Hobart hands out thousands of plants to encourage nature strip gardening
Hobart is encouraging residents to create vibrant nature strip gardens by giving away thousands of free plants for local front nature strips. Through this initiative households can select from low growing native species and hardy ornamentals, all chosen to meet safety and visibility standards around driveways and footpaths. Recipients can choose up to 20 plants and plant them over winter ready to flourish come spring. This program aims to foster community pride, improve street aesthetics, and make gardening easy and accessible. With support and guidance from the council, homeowners can transform their nature strips into attractive and low-maintenance green spaces that benefit all.

How Regular Office Cleaning Helps Reduce Sick Leaves
Regular office cleaning plays an important role in reducing sick leaves by maintaining a healthy and hygienic environment. Clean workspaces help remove germs, bacteria, and allergens that can cause illness. Frequently touched surfaces like desks, keyboards, doorknobs, and shared equipment are breeding grounds for viruses if not cleaned properly. A clean office also improves air quality by reducing dust and mold. When employees work in a fresh and organized space, they are less likely to fall sick and more likely to stay productive. Investing in regular cleaning shows you care about staff well being and supports a healthier and more efficient workplace.

Things to Do and See in Hobart
Don’t be tricked by the small scale of Hobart. There’s so much here for the curious visitor. If you like the sound of unearthing a new craft beer, delving into history that dates back to Australia’s earliest days and hopping on a ferry to MONA, a museum that’s reinvented what museums are all about, then Hobart is for you. Great live tunes, independent stores, mind-pausing art, and food so fresh you’ll be wiping the dirt off spuds the farmer plucked from the earth that morning. That’s if you’re cooking up your own feast. Alternatively, leave it to the first-class chefs that are descending on the island (or hurriedly returning), hungry to showcase the island’s produce.

How to check your rhododendrons for mites
Checking your rhododendrons for mites is simple and helps keep your plants healthy. Start by looking closely at the leaves, especially underneath, where mites like to hide. If you see tiny specks moving or fine webbing, those are signs of spider mites. Leaves may also look dusty, speckled, or start turning yellow. You can gently tap a branch over a white piece of paper and check for small moving dots. That means mites are present. Use a magnifying glass if needed. Mites thrive in hot dry weather, so keep your plants well watered and mist the leaves. If you find mites, wash the leaves with water or use a safe insecticidal soap. Early detection helps protect your rhododendrons from damage.

6 Common Myths About Bond Cleaning Debunked
Bond cleaning comes with many myths that often confuse tenants. One common myth is that it is just a regular clean, but it is much more detailed. Some believe they will automatically lose their bond, which is not true if the place is cleaned properly. Others think landlords always find faults, but a proper clean avoids most issues. People also believe they must hire professionals, but doing it yourself is fine if it meets the standard. Another myth is that walls or carpets must look brand new, but only fair wear and tear is expected. Lastly, many assume the checklist is optional, yet following it closely is key. Knowing the truth helps make the bond cleaning process smoother and less stressful.

Simple Daily Habits to Prevent Bathroom Condensation
Preventing bathroom condensation is all about adopting a few simple daily habits. Start by improving ventilation—open a window or turn on the exhaust fan during and after showers to reduce moisture buildup. Wipe down mirrors, walls, and shower screens after use to stop water droplets from lingering. Keep the bathroom door open when not in use to let air circulate. Use a squeegee to remove excess water from tiles and glass surfaces. You can also invest in a dehumidifier for added moisture control. These small, consistent actions can prevent mould, mildew, and long-term damage, keeping your bathroom fresh and dry every day.

10 things to do next time you’re in Hobar
Hobart. I had made up my mind about Tasmania's capital, or so I thought, on a family holiday in 2008. We caught the Spirit of Tasmania over, the ship's screening of The Corpse Bride was interrupted by the sounds of children vomiting, we drove around a lot, I got the creeps at Port Arthur, Cradle Mountain was fun, it was cold. You'll notice that Hobart, or nipaluna, doesn't feature very much into these recollections, that's because besides a good Chinese restaurant, I don't remember it. That was my position: unmemorable. Then I grew up. Dark Mofo and MONA were on my radar, I read my first Richard Flanagan novel and I'd heard friends in hospitality whisper about the city's dining scene. OK fine. I'll check it out again, this time with adult eyes. How wrong I initially was.

Owen's 39-ball century leads Hobart to Big Bash title
Owen's century, which was the joint-fastest in BBL history, helped the hosts blaze to a seven-wicket victory over David Warner's Sydney Thunder with 30 balls to spare. The 23-year-old Tasmanian opener clobbered 11 sixes as Thunder's bowlers wilted under the onslaught. Owen departed for 108 off 42 balls to leave Matthew Wade (32 off 17 balls) and Ben McDermott (18 off 12 balls) to steer Hurricanes to the trophy in front of a jubilant home support at Ninja Stadium in Hobart. "It's an amazing feeling," said Owen. "I was doing what I've tried to do all competition – get us off to a good start so we could take it easy in the middle and thankfully I came off."

Types Of Cleaning Chemicals That Will Not Damage Surfaces
Effective cleaning involves choosing chemicals that not only clean thoroughly but also preserve the integrity of surfaces. Multipurpose cleaners with neutral pH levels are a safe bet for everyday use on surfaces like wood, laminate, and stone, effectively lifting dirt and grime without causing etching or discoloration. Enzyme-based cleaners excel in breaking down organic stains and odors on fabrics and carpets, using natural enzymes to dissolve residues without harsh chemicals. Hydrogen peroxide-based cleaners offer a gentle yet effective solution for disinfecting and brightening surfaces such as tiles and grout, without leaving behind harmful residues. For delicate electronics and screens, alcohol-based cleaners provide a streak-free clean and evaporate quickly to prevent damage from moisture. Always conduct spot tests in inconspicuous areas and refer to manufacturer recommendations to ensure compatibility with specific materials. By selecting these types of cleaning chemicals, you can achieve effective cleaning results while safeguarding the longevity and appearance of your surfaces.
