Jesus Christ, that's a lot. There's so much more out there than I thought. And these are all common enough to be cataloged and categorized...

Half of me feels cheated that all I've seen so far is Stranger and Eye stuff (as far as I know. I may entirely be wrong or missed something that should have been obvious in hindsight). The other half of me desperately wants to keep it that way.

Oh. This... raises multiple questions about why and if skin-related things are so common in regards to ghost hunting, and I don't know if I'm ready to address that issue quite yet. Concerning.

Wait, hold on. You have a tumblr account? I used to love your show! I even have a sweater with the logo and all that. It inspired me to get into ghost hunting, even though I like the idea of cryptids more than ghosts. I don't do it anymore because of... reasons... but still.

First, CRYPTIDS ARE JUST GHOSTS THAT HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF KILLING YOU. That being said, I don’t dislike cryptids- not much the popular ones as they’ve always felt a bit fake- but the real creatures that have slipped onto this earth somehow, there’s just so much mystery to explore!

I suppose that’s why I’m a “paranormal investigator” now, branching out only slightly from ghosts.

Second, I don’t have a Tumblr account, actually. Yeah- I uh, I’ve actually been eaten by a computer, and it’s trapped me on this hellsite.

No, but I’ll be honest, I made this account as an escape, however… It’s been surprisingly fun getting to know the people on this site- then again my “respectable” critics are probably unwilling to use it.

I’m also really glad inspired a fellow ghost hunter! It’s always been something I wondered- maybe even hoped the show would do. I know we use “don’t try this at home” warnings are mostly to stop more four-year-olds from having a séance (and get the videos monetised). Shame you stopped, you probably saw a woman staple her skin back on or something; I don’t blame you, if that’s the case.

I... genuinely have no idea who those people are or what those terms mean. This more than likely will wind up sounding ridiculous, but I assumed 'Stranger' was the catch-all term for something odd and that anything else was a subcategory.

Oh. I apologize for interrupting the post. I simply saw 'fae' and got excited since that was most of my research until recently.

My name is Holden. I work in the research department at the Institute. I -apparently as I learn about the terminology- specialize in this 'Stranger' category, even though I was originally categorizing most creatures in terms of cryptozoology and mythology. I was unaware of this fun fact when I started, but here we are now.

From what I'm learning, that is correct. I even called Not Them changelings until I learned the proper terms, haha. I mean, I still call them that, but whether or not that will have consequences is up to debate.
