So I thought I was obsessed with Buck and Bucky hurt/comfort but honestly Bucky yelling "Go, Buck! Get out of here!" changed me as a person. Bucky ready to protect Buck with his life, that guy didn't even thought about his safety only Buck.

I just can't stop thinking about protectiveBucky, I know Buck can take care of himself, he is strong and smart but I see him as someone who never had any help in his life. Buck would try to do anything by himself and that made him a bit oblivious to some dangers. Bucky knows that and his only thought is "I have to protect him!"

I imagine all the aus like Bucky saving Buck from the Germans in the Stalag.

Or in my last unicorn au Bucky risking his life so that Buck can run away and become a unicorn again.

I got so bad to even thinking of Bucky saving him from his abusive father, just running away with him or staying behind so Buck can run away.

Thank you for humoring me when I was struck with feels about this random parallel. In the beginning Bucky’s quip about the unicorn is funny because it’s not extinct, it never existed right? But along with the boys we slowly realized that the aircrew are going down and getting erased, like going extinct, but so much worse because if their names aren’t remembered it’s like they never existed.

MEEEEE TOOOO. it really just hits different, it's such a unique dynamic for them and i'm so excited to write it because it's gonna be such a switch up from how i usually write them and also my first swing at a modern au/non–canon fic ooo boy

gale looks like he'd be scary and intimidating and closed–off, and he definitely can be in certain circumstances, but not with john, never with him. it probably takes a while for john to break down his walls, whatever reasons he might have them up, but who can say no to that sweet boy? gale is so protective and probably hates how soft john makes him at first, but they fall into each other's lives and make a home in each other's hearts before they realize it's happening.

john has so much love to give and hasn't had many positive male figures in his life, a la daddy issues, probably has gotten involved with men a little too similar to his dad, raised voices and mean fists and alcohol, because he'll lean into whoever gives him attention and affection. but gale is different, gale's gentle with him, knows what john needs before john himself even knows he needs it, never raises his voice or pushes or is anything other than sweet and soft with him.

sooo much to explore with these two, so much angst and slowburn and softness, my heart :')) <3
