Sasamori Tomoe, manga artist, smut writer. We are going to start off my approved Storyteller's List with one of pure unbridled beautiful filth. 

I feel a little self-conscious talking about Sasamori Tomoe's work as I generally consider myself to have some literary interest when it comes to smut. I like stories and characters that engage me, prurient or not. You don't get much of either with Sasamori's works. But he does scratch a few itches very well. Let me back up.

Sasamori Tomoe is a creator of hentai manga, or erotic comics if you prefer the English terms. You can buy his works in English translation at the site Fakku, which provides excellent high quality digital files, https://www.fakku.net/artists/sasamori-tomoe. His best known work is probably Living with a Succubus, which was released in ten volumes with numerous extras created for the fandom. It even spawned an animated adaptation. That was accompanied by a variety of similar but shorter works such as Mikakino's Secret Sex Life and Sex with Senpai. No, creative titles are not one of his strengths but they do get the point across. In each of these the male protagonist is the target of attention from a female, or three in the case of Living with a Succubus. The male is largely passive, allowing the women to initiate sex though not to the degree of being a femdom, which is fortunate as that is not my cup of tea. Of course the male is a bit nerdy, a bit shy, a bit withdrawn and has amazing sexual stamina and capacity to ejaculate. The literary formula is wish fulfillment - a shy guy has cute girls drawn to him that offer endless sexual pleasure. There are worse things to wish for, right?

None of the characters have much depth though what does exist is in the women, not the male protagonist. The most recent series, Gamer's Harem, breaks this trend. It's still not challenging Steinbeck for character development but there is more than in past books and I am glad to see the artist growing as a writer. And that brings us to the good, and there is plenty of it. 

Let's start with the art. Sasamori has a distinctive style with strong thick lines and a lot of fluid movement. His women are curvy and exaggerated but don't become caricatures. It is clear the artist has made an effort to provide detail whether it is in female anatomy or backgrounds, something many hentai manga creators don't bother with. And what isn't to like about curvy, nerdy women with strong sexual appetites? That brings us to the setting. I have nothing against fantasy erotica and have even indulged in writing it myself but I often find erotica fits in a setting modeled after the real world better, where our own experiences play a part in the erotica on the page. While Sasamori dabbled with the fetish of the succubus in one series, it can easily be taken as a metaphor as there is no particular evidence of the supernatural in the story. 

The Succubus books are near constant sex as the characters rut and shag nearly continuously. Gamer's Harem spends more time on characters. But in each, and the shorter works, there is a sense of messy sensuality, sexual fluids and sweat mix, coat people, condoms are the exception and hunger is real. It is a hazy animalistic lust characters get lost in. Sexual consent is replaced by a very casual attitude that makes my free use kink very happy.  

All in all I recommend the manga works of Sasamori Tomoe but if a lack of strong plot or characters is a deal breaker you may stay away. Gamer's Harem may scratch your itch if you are at least okay with a bit more character and still little plot. If you like curvy, sexually needy, dripping women done in beautiful art this may well work for you.

Anyone who knows me knows that while I enjoy writing romance and erotica I'm rubbish at anything resembling marketing it. In fact I'm so rubbish at it that I am going to spend some time posting about other storytellers I like rather than myself. Note that I don't consider these reviews in any proper form. For one thing I'm not going to share writers I don't like. However, I will share what I think are weaknesses of writers I do like to better give you a sense of their work. This will include manga as well as prose, commercial and fan. It will include smut and sweet romances.

I have been designing a collection of altered Tarot cards for my fantasy world of Reuel, where many stories will take place. As I create the cards and unveil their lore I will share them here.

In the decades after the Godsfall the survivors began building new civilizations and with those came artifacts from the before times that people adapted for the new world. One of those was the Tarot deck, essentially the well known Rider Waite Tarot deck. In time it became known as a Fate or Moira deck and the original cards transformed as people looked at the world in new ways. Each entry in this series describes one or more cards.

Reuelians have no inherent sense of good and evil as mystic things. Outsiders are strange creatures with no connection to humanity who are unknowable. Things such as angels and demons are artifacts of old cultural myths. The fact that demons do exist is simply proof that the only thing the gods left behind were threats. Most faiths in Reuel do not rely on some concept of the afterlife to argue for a moral imperative in life. However, there is something that mothers tell stories of to scare children at night. A place that arcanists warn their students of. Entities that seek not corruption, not debasement, not evil but the nullification of existence, the absolute state of enthalpy, the cold quiet that washes over and erases all life from creation. The place of this still ocean which our life draws creatures from is the Abyss. They are not jealous of us, they do not want us, they want us to no longer bother their eternal slumber.

Who am I?

Well, if you don’t want to associate with a hetero cis male you can go ahead and block me.

I’m also very white thanks to mixed Irish, German and Scandi heritage with just a bit of indigenous American mixed in but honestly - like many in this modern world I’m a mutt.

I’m also very liberal, like we should be living in a post scarcity society already kind of socialist liberal.

Depending on your language I am a daddy or soft dom, with a sadistic streak. I’m a geek and unashamed of it. Oh and I write - mostly smut but really anything that that I feel like.

The Old Man and the Beehive

What able bodied authors think I, an amputee and a wheelchair user, would want in a scifi setting:

Tech that can regenerate my old meat legs.

Robot legs that work just like meat legs and are functionally just meat legs but robot

Literally anything that would mean I don't have to use a wheelchair.

If I do need to use a wheelchair, make it fly or able to "walk me" upstairs

What I actually want:

Prosthetic covers that can change colour because I'm too indecisive to pick one colour/pattern for the next 5+ years.

A leg that I can turn off (seriously, my above knee prosthetic has no off switch... just... why?)

A leg that won't have to get refitted every time I gain or loose weight.

A wheelchair that I can teleport to me and legs I can teleport away when I'm too tierd to keep walking. And vice versa.

In that same vein, legs I can teleport on instead of having to fiddle around with the sockets for half an hour.

Prosthetic feet that don't require me to wear shoes. F*ck shoes.

Actually accessible architecture, which means when I do want to use my wheelchair, it's not an issue.

Prosthetic legs with dragon-claw feet instead of boring human feet or just digigrade prosthetics that are just as functional as normal human-shaped ones.

A manual wheelchair with the option to lift my seat up like those scissor-lift things so I'm not eye-level with everyone's butt on public transport/so I can reach the top shelf by myself.

A prosthetic foot that lights up when it hits the ground like those children's shoes.
