after a stressful day, alice often liked to come to the greenhouses. she kept every other aspect of her life neat and clean -- her notes, her room, even her sock drawer, but in the greenhouses she didn’t have to worry about that. she could get soil underneath her nails and nobody cared. tying the apron she kept in the greenhouse around her waist, alice got to work on a loudly complaining screechsnap plant which had gotten too big for its pot. she had just lifted it out of the soil when she heard the door to the greenhouses open. glancing over her shoulder, she saw the familiar face of rys gaulthier, and she flashed him a warm smile. “ --- oh good, you’re just in time to help me repot this screechsnap. ” / @briexmars

introducing my newest childe, viktoria tsvetkova!! read more abt my #problematicfave under the cut 

( LINDSEY MORGAN ) ⤬ there goes VIKTORIA TSVETKOVA. i hear they’re EIGHTEEN, a SEVENTH YEAR. would you believe SHE really is from DURMSTRANG and has been sorted into RAVENCLAW? at least, i’ve heard they’re CHARISMATIC & INQUISITIVE, but they also seem somewhat INCONSIDERATE & ARROGANT. for a PUREBLOOD, i think they’re alright, but you never know.

so viktoria checks off all the boxes for the cliche rich spoiled rotten pureblood checklist: wealthy af, basically raised by house elves, spoiled by her parents in an effort to make up for their absence, arrogant and ignorant 

she has grown to be confident and loud and unashamed of it 

her main goal in life right now is to have fun, to hell with consequences (besides, she’s so used to there not being any consequences for her, considering her family is v influential and she’s so good at sweet talking her way out of trouble) 

she’s very open and gregarious -- she’s totally unafraid of talking to new people or what they might think of her. honestly does not give a fuck about other people’s opinions of her!!! which can be a good thing or a bad thing -- her family’s had to cover up quite a few scandals because of her 

she is very magnetic at first because she’s so full of life and mischief, so everyone kinda wants to be in her circle of friends, but then they realize she kind of just mostly cares about herself

she can kinda be a bitch sometimes bc she just says what she thinks and can be really blunt a lot of the time

never apologizes

was sorted into ravenclaw when she arrived at hogwarts because she’s all about new experiences, and is curious about everything

has probably had a lot of flings with guys and girls but probably isn’t the best in relationships -- would most likely cheat as soon as someone else caught her eye 

pretty flirty & sexual and again is completely unashamed of it

gets really passionate & interested about one thing for a short period of time before moving onto something else and unfortunately that includes people 

is blood purist in a casual kinda way -- like i’m p sure there aren’t a lot of muggleborns at durmstrang so she hasn’t interacted with many muggleborns and i doubt she’s interacted with any muggles so she just kind of assumes they’re less intelligent -- the same way slughorn does 

kinda treats muggleborns & muggles like performing monkeys, like thinks they’re adorable but not really all that bright 

it’s not really obvious that she’s prejudiced at first bc she’ll be so friendly but like .... she fully is

anyway i think that’s about it ... if anyone wants plots with her hmu!!!!

“alice fortescue, if any one of those new students says so much as a rude word to you, i swear on merlin’s saggy old balls i will hex them crawling back into whatever hellhole they came here from. that i promise.”

alice couldn’t help but laugh. “ --- you’re a wonderful friend, but you’re the WORST person to promote international cooperation, ” she said fondly, rolling her eyes before snapping her fingers and pointing at amelia with a businesslike expression. “ --- by the way, i’m counting on you to help me decorate the dorm. greta’s already got hers decorated, because of course, so i absolutely HAVE to catch up. ”

FINN BONES.

“ — bunk beds are cool, d. ” finn doesn’t let his face split, raising an eyebrow at her as he drops into the seat next to her. “ — they are NOT designed to murder you in your sleep. maybe allow a murderer easy access, but, not contraptions from hell designed for that one purpose. ”

“ --- the one good thing about bunk beds, ” dorcas proclaimed, “ is that they offer you a CHOICE of grisly death. a, fall off the top bunk and break your back and die or b, get crushed on the bottom bunk by the bed collapsing on you and die. ” her face shifted into a thoughtful expression. “ --- i think i’d prefer a, wouldn’t YOU? ”

JAMES POTTER.

James play gasped placing his hand on his chest, “Well I never. I am everyone’s favorite they just don’t know it yet. Though you do put up a good fight Miss Alice.” He smiled softly his usual smirk forever on his face. James tilted his head remembering the slide, “Oh yeah…” He paused thinking back to the first time he had tried to sneak up there to scare Lily. His bum hurt for a week. 

“Well, I am sure it’ll look good without my help. The boys and I will probably be in the Common Room if you get tired but don’t want to be lonely.” He shrugged pulling his bag more onto his shoulder. Groaning to himself as he realized he had yet to do the timetable for tryouts and the first practice. 

“ --- you’re everyone’s favourite until they realize they’re tired of you and move onto me, ” alice informed him teasingly, her ponytail swinging behind her as she tilted her head at him. although she loved to playfully needle james, in truth she was very fond of him. “ --- i really shouldn’t, i’ve got loads of work to do, ” she said reluctantly, then paused as a thought occurred to her. “ ... will you be playing exploding snap? ”

EVAN ROSIER.

he took a second drag before handing the cigarette back to her, making sure to exhale the smoke right in her direction. “i’ve got just as much of a right to be here as you, haven’t i? besides–” evan leaned in, pressing his hand on the wall next to her head– “don’t pretend you didn’t miss me.”

she turned her head away, grimacing from the smoke he blew in her face, and stubbed the cigarette on the wall dangerously close to his hand. “ --- like the plague. ” flicking the cigarette butt onto the ground by his feet, dorcas lifted her gaze to meet his squarely, a wry smile now twisting her face. “ --- getting BOLDER this year, are we? we’re out in the open, rosier, ” she taunted, taking a step closer to him so that their noses were barely an inch apart. “ --- anyone could see us. ”

“easy now, alice. i’m sure they’ll all appreciate your dormitory decorations even if they’re set up later. and if they don’t: fuck ‘em. they’re the worst kind of people.”

alice gave the other girl a grateful smile. “ --- thanks, ’melia. i hope so. ” her brow creased slightly. “ --- but you have to PROMISE not to say that to them if they don’t. then they’ll for real hate me forever. ”

GRETA CATCHLOVE.

       “Oh, I just meant a second time. I reviewed most of it as soon as the book list came. Better be ready, right? Fixing my trunk didn’t take me that long. I got really good with non-verbal magic during the summer.” Greta shook her head, there hadn’t been much time to actually see everything New Orleans offered. “I couldn’t, but we did see some other displays of magic. I’m only surprised Ilvermorny isn’t located in New Orleans… I nearly feel like they’re missing out.”

“ --- oh! well. isn’t that LOVELY. that’s wonderful, congratulations, ” alice replied with a tight smile and an aggressively cheery tone. of course greta could do nonverbal magic, the one thing alice, always the talkative sort, had never been able to master. “ --- ilvermorny is a pretty BIG school, isn’t it? i think they’d have trouble hiding it in near so many muggles. ”

GRETA CATCHLOVE.

       “I suppose it is, Alice. But it’s a lot more rewarding to have spare time to go through the course’s subjects over again. You know, just to make sure I go into class knowing what to ask further on.” She pointed out, already feeling like she had ticked Alice off, and it being enough for the time being. “It went well. It went well… We went to New Orleans. Dad wants to expand the apothecary business, and to be quite honest, New Orleans seemed like a good idea. So much to assimilate.”

“ --- i went over the subject material before i left for hogwarts, probably while you were putting together your unpacking contraption. so i suppose it all evens out, ” alice chirped, looking equal parts relieved and triumphant. “ --- new orleans? that’s so lovely, i’ve never been. did you get your fortune told? i hear there are LOTS of seers there. ”

“I feel like the entertainment industry is changing and is becoming more accepting and wanting people of color to be in projects. And there’s more stories written about minorities and I feel like audiences want to see that, they want to see diversity. When they watch TV they want to see people that look like them, their friends, their family and their life.”

EVAN ROSIER.

evan was in the midst of prowling around the castle grounds, as he often liked to do at the start of every year– there was nothing quite as satisfying as finding lost first-years to torment. he spotted a figure in the distance but recognized her almost immediately, a mischievous grin cracking his stoic expression. “wow, the little angel’s got quite a mouth on her, hasn’t she?” he replied sarcastically. “i could leave you alone to smoke in peace, but where’s the fun in that?” evan chuckled, taking the cigarette from dorcas and raising it to his own lips. 

she hated how just the sound of his voice sent a thrill down her spine -- whether it was disgust or wanting, she couldn’t tell. doe met his gaze with a steady glare as he took her cigarette, eyes flickering down to his lips as he took a drag. “ --- what are YOU doing here, rosier? filled your daily quota of puppies to torture? ” she raised an eyebrow at him challengingly, folding her arms and leaning back against the stone wall.
