The Unitary Patent (UP) is a European patent that provides uniform protection in participating European Union (EU) countries through a single patent application process. It is administered by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

The unified patent court will be implemented in early 2023, an international court for enforcing traditional and unitary patents. This new court can decide on the validity of registered European patents; all member states will participate, except for Poland, Spain, and Croatia.
