After some thought I believe this impish and stylish Pokémon would be a great match for a coordinator such as yourself. Known to dance silently in the sky before attacking their opponent out of nowhere. A Gliscor could be a friend both on stage and in battle.

    She figured he wanted to be left alone for a good minute; she approached him when she had a feeling he’s somewhat back mentally. Granted, not back to his usual BATTLE NUT self, but at least enough that he isn’t so snappy and hates everything approached by him. Dawn knew what it’s like for feeling patronized and not feeling like no one’s taking you seriously when you’re upset. She hopes this will at least cheer him up a LITTLE bit.

   “You ready to face me, Brendan? Because don’t think for a second I’m gonna hold back!”

Of course he’d mention the one pokemon he was the most angry about how the battle went for it. 

Usually Brendan could appreciate puns, yet this time he choose to ignore it. This guy didn’t need to see him get ugly after all, that would be unbecoming. 

“It’s Metagross. The extra arms come from mega-evolution. If you want one as a pokemon partner, you’ll need to find a belum and reach a strong bond. Once it becomes a metagross you should be able to try to mega-evolve it. You’d just need a ring and a metagrossite.” He was matter of fact in tone and he could have sworn he saw this guys before in passing! Though he was in no mindset to be social.

“Kalos is the region where it’s the most popular so if want to learn more about it, traveling there would be a good start. Later, I got business to take care of.”

It was interpreted as pity. The despondent aura before now flared with disgust and pain from this gesture being salty into the wound. He covered his mouth as he looked at Nate with cold eyes.

“I have to cut back on the sweets. Got a commercial to shoot in a  few months and maybe a toothpaste commercial. Thanks though. Be sure to enjoy the last few days of battling here, Nate.”  The response at the end was so automatic is was obvious he had no joy in his words. He turned away and pulled out his pokenav, dialing a number and making a business call before walking away.

It would have stung less if his mentor hadn’t seen him battle like that. WITH the Beldum he had given him at that. 

“You don’t have to lie to me, Steven. The team I had wasn’t designed for use outside of the Brawl and if all it took was more than one physical wall with earthquake to cause it fall apart then it will simply error on my part as a trainer. You’re on the bonds, but how can call that growth?”  He refused to look Steven in the eyes and instead opted to look at his pokenav.

“Oh and they want to ask you to battle to excite the everyone here. If you don’t feel like it, tell them you here to protect them just incase a Regigigas tries to step on them.” Yeah, this was not the Brendan he was used to seeing.

Naturally he still had things to while running the BrendanBrawl.

“Are you still going to have the surprise battle with the winner of the event?”

“Are you doing to address the rumors that the winner earns a date with you?”

“Mr. Stone is here! Do you think he would be willing to have a surprise match?”

All the voices sounded the same to him as he stared listlessly before him. The mood shift being notable to all around him and all inquires on if he was alright being brushed aside with curt answers and redirections to the business at hands if not outright ignored.

“Hoopa is still an issue, so keep me informed as the authorizes and guards keep protection around the area up until the event is over. I made a few calls and dealt with Hoopa before in Hoenn, so things should be fine as long as the legendries can be sent back.”  He was all business, not a hint of excitement at all about seeing so many legendary pokemon.

“As for the surprise battle, I think I’ll save that for the future. I’ll just have my team to fight legendaries over the event one on me from now on...”

   “L–Let’s not forget to have fun, all right? After all, this isn’t a life or death battle.” A wink and another sparkle. He’s keeping it together for his fans an the fans go wild at his humbleness; but truth be told he’s not sure if anyone else can see that intense look and energy around him…. Arceus have mercy on this poor idol.

That Donphan was obnoxious.

If he had brought his normal team, there wouldn’t have been an issue, yet it was the principal of the thing. 

The guy got two wins on him in a row in front of his friends AND STEVEN.

At his own tournament.

The guy who just copies trainers and has no idea what he’s doing.

“Congratulations, I suppose your strength is legitimate after all.” With that he turned to leave. While ground types weren’t within the type restrictions, the fact he still managed to get to wins didn’t make it any more shocking. It was surreal even. His friend beats legendries and yet a damn flirty Rhydon and Donphan managed to be too much of an issue?!

No words could reach him now as his simply walked away, his aura despondent.

“Who me? I’m not angry at all. Why would I be upset over a legitimate match that had the normal amounts of skill, luck and strength the average trainer battle has? Hmm?~” Brendan’s voice was calm and his expression was sunny but dear sweet mercy was his aura another story. VENGENCE was basically how you describe the emotion and it was like being near a raging fire.
