Almost a month ago, jay and I had to say goodbye to Bigby Wolf. He went peacefully surrounded by love and giving love back for as long as possible.
This has been fucking devastating for all of us. He helped keep me alive through some of the worst times in my adult life. I still look for him every time I enter a room. Oz and Toast both seem a lot more subdued, and they're trying to figure out a relationship with each other now that their mutual best friend is gone.
On Sunday, April 6th, it will have been a month. We're inviting people to light a candle in his honor at 9:11PM (the day he joined our family) in their own timezone. His memorial website is here. If anyone has memories of him or even kind words I'd love to hear from people.
Thanks so much for helping love this cat. He was so fucking special. I miss him so much.

#pet death/#bigby wolf the cat#i could spend a million years posting pictures of him here's just a few of them

Some people will see Rachel wearing earrings and take it as proof that morphing doesn’t heal all injuries and not even consider the possibility that Rachel just forces earrings through her perfectly smooth earlobes every time she wants to wear them. 😔

Incredible job by the 1980s BBC who decided last minute they needed to quickly explain why Switched on Bach doesn't have Wendy's name on it

If humans were reconstructed from nothing but bones, they would 100% give us fur. The idea of “hairless except for the top of the head where the hair is actually the longest in the entire animal kingdom” would never come up

glimpse into my beautiful imaginary world where arthropods are really big and we domesticated them
edit: people are starting to say some "my worst nightmare" or "eeeww no that one is yucky and scary" comments on this like they do on any bug post and id like to say. it's fine if you don't like bugs it's fine if you're scared of bugs but don't put that on MY post clearly talking about how much i like them and how cute i think they are. you can make your own damn post about how much you hate wasps or spiders or whatever. i'm blocking people who make these kinds of comments.

LGBT people, I need you to know that any “pedophile execution bill” passed in the US is meant to put you, personally, to death. When the right says “groomer,” they’re talking about you. When they say “predator,” they’re talking about you. When they say “pedophile,” they’re talking about you. Any actual child sex abusers who are convicted and executed would be, to them, a happy accident, a cherry on top of a law that’s meant to exterminate anyone who deviates from the cisgender, heterosexual norm.

Gripping people by the shoulders to earnestly tell them how parts of Ireland could be similar to the North American Pacific Northwest with stunning temperate rain forests if we actually committed to re-wilding are you listening to me? The constant rain we have supports beautiful rainforest ecosystems that were destroyed but we can bring them back. It wouldn't even be that hard. The forests will regenerate themselves over time if we just stop planting non-native pine plantations, remove livestock grazing from the land, and control the deer population. We could turn one of the most ecologically degraded countries in the world into one of the most unique ecosystems found on earth. Do you hear me???? Only a handful of other places on the planet support temperate rainforest biomes and we are continuing to destroy our own. Why are you trying to get away???

When I was trying to write my tags on the last post, I attempted to copy-paste my special tag-friendly comma (‚) and it. It pasted an image of a spiral staircase? This wasn't on my clipboard. I've never seen this staircase before. What the fuck?
