but it was so worth all the rain we avoided.

Next few days were pretty uneventful, but come Friday, me and friends were planning to go to the karaoke bar again. Last time we didn't have our full party, but this time we were going to have that and some more! My brother was also coming home that day and because of this I could stay out later since he stays up later.

Originally I was a little stressed since I was supposed to be at the bar at 9 and by the time he would be home, it might be later than that. So when he got home I just hopped in his car and we just drove, and I!!! got there at 9 and was the first person there!!!! I got lied to! So I had to sit outside and wait for the rest of our party to arrive. It felt a little awkward but the people at the bar were super chill and chatted a bit with me until the rest of my friends arrived and then we headed into the bar. It was super fun having such a large party. I ended up singing this time around, cause my best friend was there and so we sang Thnks fr the mmrs. I didn't drink this time, much to my friend's insistent but I told him that was my trade off for singing since last time I drank but didn't sing. Since I sang another of our party was convinced to sing and he did a duet of Umbrella with another one of the guys which was so funny and good. It was a really good night.

Saturday was nothing really special, just some chill gaming which was nice. But that was the week, or last week to be specific, but whatever. This week shouldn't be too busy, so hopefully I get this up on time, but I will make no promises.

Almost missed journaling this week which would've been a great start to me saying I'll journal weekly, but if there's one good thing it's that a lot has happened in these past few days so I get to say it all now.

So the start of this week... I found my embroidery floss and started making bracelets for my friends. I have made 2 out of 3 and surprisingly the diamond pattern they wanted kinda was tough on my body. Both took two days to make but I'm a person who really enjoys repetition so making the pattern was very calming and fun for me, and I also get really focused on the task at hand so I spent as much time as I could afford making them. The first almost wasn't long enough to make a knot at the end, so with the second which was going to someone with a bigger wrist I made the original string super long, way too long honestly... I ended up with 51 inches of floss leftover. But now I know, so with my last bracelet still to be made I am now much faster and better at making the pattern and know how much string I should have.

To make these bracelets I had to go out and buy some more embroidery floss as I was missing colors, really basic ones too like white and black. I ended up having to go out two days in a row since I was used one string that was much too thin compared to the others.

But let me back up first, as this week was a wild one in terms of good happenings. So, first, my mom spotted Black Bolt/White Flare Pokemon cards. I LOVE Pokemon cards and Pokemon Black/White was my first ever game so I wanted this set but settled with just getting singles as I fought for an earlier set and wasn't willing to wait in line again with the state the hobby is in. But anyway we went and got two binder sets, and I didn't get anything spectacular but I am happy to see the art and to have some.

Then after Pokemon card shopping we went clothes shopping at the store I applied at. As we were finishing up, I ran into the manager who interviewed me and apparently I seemed to be in the process of being hired but hadn't received an email that with information I needed to fill out. I had to go back the next day and get that sorted out but it seems I may have a part time job soon!

Then the next time we went floss shopping, we stopped by a second-hand store and my mom got some puzzles, one of which she was looking for, and it made her really happy, so a good week. Then Friday, went out with some friends to a karaoke bar, didn't sing but had a good time meeting the friends the one person I knew knew.

Then today, had lunch with the gals and officially became a bridesmaid! Very exciting stuff. Went to her engagement party and it was really nice. Saw a lot of friends I hadn't in a while and it was nice to catch up with them and even meet their partners. A little surprised at one of the parents remembering me cause I didn't think I made that much of an impression in the few times I've met him, but hey! Good for me I guess? But, yea, the engagement party was really chill and nice, had some good food and had a great time chatting with everyone. A pretty successful and eventful week if i do say!

So. It's an odd time in my life right now as watch my friends around me get their adult lives started meanwhile it feels like I'm sitting here stagnant. Friends are getting engaged, moving in together, etc. And I'm here trying to find a job. So, I think in order to feel like I'm doing something to progress myself, I'm going to start this journal? Blog? Whatever you want to call it, something to document this time as a keepsake and as a way to say I have recent writing done as personal as it is.

The goal is to update this at least weekly, daily even but my day to day isn't usually that eventful.

Anyway, today. Today started off not great, I had an interview in the afternoon and so I spent the entire night prior thinking about it and got maybe 4-5 hours of sleep tops. It was aggravating because I wasn't even anxious about the interview before I went to bed I just couldn't stop thinking. Anyhow, arrived early at the interview and had to awkwardly wait at the front of the store. I always hate that, it's good to arrive early it's just standing there while customers come in and out makes me just loitering look very strange.

The interview itself... it was ok. I'm not exactly happy with my answers but I think they were just fine, fine enough I think for a part-time retail job certainly not the best though. It's just I never know the balance I should have with honesty and just pandering, especially when it comes to a retail job, like this job isn't my dream job and I know retail managers probably get that, but you still have to make some kind of impression that you want the job enough, yea? I hope I get it. I've been unemployed for a year with no real end in sight so I just need some cash flow to tide me over.

But that was everything notable today. I am very sleepy and I really want to write more. Maybe I'll write more for my own characters later. But bye for now.
