We have been excited to see how tumblrland has embraced our blog. So, a note of explanation...we started traveling distances, during the summer on our Harley four years ago. I decided to blog our trips, mainly for our own memories, and for friends to follow us. I must have done a better job with hashtags this year, because many folks found and followed us. Each trip we’ve taken is a different blog. If you liked this one, check out the others: gettingourbuttskickedonroute66, gitcheegumeecircletour, and rumblingtherockies.

As we rode through Oxnard, there was no ignoring the labor done on our behalf and the poor living conditions of those who produced our beautiful morning breakfast. When we travel, we are reminded that we benefit from the labor of others and must never give up working for the dignity and respect for those who built and build this country. We see this great land, but we must all be willing to really see those who run it: the hotel housekeeping, the servers and food runners in restaurants, the construction workers, the landscapers, and the guardians of our state and national parks. We must acknowledge that our country was built on the labor of people of color and continues to thrive because of the dignity of their labor. We must chose to see them and acknowledge what they do for our country.

Morro Rock! We rode into town, went down to the marina for a bite and brew, and because of the fog, could not even see this! Imagine opening our curtains this morning to see this?!?
