Can't do front-line protest action? At least support the people who can.
Pro-Palestine activists in my city have been hit with dozens of charges after a protest targeting the spokesperson of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the organisation running the "killing fields" disguised as aid distribution points in Gaza.
The spokesperson of the GHF, Shahar Segal, owns several restaurants around the world. One of them, Miznon, became the target of a snap protest in Melbourne recently. The action was a success: mere days later, Segal announced he would be stepping down from the GHF.
In the weeks since, the protesters involved have been arrested, doxxed, and had their homes raided by police. They've been slapped with thousands of dollars in charges and need help fighting them in court.
Direct action works - the fierce response from the state and media make that clear. But there is nowhere near enough support for the people doing this important work.
If you can't show up for Palestine in the form of direct action, then donate to the people who are putting themselves on the line.
