A gentle presence, followed by the tell-tale brush from Sesshomaru as he appears beside her. There’s silence for a moment, before he glances down at her with the faintest trace of a smile. “I imagine, you cannot tell me where the priestess of this village happens to be?”
— @inunisshoku
HIS PRESENCE was felt long before his voice reached her ears. In fact, Kikyo had deliberately walked away from the village to meet him in a quieter environment, away from prying eyes and curious whispers. When his warmth finally touched her, Kikyo felt her muscles relax in response to his presence. ❝I'm afraid I do not know her whereabouts. Some people whisper about her powers being so great that she was taken into the next world. However, others believe she has forsaken her duties as a shrine maiden, and lives now under the protection of a most powerful daiyoukai.❞ A delicate smile lighted up her visage as she glanced up at him, ❝personally, I hope for the latter.❞

Miko: Sometimes I think about remaking this blog, getting a fresh new start and making new icons but... Honestly? Despite the cringe-worthy first posts, I am quite proud of how I improved over the years, and I'm not sure I have the energy (or the time) to remake everything. I somehow feel like deleting all my past posts would feel like ignoring my past, and that's not something Kikyo would want me to do.
#┈ ┊ out of shrine || ( ooc ).#do I still consider making new icons? Sure#but that's basically because I love making icons#The coloring would need to stay the same though#buuuuut at the same time I think: 'why should I waste my time doing that?'#I'm not judging people who revamp. I'm just musing whether I should do it too

Takeshi awakens from his slumber, tiredly straining his eyes to see who entered the room. It wasnt long until he realized who it was and beckoned the Shrine Maiden over to him, opening the blanket to her so she could scoot in close… it was quite a cold night so he used the thicker blankets to keep himself warm throughout the night. “How was your night… Kikyo?”
— @shugcxrcuei-jin
A DELICATE SMILE GRACED her visage as Kikyo carefully sat next to his mattress, her legs tentatively finding their way under the blankets Takeshi so kindly lifted for her, her mind still focused on the terrible scene she had just witnessed to realize what exactly she was doing. Upon noticing, however, the priestess had a moment of hesitation, her heartbeat increasing before she let out a heavy sigh and finally surrendered to the tiredness weighing down on her shoulders. ❝It was rather difficult.❞ She admitted, a sad sigh escaping her as she untied her hair, letting it flow freely down her back as she tucked herself against his side, slender fingers delicately drawing invisible patterns on his chest.
❝I INTEND TO TELL YOU ALL about it in the morning. But for now, I only need you to hold me.❞

SURPRISE SHONE THROUGH her eyes for a split second before Kikyo carefully schooled her features back into one of calm serenity. While she had hoped for an answer, she had never expected him to personally show her the way to the requested source of water. Nothing in him betrayed the true nature behind such an act of attentive kindness, thus leaving the priestess wondering if he did it simply out of boredom. "His reasons do not matter" she chastised herself, gracefully standing up and following behind him, her steps light and quiet as her eyes scanned the area bathed by the pale moonlight.
❝THANK YOU.❞ SHE WHISPERED, her voice soft so as not to disturb the peace surrounding them. She knew he would be able to hear her even if she were a hundred feet away from him, thus making it unnecessary to raise her voice. Kikyo considered starting a conversation, but quickly decided against it; Sesshomaru did not seem like someone who would appreciate small talk. So instead, she remained quiet, and it was a surprisingly comfortable silence that accompanied them until the delicate sound of running water reached her ears.
UPON REACHING THE CREEK, Kikyo was quick to fill her waterskin with fresh water, even gathering some in her hands in order to wash her face and neck. The water was quite cold, but she did not mind it, for she was used to bathing in the river near her village, which was just as cold in this time of the year. ❝Do you need to refill your waterskin as well? Or do you require neither food nor water?❞ There was a hint of a teasing tone slipping into her question, something she was not quite sure why she let slide, but that had somehow found its way into her otherwise perfectly gentle voice.
Even without the feeling of hunger, the woman’s food had managed to occupy his mind for all the time it’d taken her to eat. Hardly a challenge, when just about nothing else was there to provide a distraction to his mind… or his nose. That meal she’d made smelled like nothing Sesshomaru had experienced before. Time and again, the young great demon had to admonish himself inwardly for feeling curious on the matter. But of course, he did not cave to these childish emotions.
Sitting in the shade with arms crossed inside the sleeves of his kimono, he didn’t utter a word until the sky was dark and his presence was betrayed only by the golden shine of the campfire reflecting in his eyes.
Humans were so demanding.
“… There is a creek.” It wasn’t far, but the distance bothered him all the same. Sending her on her own didn’t sit well with him while they were out on in the open. Begrudgingly, the man stood from his chosen seat and pointed himself in direction of the distant rustle that reached his sharp hearing.
“Bring your waterskin and follow me. We will not make this trip twice tonight.”
