in this thought-provoking scene of the 1997 tv animation shoujo kakumei utena episode 24 timestamp 16:04, misturu tsuwabuki, in a desperate bid to stop nanami kiryuu from reading his secret diary about stalking her and turning into a cow, wears his white hospital sheets in the style of a toga garment (having awoken with no regular clothing). this is after we just witnessed tsuwabuki fantasise about becoming the so-called "touga" kiryuu, aka nanami's big brother. of course he's tried to mimic the elder kiryuu's perceived adult/princely characterics plenty already. thus in this scene he is in a... toga. toga? touga.トーガ? とうが. your ball? yes, my ball. much like his attempts at becoming touga, his toga is a shoddy performance that inevitably fails, and indeed we see this when the sheet slips off his body and he is just an embarrassed kid and nanami crashes through a window. thanks for reading idk how tumblr works
